      Corrupt files   07/26/2017

The server files for the forum were lost early in the morning 26,July 2017.   I restored the forum but using a fresh install of the forum software but we lost all of the images stored on the server. The way I see it... no big deal as it gives us a fresh start.   Over the next couple days I will restore the images I have saved for the forum. but I do not have everyone personal image. You can easily restore that yourself. Any pictures shared in a post that were stored here are also gone... again a fresh start of no clutter.    I just wanted to let you know what was going on. This will display until 1, Sept 2017.

A new chapter with a new Head Coach that has Indiana roots.  The Dude hopes to see a paradigm shift in B-town.

Tom Allen isn't starting from scratch like some of his predecessors, so lets hope we're able to see continued upward progression previously started by the man who brought Allen to Bloomington. I'm interested to see what unfolds this offseason. IU in theory returns all but 1 starter on a much improved defense though wouldn't be shocked if guys like Scales, Oliver, and Fant tested the waters as each had great individual seasons. Offense is going to be the major issue next year. Gone is Dan Feeney who quietly is one of the most impactful players in program history. Paige and Jones are gone but IU gets a healthy Simmie Cobbs back and hopefully J-Shun Harris is able to fill the role of Mitchell Paige. Add in Westbrook and once again IU has a deep receiving corp. IU returns 3-4 backs, including Redding, who all contributed this year. QB play will make or break next year. Think we all saw glimpses of greatness with Lagow and his arm strength but his inconsistency proved costly all year. You'd think another year in the system would be beneficial for him but with Wilson gone I'm not sure what direction the offense will go in or if he'll ever develop into an asset at the QB position. Wouldn't be shocked if IU turned the reigns over to one of the young guys like Austin King or Peyton Ramsey. Both are more mobile than Lagow and better to throw them in the fire earlier in their careers than later.

And fix the special teams. IU needs a back up kick ready to go. Oakes when from major asset to major liability quickly and needs to be on the shortest of leashes. IU needs a new punter. Gideon was simply woeful.

2017 Hoosiers: If the QB play is similar to this year, 4-8 or 5-7. If Lagow shows what we have seen glimpses of, and cuts down on turnovers and poor decisions.... 6-6, maybe 7-5.

Keep up the good work in 2017 Dude!

IU has actually hired Mike DeBord to replace Kevin Johns as OC. DeBord is a Muncie native who spent last year as Tennessee's OC. Good hire.

Don't know much about Heard. But I know DeBord travels a lot. Not been anywhere very long.

Tom Brady thanks him.  And that National Championship ring surely has some sort of to recruiting advantages don't you think?

Sure do., again, he has to stick around for it to be a recruiting advantage. Jumping form job to job may put up a red flag for some players, recruits. The coaching aspect wont be affected.

You're not wrong.  If it's any consolation, he's been quoted saying he's looking to retire soon and had a desire to get back to his family here in Indiana.  Seems to be a no-brainer for both parties.  Hope it works out.

Houston offensive line coach Darren Hiller will join the Indiana staff, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman. Hiller spent 2016 at USF and previously at Cincinnati. He and Tom Allen worked together at Arkansas State in 2011.

A source tells CoachingSearch that Central Michigan running backs coach Nick Sheridan will join the Indiana staff as quarterbacks coach. Sheridan spent the last three years as a graduate assistant at Tennessee and had recently joined CMU. At Tennessee, he spent two years with new Indiana offensive coordinator Mike DeBord. He also played under DeBord at Michigan.

IU has now lost their 2 best position coaches in McCullough and Frey.  Those 2 units (RB and OL) have easily been the best coached and developed groups on the team.  Not good for the Hoosiers going forward.

You might be right.  The Dude hopes you're wrong though.  To give credit to Coach Wilson, his offensive success helped these coaches move on to the big boy table.  And it's proof that IU is doing something right.  Now it's time to just reload and get all three phases of the game working together.

Hart is a great pick up for IU. I had the chance to meet him while he was at Eastern Michigan and was recruiting one of our kids. I was impressed.

If he's half as good of a coach as he was a running back, the Hoosiers have no worries then.

Anybody watch the Spring game?

Thought Peyton Ramsey did a great job.
