  1. Princeton is going to struggle this year, rebuilding with a new coach and a good amount of young players. I fear this will be a rough year for the tigers.
  2. What sectional would they play in?
  3. I know consolidation can be a touchy subject, but I generally support it. Allowing more state funding and competition in schools creates a better environment for students. Best of luck to the new school. I don't believe either school has football. Will they be picking it up?
  4. The season may be underway, but the Big 8 hasn't started inter-conference play yet. Feel free to make predictions. Mine are as follows: 1. Jasper 2. Mt. Vernon 3. Vincennes 4. Boonville 5. Washington 6. Princeton 7. Mt. Carmel This is a tough one because 3-6 are all pretty close. Princeton lost a lot, and they'll be rebuilding this year. With a new coach, it'll take a lot to get 3+ conference wins. Mt. Vernon is a good team and I could see them taking the title, but Jasper shouldn't ever be written off. Mt. Carmel struggled last year, and it seems like they may continue that trend.
  5. Do they literally eat steak and beans or is that an expression?
  6. Princeton is, and has always been, a school with potential. However, Princeton has a unique situation. The environment in this town, and especially school, is much more of a discipline issue. Finding a coach that can harness this potential and make it into a successful team, and allowing him time to create that team will take several years. But players are often discouraged after not seeing results quickly.
  7. I had a feeling Princeton would be facing a regime change soon. It's easier to transition when half the conference is also getting a new coach. However, I don't necessarily think Princeton will have as much success as the last few seasons.
  8. Well of course you don't want to fire a coach who's winning, but you don't want to be complacent either.
  9. I think it's good to see change. Stagnation is never good for a program, especially smaller rural districts.
  10. Wow, Boonville goy a new coach a few years ago, Princeton got one 5 years ago, and now Mt. Vernon and Vincennes both got new ones this year. It seems like the big 8 is experiencing a huge overhaul.
  11. This season princeton has replaced Wood Memorial with Evansville North and Pike Central with south spencer (so I've heard). I'm not sure how these teams match up. I would say both should be good challenges for Princeton the first 2 weeks. Thoughts?
  12. I remember when he was an assistant at Red Hill. He's definitely a great pick up for Wood, I really look forward to seeing them get on track this season. They've got nowhere to go but up.
  13. The cluster system was broken. The current system isn't perfect, but I believe the best way to fix it is seeding the top 2. This is the kind of system I like.
  14. My. Carmel continues to mow down the competition. Washington is the last chance for someone to stop their onslaught of Big 8 teams.
  15. So far my predictions are shaping up nicely. I an impressed by Boonville though. They're definitely preforming better than I anticipated.
