      Corrupt files   07/26/2017

The server files for the forum were lost early in the morning 26,July 2017.   I restored the forum but using a fresh install of the forum software but we lost all of the images stored on the server. The way I see it... no big deal as it gives us a fresh start.   Over the next couple days I will restore the images I have saved for the forum. but I do not have everyone personal image. You can easily restore that yourself. Any pictures shared in a post that were stored here are also gone... again a fresh start of no clutter.    I just wanted to let you know what was going on. This will display until 1, Sept 2017.

Is Anquan Boldin a future HOF WR?

Recommended Posts

I saw that Anquan Bolin agreed to a contract with the Buffalo Bills today for his 15th season in the NFL.  I only bring up this question because when looking at his current career stats and what he could probably do with an average season, he'll be towards the top of many career WR statistical categories.

Currently:

1,076 receptions - 9th all time (and 1 of only 14 ever with 1,000+ receptions)

13,779 yards - 14th all time

82 touchdowns - 23rd all time

Now to really put into perspective where a decent season could put him this year, he only needs 27 receptions to pass Marvin Harrison for 4th all time in receptions, 801 yards to be 8th all time in yards and 7 touchdowns for 13th all time in receiving touchdowns.  Considering he's averaged 68 rec, 687 yards and 6 TDs the last two years he's played, it's not out of the realm of possibility for him to reach these standards.  Granted, Jason Witten and Larry Fitzgerald are two current players that could affect his true standing depending on how their seasons go as well, but being in the Top 5, 10 and 15 in the three major categories for his career... interesting conversation in my opinion.

If I was voting he would be.  (HOF)

It's just interesting. I feel like when you think of HOF caliber WRs from his generation, names like Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson and Reggie Wayne are guys that I feel like I would immediately put in front of Anquan, but even with just 600 yards and 2 TDs this season (he's already passed them all in receptions) he'll have better career statistics than the Johnson's and Wayne.  Definitely an under the radar, all-time great.  It'll be interesting to see when he becomes eligible how long/if he makes it into the Hall of Fame.

I would agree.  For several years now, I've noticed he seems to be a top 5 guy about every year.  Not saying he is, just it seems he is.  As you said, he's one of those "under the radar" type of players.  Maybe it has to do with the team they play for or the market they are in.  I'd guess he'll make the hall, it will just be a matter of when.
