  1. Indeed and just what I told a guy the other day. if you got a dozen kids--field them and hope there aren't any injuries....
  2. Actually that is quite true, I can even think of one past GS player--top qb in 3A in the state that was even Catholic and wouldn't have to convert. Great kid by the way. Had the privilege of meeting him at a HH bball game.
  3. I totally agree Dave. You play tough schedules and get beat, you learn more than hanging 56 on a weak team. You play the hard teams and you will be hanging metal at the end of the field when you play varsity!
  4. It is the case that it is a rumor on the middle school team. I hope that is all it is. Surely we will scrape up a freshman team--if you can only get 11 freshman field them! (and then pray nobody gets hurt)
  5. Of those mentioned the rumor was Lopez was out. If that is not the case that would be spectacular. Rumors are just that, rumors, but when you start hearing the same thing from different people you start to wonder if they are true. I would hope we would field a freshman team even if we only have 15. They would learn a ton.
  6. Maybe, but from what I have seen the last few years GS makes the difference in the weight room, and with food. If anything impresses me about your program, it is that you are obviously getting your kids to understand the importance of not only the weight room but eating and eating right. From being a freshman to being a senior--that will make all the difference in the world.
  7. There is quite a bit of talk of course but the talk is that if there was a year for SR in the last several years this is it. Tucker Shank (I think that is how you spell it) is returning and I think he is just a Junior--the kid is impressive. A kid that goes to my church is a junior at SR in the fall and talking to him, it just looks to be a good year for them....but I know, how would you expect a conversation with a 16 year old kid to go about the upcoming season. SR was looking great last year and then there was that horrible beat down they took from Brownstown in the sectional championship. Wow, that was ugly.
  8. Me too--I have a desire to beat the Titans.
  9. Again, it is talk. We shall wait for a roster and hope for the best.
  10. Again, all just what I heard, but yeah, you got it. My understanding is that 8 seniors quit, which would leave 4 juniors. As for that 2004 team--that was one of the meanest, nastiest high school football teams I have ever seen anywhere. I think they would have taken on the Colts and smiled during the beat down. We will likely be OK, it is just concerning.
  11. Wish I was. I had heard that several quit, but then Sunday I heard the staggering numbers. Of course things go around, but you can't make this up. I never imagined that this would happen. Don't misunderstand, I think we will go .500 and finish in the top 3 of the PAC, but it could be a rough fall--to early to tell. Who knows, we may beat the snot out of your guys with half the people!!!!
  12. Dave, I heard the same thing on Sunday. No freshman team, one middle school team as supposedly there are not enough for 7th and 8th grade. Also, I have heard that we have dropped to about 37 on the varsity roster--can you confirm that?
  13. I think that Southridge may be really strong this year and give GS a challenge. As for us.....it is my understand that with the people that have quit we are down to under 40 on the varsity roster. Much hearsay but, I understand no freshman team and one middle school team. With that, I think we will be ok, as we have some talented guys, but fresh legs may be few and far between. I am hopeful. It'll be interesting. I am ready now!
  14. Who stepped down?
  15. I would say that we will be seeing lots of Keller at receiver next season, at least I hope we do. There aren't too many kids on the team faster than him, if any.
