  1. The SIAC Conference 2018

Ev North scrimmaged last Saturday at Salem with Hosts, Jennings Co and Charlestown. Unfortunely one of there defensive starters suffered a bad lower leg break.
  2. Hoosier Hills Conference 2018

Got to see Jennings Co at a 11 on 11 thud scrimmage at Salem yesterday. I saw them go against Evansville North and Charlestown. They had some success throwing against North, but got handled really good by Charlestown. They had problems containing speed all day. Offense was shotgun double wing. Timing and snaps were off. I would expect that to get better with more reps. Would appear at least early they will struggle again this season. Suppose to see Seymour at a scrimmage next Friday in Salem. Should be able to get a gauge on them.

Should be a fun year in the MSC. You have to have North Harrison as the favorite with their entire backfield returning, but lose a lot of those lineman. Brownstown losses alot of O-line and D-Line. JV squad was down also. However Reed May always figures a way to be good. Silver Creek loses D1 recruit Garrett and alot of those good D-Lineman. Will be interesting to watch if they can reload or have to rebuild. Salem loses Indiana All Star 6'4" speedy receiver Brishbauer. However they return maybe the best player in league in their QB. JV Team was best in Conference. Would not be surprised if this is the year Salem is "Back". Charlestown suffered their first losing season in 10 years. Lots of young kids got starts and playing time. JV only suffered 1 loss. Have to disagree on the previous post stating 7 defensive starters gone. By my count 8 defensive starters return with 8 offensive starters return. Look for a bounce back for the Pirates as they looked good in a closer then the score was loss to Batesville to end the Season. Rember the name Marian Lukes. Scottsburg had a great 1st full varisty season, but lose a ton of seniors. Senior to be Speedster Kaden Sparkman will be key to bridge this rebuild season. Eastern had a nice season. Had alot of tough close losses. Lose a few key players. Coach Dean is doing a nice job. Corydon was a young last season also. Coach Humphrey still has work to do but has them climbing back up the MSC standings. Clarksville has a new coach. Maybe toughest rebuilding job in the state with the Indiana longest losing streak at 35 games. Small numbers and loses of best players will make it a tough uphill struggle.
  5. Batesville throws it around a lot and runs a true hurry up spread offense. Not saying Batesville is on GS or Memorial level though.

Paoli 33 Eastern Pekin 16 ( Eastern is playing well but Paoli is too strong) Providence 38 Mitchell 8 (Kaden Williams is just too fast) Eastern Greene 41 West Washington 26 Silver Creek 34 Franklin Co. 14 North Harrison 35 Batesville 14 ( Talk about contrasting styles! Smash mouth Cougars vs Pace and space Bulldogs. Ctown was able to play keep away from Batesville last week with two 9min plus TD drives (50 rushes for 224yds). 4 turnovers and a Kick return for a TD did the Pirates in. N. Harrison is better than Ctown at playing keep away. They will be able to control the game. Huge size difference in lines.)
