Glad this family was able to make this personal decision to benefit their son. That's the way it should be. Now I'm going to shuffle off to a 2A thread to avoid that whiny Sheridan announcer complain that benefits like this should keep parochial schools out of 1A.7 points

The IRONY of it all.....to read his apology it was behind a paywall....... I read his apology, made no reference to the actual main issue, NOT THE HEART gesture....nope it was the ole "do that back to me, we will be just fine". line was the absolutely brutal.....then half the room laughed....equally vomit worthy.....4 points

Doyel has carried the woke flag on numerous occasions. Shouldn't he play by the rules he lives by?4 points

I actually heard that, upon the announcement that Faith Christian was going to go to 11-man this season, some 20-25 players from the LCC football team became Baptists and will be attending Faith in the fall. Lord, I apologize for that there.3 points

Some are and some of these laws have been shot down by the court. However; abortion is now a state issue. I think the supreme court made that clear. The absurdity is that "republican states" have law enforcement waiting at the border with pregnancy test...I HIGHLY doubt this is happening. Now, as with most things, this could occur, but to advertise that this is common is ridiculous. Scenario - a married woman decides to abort a baby at 6 months and does not tell her husband. She lives in a state where abortion past 3 months is illegal. The neighboring state allows abortion up to 9 months. The woman crosses the state line to get an abortion. Did she murder her husbands child? Scenario #2 - a married (or unmarried) woman who is 6 months pregnant is driving down the road and is struck by a drunk driver. Did the drunk driver kill one person or two? Gavin Newsome isn't going to win more votes on the abortion issue this year, it is an attempt to provide a distraction from the disasters occurring in his own state.2 points

I am still waiting on Doyel's apology/retraction article for claiming fans at the Indianapolis 500 would be the most irresponsible thing ever, that there is no way that college football could be played safely in 2020, that JJ McCarty was unworthy of anyone's Heisman vote and that Carson Wentz was the most selfish person on the planet. Dude is a fraud. But he is protected because he is a southpaw. A righty would have already been fired.2 points

https://fox59.com/indiana-news/lafayette-elementary-school-to-become-first-in-indiana-with-a-4-day-week/ Hmm. I assume teachers and administrators will still make their full salary as if they were teaching 5 days a week, and now they even get more time off during the calendar year. And support staff that gets paid hourly, like custodians and cafeteria workers, will make less. Nice. And the real losers will be the children. The dumbing down of the government school system. Maybe this will make more parents decide to home school their children.2 points

I don't think he'll ever live this down, so that's enough for me. I have no control over what other entities might do, such as his employer or the Indiana Fever. Honestly it wouldn't bother me if the entire Indystar empire ceased to exist. It was the most toxic work environment I've ever seen.2 points

No one in my mind has been more woke than Doyel over the years, especially going beyond sports to dive at political issues such as covid vaccines, (picking on certain athletes while letting others off the hook) civil war monuments, gun control, etc. Hard to earn much empathy from the local reader base when they have read his countless attacks over the years in the Star and on social media. His apologies through the Star and social media....many not sure they are sincere. Live by the sword...die by the sword.....2 points

I get it, but when you go to Snider High School, it does not say Fort Wayne Snider at the entrance.2 points

I would say Howard County has multiple high schools (throw Eastern (Greentown) in there as well), not the city of Kokomo. Although Taylor is close. Residents of the Northwestern and Western school districts want nothing to with the city itself, other than a job a Chrysler/Stellantis transmission plant. The city of Kokomo did once have two high schools. Haworth High school was open from 1968 to 1984, and the current Kokomo high school building on the southwest side was originally the Haworth building. IIRC Haworth had it's own sport facilities except for basketball where both schools shared historic Memorial gymnasium, a decision that rankled a lot of Kokomo fans at the time.2 points

Hall of Fame Coach Mike Spencer who coached at Perry Central, Tell City and Corydon Central passed yesterday. I personally did not know Coach Spencer, but this is a blow to the coaching community in southern Indiana. While he was retired, he was still around the game and Corydon Central athletics. I know many people who had wonderful things to say about him. He will be missed by us, and I am sure by those in Perry County as well. Condolences to his family and friends. I know this was on the main page, but this affects the MSC and PLAC specifically.2 points

today i am going to introduce you all to the strategy that guides my betting, for educational purposes something tells me if you want entertainment to read quickly as usual if you take me seriously it is your own damn fault I call it the circle line dot NP strategy. first a few rules/suggestions 1. beware of special teams that break the system, such as EC the last two years. 2. high volume of small bets 3. look for fans of teams to bet against, not neutral people - for instance: it is a lot harder to get @temptation to take only 19 points for a random team he isn't affiliated with, then it would be for say the father of the quarterback of that team 4. you're going to be betting on a lot of potential blowouts, once you find your target fan, throw out arbitrary numbers that aren't as lopsided as they seem, and then double down until they are sick of your arrogance and their ego accepts your terms. ok now on to the meat of the betting strategy: bet on teams inside of the circle of victory bet on teams south of the line of dominance bet on teams at the dots of success (if you think your team should be on the other side of the line or inside the dots it probably should, i did this on a track pad leave me alone) and last but not least "NP" the notable privates you know who they are, dont be afraid to put your faith on memorial, or andrean, vs some of the less notable schools under the line, but be weary of the circle finally: don't play yourself, if you lose betting on ips schools its on you not the system1 point

Damnit Rodney, you are going to upset all the Karens on this site!!! Also, you forgot the biggest rule of all, always bet against Merrillville when they have at least 45 D1 players!!!1 point

Is it? My mind would go there with any school that is on their 4th HC in 7 years. Especially with the one they just ran off having won Marion County Coach of the Year the year before. I would hope the Administration realizes that they will be losing talent to the new top program in the south (Center Grove) now so this may not be the prime opportunity they think it is. Unless LH is returning from college to carry the ball 40+ times a game I don’t think the Admin will be happy with anyone. Do you have any thoughts that would be constructive to this topic?1 point

people calling you non neutral are in fact non neutral themselves... honestly u can take the line out of the equation and just stick a dot on ec if u want1 point

By the end of the game, I’m not sure Penn even had 15 able-bodied players left on either defense or special teams.1 point
-
I’ve posted this on here multiple times and will again since it seems Penn fans can now comfortably joke about it. Warren could’ve scored 100 that night.1 point

Look at it this way. If they cut the state in half that year, Penn would have been state champions.1 point

I know it was a very small dataset, but you could see in the scrimmage that Westfield was going to have trouble against Ben Davis. They could not keep BD's defensive line out of their offensive backfield.1 point

Bruce was big, but he might have been the fifth back on the depth chart for that team. Post and Boehnlein were strong sturdy runners. T-West was, of course, the speed guy, and we had Tyler Iams and Frank Duong competing for reps, too. My recollection of that game is basically gone, but, I seem to remember Valpo making a goal line stand that you describe in regulation in the South end zone. They beat us in OT in the North end zone that year. Unfortunately, I've lost track of the highlight tapes from those years––so I can't verify anything. I'm much sharper when it comes to '02. Same thing happened that year except worse. We had at least three drives get killed inside Valpo's five. Same scenario as you described, except we ran all of the backs into stacked boxes in that game.1 point

I like how he added male and femail athletes should be compensated the same. LOL. Bill Burr has a great bit at his Red Rock's show about the pay scale between the NBA and WNBA.1 point

Penn was good that year. Missed opportunities are a tough pill to swallow. Homestead was also very good that year. Both teams would like a do over I'm sure.1 point
