About Me

Enjoy high school and college ball a lot more than NFL. The game's purer and there's still a level of the game that's still all about the game. I enjoy coaching football for several reasons. I was lucky enough, growing up, that there were several good men that stepped up and coached on the teams that I played on across two states. I learned a lot from them, not only about football, but more importantly about life. In part, I'm the person that I am today because of their efforts, guidance, and selflessness. I wanted to, in a roundabout way, "pay that forward." I also wanted to give something back to the community. Lastly, there's nothing more enjoyable than being someone that helps a kid who has no idea what the game is develop not only a knowledge of the game, but an appreciation and affinity for the game. In coaching, there are so many victories that happen during the season, mainly off of the field, but one of the greatest feelings is to fast forward about a decade and visit with your former players when they are adults and to hear them relive the lessons learned that came as a result of your work with them. There's an old quote that says something like, "There's no better exercise for the heart than lifting people up." As a coach, that is most certainly true.
