  1. "My God, I want to throw up". Loved listening to the announcers.
  2. No, I was battling a case of walking pneumonia and thought it best to stay home. The cool, damp weather wouldn't have helped in the healing process.
  3. True about always playing on Sunday, but the Colts traditionally host a game on Thanksgiving weekend. I admit I'm guilty of no longer making the drive downtown and watching the games on TV. First, parking for at least $10, then $15 a ticket + high concession prices. This year there really wasn't a game that appealed to me to make the trip. Add to that the college games on TV and it was much more comfortable staying at the domicile and taking it all in from the recliner.
  4. Just on paper, the 5A game looks to be the most entertaining. The 6A game would appear to be the 2nd-most interesting. New Pal and Snider may blow out the bulbs on the scoreboard. I'm looking forward to seeing the Linton/LCC game, no matter how it may look on paper. I see LCC and you don't see the emotion, almost the 'been there, done that' type of attitude. I think Linton can ride the emotion of that first state finals appearance, maybe not for 4 quarters, but if they can hang on for a half, you never know what might happen.
  5. Do you folks even comprehend what you read? It's not about getting a wing-T coach, but the BEST COACH possible. Whoever they hire would be an absolute moron to try to install another offense. Would you like someone who is a good organizer and motivator or just someone who ran that offense? I'm not taking shots. I was on your sideline at the LCC game and have supported the Panthers many times over the years (with the exception of the 2006 and 2008 regional championships). I just don't think you're getting the point of what some people are trying to say and you are quick to attack someone who may not have the same opinion as yourself. Maybe you really have been brainwashed.
  6. I wanted to let you know my 7-year old nephew listened to you do the game last Friday. You must have made an impression, as he did not want to stop listening after the game was over because he was waiting for Dan down on the field. Pretty cool hearing that from a 7-year old kid. He's pretty passionate about football, so if you got his attention you must have done an awesome job. Just wanted to share that with you.
  7. If you have the desire to move up, you gotta get while the gettin's good. One mediocre year and you're no longer the 'flavor of the week'.
  8. This is why they want another robot to run their system. Apparently the brainwashing is program-wide, coaches included.
  9. The last team to beat LCC ran out of some strange looking contraption on their field. Coincidence?........................................
  10. From what I was told, Red Stanley was credited with helping promote football in Westfield. Wasn't a coach, but a very dedicated citizen. Sheridan - Bud Wright Stadium Noblesville - I believe it's Swanson Field at Hare Chevrolet Stadium Both complexes in Fishers (Hamilton SE & FIshers) are Reynolds Stadium (after Reynolds Farm Equipment).
  11. I get what Bob's saying, and it makes perfect sense. Obviously, the committee is not going to hire who they think is not a worthy candidate, and this job should attract good candidates. Wouldn't that person be smart enough to know what's in place there, and not want to change things up? Cut to the scene in Hoosiers, everyone sitting around the barber shop. This time it's the Royal Center barber shop instead of Hickory: "Are you a wing-T disciple?" "What type of defense do you employ?" "Can you beat those damn Catholics from Lafayette?"
  12. I was watching FSMidwest last weekend and they had the Iowa semifinal games on. These were the 1A games and they were being played at the University of Northern Iowa, back to back. Thought that was interesting how they had indoor, neutral field semis with the four schools in that class all together. Semistates in Indiana are pretty amazing nights for football junkies. Imagine if we were heading to Marian University tomorrow for the 1A semistates, then U of I for the 2A. Just something that would be pretty cool if they'd be open to this idea.
  13. I can't wait for Sunday dinner. My sister-in-law is an administrator at Pioneer and I can't wait to hear what she has to say.
  14. Sheridan was in the Hoosier Conference during their 4-year state finals run from 2005-2008.
  15. I'm not trying to imply a mass exodus, it reminds me a little of when Quick left Clinton Central for Frankfort. I know the Rudd kid left CC for the Dogs, not sure about any others, but it's easy for people outside the programs to speculate. It would only take 1-2 kids to make an impact, not necessarily the entire team. Way too many legacy kids on the Panther roster to switch to the red and black. I get that.
