  1. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

    Does assistant coach Miller teach?
  2. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

Oh please. . . . . East just scored 77 points on NA last week. If NA beats East in the next several years it will be historical. Jeffersonville and New Albany should be the powers in the HHC. They aren't the powers for several reasons, only a few of which occur on the athletic field. I would think Floyd Central will be the team most likely to challenge East in the future.
  3. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

Mr. Einstein (Dawg_Dad), I regularly read this site. My comments were based on contributors from Seymour, Bedford, Floyd Central, New Albany wishing and hoping to be able to compete with East someday. Wishing and hoping won't get it done, East is the fifth biggest school in HHC. They out work and out coach the rest of the conference. New Albany asked for a running clock in the second half against both Columbus schools last year. If East left HHC, it would be a very competitive conference. That's not likely to happen, although East tried to get out last year. I have commented before on this site how it's a mystery no one can compete with East. I feel the East program is set up for two goals. Beating Columbus North and going far in the tourney. The conference play is just something to do between the North game and the tourney starting.
  4. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

All this talk is interesting but until one of you beat East, you're all playing for second place. . . . . and you're not a close second.
  5. A little history for those of us not from Evansville. Who was F.J. Reitz?
  6. Class 6A-2017

2004 has no bearing on 2017. Warren Central is a different situation than then. If they play. . . Warren by three TDs
  7. Circle City Conference 2017

Columbus North plays Guerin and Roncalli in weeks three and four in 2018. I've heard it's a two year contract with Guerin and a four year deal with Roncalli.
  8. It's hard to believe we're into the second half of the season. Week Six in Conference Indiana. Bloomington South at Terre Haute South Panthers roll 28-14 Columbus North at Terre Haute North Bulldogs handle the Patriots 35-21 Franklin Central at Southport In what should be a good game, the Cardinals win 21-14 Perry Meridian at Bloomington North In what appears to be an even game, the home team Cougars win 17-14
  9. Conference Indiana Week 5

I these things run in cycles. Some years you have no injuries. Other years it seems like you don't have enough players because everyone is hurt. I think over years it averages out. Unfortunately the kids that get hurt don't have multiple years to play.
  10. 812 Football 2017

A potential future development might occur in the next re-classification. Columbus North is the 31st, out of 32, in class 6A. With probable success points, consolidation of the Elkhart and Indianapolis schools, and growing schools, the Bulldogs might slip to 5A. It would be interesting to what sectional C. North would fit into and who would be moved as a result.
  11. 812 Football 2017

I would put both Columbus schools and East Central ahead of the Evansville schools. I'd also move Floyd Central up behind B. South.
  12. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

I'd take East and give 28 points.
  13. Class 6A-2017

Let's be realistic. Everyone is playing for second place. Barring a down game or key injuries, Ben Davis is going to win the 6A championship. I would guess FW Snider is a top six teams in 6A and will probably make it to the finals if they can beat Carmel, never an easy task in the tourney.
  14. Conference Indiana Week 5

I will be surprised if they loose in the conference. They've beaten two of the three teams in the conference that are at the top year in and year out, Bloomington South and Columbus North. The only team left that might be able to beat them is Southport. Franklin Central and Columbus North are in the same sectional now, so a rematch is a possibility. If that happens, I doubt FC will be able to control the ball for 35 out of the 48 minutes. Center Grove and Jeffersonville are the other two teams in that sectional.
