  1. As I expected, a little rough around the edges and sloppy. New coaches, new offense, new defense, new everything including the helmets. I enjoyed seeing the changes first hand, and watching the virtually all new staff work.
  2. Vikings scrimmaged North last Thursday
  3. Besides GS does anyone else have any impact transfers? Or maybe a player that didn't play last year (injury, didn't come out) but is going to this year.
  4. I didn't read all of it but I think it states that "if a team wins conference in prior year and returns nearly all their starters, said team cannot add a all conference transfer from similar conference."
  5. The rich get richer!! Easily one of the top coaching staffs in the area adds two (2) former head coaches to its staff (one of them a very successful head coach.) On top of that, one of the most talented and experienced teams in the area gets to add an "impact" transfer! Have you guys been getting guidance from some of the top private schools in the state? Well done Bishop Gibson or is it Gibson Southern Catholic?
  6. I hope you are correct, we won 4 games last year and graduated quite a few seniors. Everyone in our community is excited about the new coach and what he is bringing.
  7. According to Evansville Courier writer Kyle Sokeland on Twitter Gibson Southern senior to be Wes Obermeier (@wesleyobermeier) confirms that he has committed to play football at Ball State.
  8. As a fan of the game and PAC, I really like SRs QB and RB(s) but I can't say I think they are better then GS backfield. Also as a fan, I enjoy watching GSs front seven on defense but again I don't know if it's better than SRs front seven next year. I would pick GS to win right now, I can honestly say that truly pains me to say that! I look forward to the days the scoreboard in the watermelon bowl isn't soooooo lopsided.
  9. I'm hoping for a GS vs HH sectional championship!
  10. Yes, I heard we hired Louie Simmons as a strength coach. We also hired Victor Conte as a program nutritionist, and Ryan Flaherty as a speed coach/injury prevention guru. Exciting times in Northern Posey County
  11. I think if your going to discredit Goebel because of the New Albany loss then you have to do the same for Miller and the Bosse loss. The two teams had similar seasons, Washington won the Big 8 being the big difference. Head to head they had one win each, Jasper won 11 of its final 13 with its only two loses to New Albany and at Floyd Central in OT. Jasper had to replace 7 of the previous season's top 8 players. I think we all agree there was no one coach that was clearly the COY. I think you could make an argument for Tell City's first year coach Matt Lynch. Finished 13 -11 with what I believe was an all Sophomore/Freshmen team.
  12. I'm with you on that, I looked there hoping they had a free article. Thanks
  13. Dave, I spent about 10 minutes looking for some thing Coach Mattingly with no luck. Hopefully someone can chime in because I am curious as well. This is almost shocking, I still think of each one of them as being "new" on the job.
  14. I believe the AD's get together and vote on this, I can't see the SIAC AD's voting to move the sectional to Jasper.
  15. If you had the power or the ability to change one or two games on your schools schedule what would you do? At North Posey, I would love to drop non-conference (in football) Tecumseh and play a potential sectional opponent or another very well coached team. Unfortunately Tecumseh has had more down years that up lately and most of our recent games have been pretty one sided. Recently when we had a decent/good team our last four games have been pretty light. (Forest Park, Tell City, Tecumseh, and Pike Central) I would love to add Mater Dei, if that wasn't an option I would take many of the other SIAC schools. I would also be good with a couple of Big 8 schools as well.
