It seems this topic has lost interest. After last weeks results everyone thinks the results are already in. Batesville still has a game to play and should take care of business to wrap the crown up on Friday. I am interested to see what Greensburg team shows up. They played their best game against B-ville, will they play as hard or just fold their tents. EC on the other hand doesn't want to finish third in conference. This could be the best game to watch as far as intensity. Lawrenceburg and SD should be the closest of the three.

Cottage v. Caskets--Is this a potential trap game? Will the weather be a factor against Batesville? Are the Dogs overconfident? The answers are NO, NO, and NO. It would normally be easy to look past an 0-7 team, but the Honda boys slowed the Dogs last week, and Batesville wants to prove that they can execute and score. I'm sure the FC offense will pull out some trickeration, but the BHS defense is allowing less than 10 ppg now, and I think they'll be solid in the rain. Batesville is playing for their first outright EIAC crown in at least 44 years (the records are not quite clear about 1965). Some say it will be Batesville's first ever OUTRIGHT if they win. I'm saying they do, 34-6. FYI--Batesville Alumni are meeting at Tuba's in town after the game for chicken and Falls City. Everyone is welcome if you want to stop by. Carl might even buy you a beer if you identify...

Hondaburg v. Teamsters--I think this one will be more interesting than people think. I was impressed with the Pirate line on both sides of the ball last week. They are more athletic and quicker than EC's, though EC is bigger. G'burg needs to move the ball through the air to win, and I'm not sure they can. EC has some good kids in the secondary. I would really like to see this game, this year, at Greensburg. Since it's in Condomland, I'll go with the Trojans by 10. Plus, the Peterbilt horn is way more obnoxious than the Civic horn.

Game of the Week--Stinktown v. River Rats. This game is at the Pit. Think mud bog. Think wet, six inch high grass where there is any. Think about having no idea where the yardlines or sidelines are. Think about bringing some good rain gear and being there for a while because this one is going to OT. Triple OT. The Clown's boys finish at midnight, and win by two. The laundry moms are pissed.

My how times have changed...... no trash talking G'burg - EC fans.... and now Batesville has the quick witted posters.....

I must admit the Peterbilt horns vs the civic horns made me chuckle.... Batesville outright conference champs....then they play the Connersville Animals.... B'ville 9-0 in '09!!!

The Pirate's line play needs to be a mirror image, if not better, than last week. We have to get the ball in the hands of Balusik (FB) and Slusher (HB). Not sure the Pirates can win through the air either. The Pirates must ELIMINATE the mental errors and "bone headed" penalties and for God's sake don't fumble the ball.

EC fans. Can anyone educate me on EC's passing game? I already know they can run the ball.

Greensburg played a great game last week against Batesville only giving up one defensive TD. They controlled the line of scrimage on both sides, the running game behind Balusik was in form. I would have liked to seen Slusher with more carries at tailback. Direct snaps to him does not utilize his talents as a runner. Poor play calling in the red zone, and penalties costs them the game. It will be interesting to see if the team can gain the enthusiasm they had last week. No they are not a good passing team, although I think some quick hitting slants and screens should be used more. The wet conditions may help the Pirates over the Trojans.

Figured I would make a reply just to p u off. Anyway you look at it Gburg lost last week and they will lose this week. I am guessing by 28. They haven't beat anyone with more than 2 wins this season and probably won't unless ND can beat SD. Then Gburg can hang their hat on beating a 1a team with 3 wins. Face it good football in Gburg is dead. Now back to my Griffith forum. :lol:

So how are you related to Schrieber? The stands are still full the boys are playing hard. Not many upperclassmen in the skilled postion. Losing to Batesville after giving up only one defensive TD is pretty positive considering they are undefeated. No way EC wins by 28. Do us all a favor and stay on the Griffith forum.

Not related to him. I am tall and fast. He is short and slow. Just played football with him from 3rd grade through high school. So you think EC can't score on defense either or don't those scores count in your eyes. I bet Gburg doesn't score tomorrow so 28-0 isn't that far fetched. The only thing in your favor is Schreiber is gone so EC won't run it up. You know the bad blood and controversial warm up stuff is gone. Now EC can start treating you guys like little b!tches again and you will all take it. I can't go to the Griffith forum. I got kicked off for talking about the EIAC. Everyone up here thinks you guys blow so this is all I have left.

EC passing game is solid but not as explosive as the past few years. Deters is getting more experience at qb every week and he tends to throw the ball to hall a lot. I believe the loss of lozier earlier in the season has hurt the passing game. Deters also uses the big tight end a lot. They even get the speedster rauch in on the action. But still the trojans are a run first/pass second team. I expect a lower scoring game with the wet field conditions. It might come down to special teams and who makes a mistake to give the other team a short field.
