  1. Does Owen deny transfers? Not sure I've heard of any trying & blocked like Harrison. I know Owen accepts them, like the little RB Dorian Williams from Bosse & heard a Safety from Castle transferred there this year.
  2. Speer's has a history of denying transfers to ANY SIAC school. Funny how quickly he welcomed Hedgepath & Harvey from North, Stewart from Bosse, Shoulders from Memorial, along with McBride & Welder from Castle. Those were some key players for their 2015 Sectional Championship team.
  3. If some of these Sectional "projections" are correct, could be an interesting Sectional 16 with Castle, Ev North, Floyd Central & New Albany. We all know New Albany has athletes & IMO have improved under the new coach last couple years. Floyd was a good team last year, Castle is the 2 time champion but loses a lot, Ev North is an unknown.
  4. Camp is this Sunday at Evansville North High School. Only a couple QB spots left. Also having a youth camp (K-5th grade). https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSedqULh_4MgdD7kYFwiG2y9aGYIppljoA66vv9KKl-TusHVbQ/viewform
  5. Only 5 QB spots left in Evansville, camp is filling up fast!
  6. Spots for QB's are filing up fast. The EQA camp in Paducah, KY on Feb 19th only has 2 spots left. Evansville camp sells out every year here.
  7. Maybe I'm wrong but doesn't Reitz loss Ashby, Volkman & Freels up front on Defense? All 6'4" kids that played well. Along with #2 & #51. Also losing E Dunham & Brinton in the secondary will have to be replaced. Based on how good Reitz was this year after losing a great senior class last year, I have no doubts they will good again. Just pointing out they lose some really good players.
  8. I would agree with this, it's really early & always interesting to see kids step up when they get their shot. Teams like Reitz, Central & Memorial have the most returning, but everyone has some good players to replace. Not sure if it will be as even as this past year but sure hope so, made every Friday night exciting. Not sure if I ever remember the SIAC having 6 teams ranked in their respective classes before?
  9. I agree! Marian & USF are 2 of the top 5 NAIA teams in the country, would say they can play with most FCS teams in the country, not just D2. The talent level is really good & you're right, both have D1 dudes that transferred to them. Antonio Allen was All-Big 10 as a Soph, he plays for Marian now. Marian RB Gore (Frank Gore's nephew) signed at LSU before coming to Marian. UIndy (D2) dropped Marian after getting beat badly last couple years. Indiana State (FCS) won't play either now. I was at the Marian & USF game this year, great game & atmosphere. Just too big of difference in 18 year olds & 21 year old college men.
  10. Clinic is full, can call Aaron Elliott to be added to the wait list. Other clinic dates & locations will be announced soon.
  11. Hard to rank 1-8 today, I would say there's 3 "tiers" at this point, with all teams having holes to fill & questions. Tier 1: Central & Memorial Tier 2: Castle, Reitz & MD Tier 3: Harrison, North & Bosse I do think Central & Memorial are the early favorites, both had really good teams & return a lot of key players. Tier 2 are solid teams & programs, going to be in the mix every year. I don't know what exactly Tier 3 teams have returning, all lost some good players. Not sure at this point the SIAC will be as competitive top to bottom as this year. I've never seen the league tougher week in & week out in a long time!
  12. Never too early for football predictions, that's why this point exists! I know JV & Freshman records don't mean much, but it does give some ideas of talent coming up or not IMO. Castle went undefeated in JV last year & think they lost 1 to Reitz (like 8-7) this year. @Rathernot you've right, some good kids coming up & will be excited to get their chance I'm sure. QB will be interesting with Soph Moore (who did a nice job when Keller went down against Memorial) & the Frosh Harpenau. People are talking about the Frosh WR (Heubner), anxious to see him play. Not sure anybody ever "replaces" a kid like Bailey at 6'5" 300, special kid on & off the field, that's why he's headed to play at Vandy in the SEC.
  13. Not sure how Harrison or North will be. Harrison needs another big "transfer" class like last year, lol.
  14. Reitz & MD are always tough, both well coached teams. I was simply going off top of my head, Memorial & Central have a lot returning from really good teams. Castle should be in the mix, will have to see how they replace those 3. Usually kids step up when they get a chance. Most people mourned when Gilles & Jon Marc Anderson left with all the records in 2012 & a Sectional. 4 years later Keller & McLean leave after breaking all those same records, 2 Sectionals & 1 Regional. Heard the Frosh QB & WR broke all the records this year, so maybe another "duo" coming? It's what makes high school football special IMO.
  15. Would say Central & Memorial are early favorites, based off what they lose/return.
