  1. They never had to play Mark James and the Giants . Just kidding. Congratulations to La Lumiere for representing Indiana basketball on the national stage so well.
  2. Warren or BD could go 9-0 and lose to the other one in the first game of the Sectional.
  3. BD's loaded on offense with Reese Taylor and a speedy receivng corps back. The Giants will be there at the end assuming they survive the brutal run to Lucas Oil Stadium. That said, who cares what Center Grove does in the regular season...Coach Moore doesn't. They'll likely be there in the Semi-State for BD or Warren or HSE or Fishers. Carmel trades out HSE/Fishers for Westfield...interesting swap. Most years, the Greyhounds should still be the favorite out of the north with Penn or Snider a solid threat. Ranking the MIC... I think LC has enough to get into the top half of the MIC, so I think BD, WC, Carmel, LC/CG a solid 4 or 5 Then LN, NC, and Pike.
  4. Your current week 9 is no slouch, either.
  5. When isn't a Warren-Center Grove game super rough? Any time we play either of those two or Carmel, it seems someone gets banged up...no matter what happens.
  6. Haven't seen this discussed on here yet... http://wane.com/2017/05/11/former-saint-francis-player-mike-brevard-tabbed-to-lead-legends/ Congrats to Ben Davis Alum, Michael Brevard, on being named the head coach at Fort Wayne North Side. Michael has a heck of a story, and this is really awesome that he's getting this opportunity. Good luck to the Legends.
  7. I was just throwing that scenario out there. You guys are right.
  8. Ask LN, LC, Ben Davis or Warren if they will feel "cheap" about winning Sectional next year.
  9. Given the Sectional challenge and road to the State Championship, I would have thought they might have wanted to keep the week open. Good for Warren picking up someone.
  10. Definitely was needed. Ben Davis tore out its old visitors side media box (was the old press box dating back some 30-35 years). Currently nothing is there, but I believe they are planning to replace it with a similar structure.
  11. BD-WC isn't what it was 10 years ago. The gate's nowhere near what it used to be. Avon-Ben Davis was full both times they played last year, and the Brownsburg-Ben Davis game was standing room only. Pike-Ben Davis also sold out. If you're telling me that Lawrence North/BD or Lawrence Central/BD will do better than the Pike, Avon or Brownsburg gates, I'd challenge that assessment.
  12. I think you'd have a lot of interest in these games.
  13. Why don't we stick Warren in with Center Grove? Makes as much sense as BD driving past Franklin Central to play Warren. Geographically, BD belongs with Avon, Brownsburg, and Pike. PERIOD.
  14. Since BD has been paired in 6A in that Sectional... 2013-Pike 2014-Ben Davis 2015-Avon 2016-Ben Davis It's hardly been dominant. BD is nine miles away from Pike. Pike now must go across town to face Fishers or HSE and BD has lost three "big gate" rivalry games to pick up a possible Warren game (not to mention near 25 mile drives across busy Indianapolis). It's the same for Warren Central. Why is it fair to "stick it to" (so to speak) Warren or BD when they clearly are two of the best in the state most years and now must play in Sectional. It was the same deal when the IHSAA found a way to put Carmel in the same Sectional with Warren for two years. Don't tell us drive time, location, etc. means anything. If you're pairing for the best matchups, let's seed the whole tournament and make sure BD and Warren don't draw each other in the first round of Sectional. Let's make sure they are on opposite sides of the Semi-State if it's about competition. Should have seen the full stadium at Brownsburg last year or at Pike or at Ben Davis or at Avon when these teams locked up in Sectional. Sadly, the IHSAA must not have.
  15. Another idea... Sectional 5-BD, Avon, Brownsburg, Pike Sectional 6-HSE, Fishers, NC, WC Sectional 7-Perry, Southport, LN, LC Sectional 8-CG, FC, Jeffersonville, Columbus North
