The banquets are coming to end and the winter work outs are starting.........any news or word on NIC schools for 2017?

I see where Mishawaka has dropped Cathedral and picked up Chicago Marist according to John Harrell's sight

I believe he took a job at John Young Middle School.

Knight 1121:  I heard that you were on the selection committee for the Clay football coach.  If so can you give us an update.  I have heard some name(s) of  some highly  UNqualified people were interviewed.

I was on the committee to hire the new coach.  Four were interviewed and three had head coaching experience.  Two from out of town.  An offer has been extended and accepted pending board approval.

Please tell me it is not this Will Porter? http://indianahsfootball.homestead.com/files/logs257.htm

Awfully judgy aren't we?  Clay is not exactly a destination job right now for numerous reasons.  Let's keep the negativity to ourselves.  Thanks and have a great day!

I agree my tone was not the greatest.  I just believe Clay is behind the other schools in South Bend.  They had a coach that had the potential to level the playing field a little bit, a rift occurred, and not that have a coach with a below 17% career winning pct.  I think athletes deserve someone that will give them a chance.  I hope I am wrong, and if I do, I will eat crow.

No harm no foul.  From the outside looking in I can see where you are coming from but we can agree to disagree on your point about the last coach.  There were many reasons he was not successful at Clay and about half fell on him.  The other half would have plagued any coach and will continue to plague the next one.  Bottom line is Clay is a dying school athletically.  Look at all the sports, not just football.  A resurrected Bear Bryant could not win at Clay in the present circumstances.  If those do not change it does not matter who the coach is.

Can anyone confirm this? Wonder why they would make that change, unless Catherdral asked them to so they could play someone else?

If SB Clay's head football coach makes almost $9,000, then I am severely under paid.

The Cleveland Browns Head Coach makes $3.5 million.  We are all severely underpaid.

St Joe and Penn baseball are both playing for Semi-State titles tomorrow.  Good luck to both teams.

I was wondering how many football players are playing baseball.  In today's age of specialization, it would be interesting to know.
