  1. For those who have not heard, my family and I have decided that the time is right for a change. My wife has wanted to live in Florida for quite some time, but I have always had an excuse of why to not make the move. My son graduated in May, and with that a lot of those reasons disappeared. That being said, I am leaving Roncalli after 23 years. We are in the process of moving to Cape Coral, Florida and I will start teaching and coaching at Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda. My time in Indy was phenomenal - both the experiences and the people that I have had the honor to be associated with. I truly hope that I have left things at Roncalli in a better position than when I arrived and have had a positive impact on all in the football community! Keep making Indiana football better - always raise the bar, never lower it! Coach Stryker
  2. I just learned that there are a few spots still open for our Kicking World Indy Camp tomorrow. Follow the link to register!
  3. There will be a couple of kicking camps that will be returning to Roncalli this summer. We will be hosting the Kornblue Indy Camp on May 14 and the Kicking World Indy Camp on July 23. I have partnered with Brandon and Brent for quite some time now primarily because of their model - they keep numbers low so that the kids get plenty of instruction and also keep their costs more reasonable than a lot of the larger camps. If you know of someone in your program who might be interested in attending I hope that you will consider passing this along. If you have any questions feel free to email me at CStrykowski@Roncalli.org
  4. With the referee shortage I would think they would have to opt for another night.
  5. I have always preferred Kicking World and Kornblue. Much smaller numbers per camp (by design) and a much higher coach to player ratio which means they get more individual instruction. I know Kornblue has been doing camps the past couple years at Grand Park in Westfield in May and we host a Kicking World camp here at Roncalli on July 23.
  6. We had this happen last night and I'm fairly sure it was applied incorrectly. On a kickoff, the ball is popped up to the front line (did not hit the ground first) of the return team about 15 yards downfield. We call for a fair catch, but a kicking team player jumps in front of the returner and catches the ball. Referees awarded the ball to the kicking team. Is this not kick catch interference sine the ball did not touch the ground on the kick and we called fair catch?
  7. Smitty was a pledge brother of mine at Ball State. I've been stunned all day. Just the absolute best dude in the world and will be sorely missed! He was the type who made the trip to Indy for the State Finals every year regardless of who was playing... and made time to hook up with us Indy Sig Eps when he did. My heart and prayers go out to his wife and his boys (affectionately known as the Nutball Brothers) as well as his entire family!
  8. DT - finding out that you are a 'Hawks and Cubs fan makes me think that maybe we aren't so different after all...
  9. This is a difficult thing to endure in normal times. I am certain it's even tougher when kids don't have each other around to physically lean on. Deepest condolences to all those involved from the Roncalli family and this Cathedral alum.
  10. At the end the other coach is quoted as saying that he didn't have a problem with what happened. Sounds like a personal beef between the coach and admin to me.
  11. How many of those would most consider to be run particularly well?
  12. If you want to make this argument it really needs to start with Carmel...
  13. Our next camp is next month. Don't miss out on an opportunity - register today!
  14. That 30 day threshold for the Kornblue Camp in May is quickly approaching. Don't wait around and miss out on a $100 discount - register today!
  15. Forgot to add direct links for registration KORNBLUE KICKING CAMP KICKING WORLD CAMP
  16. My email address is CStrykowski@Roncalli.org should you want to contact me that way.
  17. Once again, we will be hosting two Kicking / Punting Camps here at Roncalli. The Kornblue and Kicking World Camps that we have hosted in the past will once again be back. I continue to work with Brandon and Brent because I truly believe in the way they approach the camp experience - primarily in keeping the numbers manageable (so that your player gets plenty of personal attention) and the cost reasonable (when compared to other Kicking Camps). Here are the details... KORNBLUE KICKING CAMP Sunday May 19 10 am - 4 pm Kicking and punting / snapping evaluation available upon request All ages and grades are eligible $350 ($100 off if registered 30 days in advance) KICKING WORLD CAMP Saturday July 20 11 am - 4 pm Kicking and punting with competition at the end Ages 13-18 are eligible $225 Contact me with any questions.
