      Corrupt files   07/26/2017

The server files for the forum were lost early in the morning 26,July 2017.   I restored the forum but using a fresh install of the forum software but we lost all of the images stored on the server. The way I see it... no big deal as it gives us a fresh start.   Over the next couple days I will restore the images I have saved for the forum. but I do not have everyone personal image. You can easily restore that yourself. Any pictures shared in a post that were stored here are also gone... again a fresh start of no clutter.    I just wanted to let you know what was going on. This will display until 1, Sept 2017.

  1. Can somebody please explain exactly what this Lafayette "city speed" actually means?
  2. Last Chance U

Yes, I forgot the assistant. You are correct about the OC, it was mentioned at the end where it highlighted where the featured individuals ended up after the season was over.
  3. Definitely a multiple time offender.
  4. Sagamore Conference 2017

Of course! One of the best mascots in the state.
  5. Last Chance U

Well I finished season #2 last night. Buddy Stephens really hasn't changed, and his paranoia-fueled tirade toward his OC on the sideline of the bowl game just proves that. Good to see the OC, DC, QB Coach and academic adviser move on to hopefully better opportunities. As of course the players. Also looks like season #3 moves away from EMCC to a junior college in Kansas: http://www.sportingnews.com/ncaa-football/news/10-things-about-icc-before-last-chance-u-season-3/6nu7yru7zi51tra0vvyej3l9
  6. Sagamore Conference 2017

Sorry, not a fan of the new 'front facing' depiction of the Frankfort Hot Dog mascot: The classic depiction as shown on the helmets is much, much better.
  7. The Indianapolis Star gets in on the act, but of course with a central Indiana team focus: http://www.indystar.com/picture-gallery/sports/high-school/2017/08/10/which-central-indiana-school-has-coolest-helmet/104471988/ Of all those I am still partial to the Avon Orioles, without the inclusion of the Clinton Central Bulldogs of course.
  8. IT'S SCRIMMAGE TIME!

No worries for the Knights. Hopefully the Hot Dogs can come out of this scrimmage without some severe injuries. As I have said before the FHS football program is "4A" in name only, much like LCC and "1A".

Watched the first two episodes of season #2 last night. Coach Stephens so far has kept his voluminous profanity in check, although he slipped in the tail end of the first game where they were playing short-handed. And at least one of the players highlighted on this season appears to have a significant case of ADD/ADHD.
  10. "football and school don't go together"

And I tend to agree with you . I just wish the NCAA and it's member schools would just end the sham that is the 'student-athlete'. It is now the 'athlete-student' with the student part of that equation becoming increasingly marginalized.
  11. "football and school don't go together"

My suspicion is, that at least for the money making D1 sports, scholarships athletes in this sport are required to spend more than 30 hours a week on that sport. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/pac-12-study-reveals-athletes-too-exhausted-to-study-effectively/ http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/sports/college/2008-01-12-athletes-full-time-work-study_n.htm https://www.forbes.com/sites/bdavidridpath/2016/01/26/it-is-time-to-re-frame-college-athletes-time-commitments/#46579fdcbc62
  12. "football and school don't go together"

Beyond the financial considerations do you also place any stock in Mr. Rosen's assertion that more and more D1 athletics like football and basketball is "like trying to do two full-time jobs"? That the time demands put on these student-athletes from the athletic side is simply becoming too much?
  13. http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/20284353/josh-rosen-ucla-bruins-says-football-school-go-together-ponders-alabama-success-sat-requirement-raised Young Mr. Rosen is correct.

Pride in one's community is a strong emotion. Good luck. Better get on the phone to the Indiana National Guard.
