  1. I say this was the inevitable result of the NCAA’s stupid policies over the years — which have been replaced by NIL & the transfer portal. This is like a state legalizing cannabis. Do you let the people out of jail who broke the law when it was illegal? Do you automatically expunge their convictions?

Is it? My mind would go there with any school that is on their 4th HC in 7 years. Especially with the one they just ran off having won Marion County Coach of the Year the year before. I would hope the Administration realizes that they will be losing talent to the new top program in the south (Center Grove) now so this may not be the prime opportunity they think it is. Unless LH is returning from college to carry the ball 40+ times a game I don’t think the Admin will be happy with anyone. Do you have any thoughts that would be constructive to this topic?

You have to admit, suggesting - even tongue in cheek - that a rich donor ran the coach off isn’t exactly flattering the program.

Who does the IHSAA "brass/higher ups/executive committees" quote/unquote have to "answer to??" Like...who hires these positions? And...who/do they have bosses to answer to?

Ultimately, the governing body of a group of members answers to … the members. The IHSAA bylaws specify the process by which the IHSAA Commissioner’s office runs the day to day activities, while the Executive Committee (elected by the Members) oversees them. Pretty much the way most corporations operate: shareholders elect a Board of Directors, who hire the CEO and oversee operations.

Only when football is more important than morality. He'll be remembered first and foremost as a psychopath killer, football player second.

Which I find interesting, since he was acquitted of the crime.

Pete Koulianos was hired/ approved as the New Head Football Coach of Lake Central HS at last night's school board meeting.

Coach Koulianos did a great job starting the Hanover Central program, and then returning Highland to competitiveness. This will be a formidable challenge for him.

  6. In fairness, I think we should entertain the possibility that this is simply a generational thing. So much is different now from the “good old days” that I can conceive of the combination of great skill and “now” generation sensitivities being compatible, and not a hindrance.

Look at me, all silver lining …

Since 2018, I haven't heard a negative word about the Hanover Central coaching staff. I've met a few folks who aren't "best buds" with BoBref's nephew by any means (sorry if I'm aiding in rule breaking here, just using what was given to me lol). But I haven't heard, or seen myself, a thing done that would suggest the Hanover coaching staff engages in behavior that would cause Southern Lake County animosity to be a thing.

However, I won't tell you (@scarab527) what you've heard, seen, experienced, or otherwise. Just expressing that in the last 6 seasons, I haven't heard anything negative about the Hanover Central coaching staffs behavior on Friday Nights.

The prevailing sentiment in the Region.

Just keep in mind that HC has overmatched quite a few teams in the last few seasons. There are bound to be some sour grapes out there.
