  1. Good times on the GID indeed... Tonights games should be close. Will be a great game between L-Burg and Batesville. I expect a low-scoring affair. Both teams will try to out-bully the other IMO. Both have great size. Turnovers will be the key to victory in Batesville tonight. Creek vs FC.... The wildcats are the underdogs again. Let's see if they can pull off the upset tonight. They controlled the clock last week and played great defense. Saw they had a few dudes back from the IR as well. Hopefully we get to see two EIAC teams in Sectional 31 next Friday. Good luck to all teams this evening!
  2. Congrats to FC and their staff. Lost 38-6 three weeks ago to the South Dearborn.... Don't see many teams come back after a loss like that and win the tournament rematch! They controlled the game and just were more physical then SD all night long. Good Knight....
  3. Week 5 in the EIAC, the season is moving along and we have another great slate of games imo! Connersville vs Rushville Much like everyone else has stated this won't be a good football game. I do think Rushville is a better team than their 0-4 record suggest. If you stop #4 for Connersville the Lions have a good chance to win the football game. I think Rushville will pass the ball often as they have a decent passing attack and I don't see Connersville making enough plays on offense. Lions- 31 Spartans- 20 EC vs Batesville Hate to break the news to the bulldog faithful but this won't be a game... EC will do what they want. They can pass the ball 40 times or line it up and ran it down their throat all night. They won't have another game until week 9. They would get a better look from their scout team. Trojans- 48 Bulldogs- 7 FC vs Lawrenceburg This is my game of the week in the EIAC. Both are decent football teams who have some injuries at the moment from what I hear. FC is still playing without QB1. Lawrenceburg is not the tigers of old. They're a "okay" football team but not top 5 in the 3a polls. I think this game will be closer than what people think. I may be wrong but this could be a good game come tournament time. L-Burg likes to run their quick toss. Their big QB would rather run the ball than pass, same as the soph QB for FC. We'll see what STC thinks in the morning after his slumber. I'm going to go with the wildcats to spoil homecoming while Coach K and crew will be at Connies post game trying to get tips and tricks to beat the Bulldogs in week 6😉 Wildcats-27 Tigers- 24 SD vs Greensburg Greensburg is a bad football team...simple as that. SD and crew will run the scoreboard up this week since they won't get more than 100 total yards of offense next week against the Trojans. Not much more to note for this game. I'm going SD -34 to cover.
  4. FC "turf" field is actually made up of coconut fibers. No rubber turf pellets. Sand on the bottom layer with the brown coconut fibers on top. Only other field in the state like it is Carmel. They were still spreading the coconut today (game in less than 24hrs).... Its a very interesting feel and more like grass and not as spongy. Suppose to be much cooler as well. Field house is the next thing to happen for FC hopefully!
  5. Exciting times in the EIAC thread again!! STC is back from the dead! The season is moving along fast as we're already in week 3 with plenty of exciting games in Southeastern Indiana this Friday! Tomorrow night will give us a good idea of how teams will shape up this season. Cincy Moeller vs East Central EC's biggest test of the season this week as Ohio powerhouse comes to town. It would be nice for Indiana to pick up another win from the buckeye state but I don't see it happening this week even with Mr. Football. I hear #20 may be out for EC due to fight in Harrison game? Can someone clear that up for me... EC will have to throw the ball more this game and I'm not convinced they can get the job done in that regard if #20 is out of the game. Ringer will have a 8 man box all night long and force EC to throw the ball. I don't see QB1 stepping up... EC faithful won't like to hear..... Moe-28 EC-17 Batesville vs South Dearborn Not for sure how to read this game. I don't think Batesville is hyped up to be what people think. From watching them play first hand pre-season they didn't impress me. I don't know why they aren't spreading the offense out with their QB and letting him operate from there. Running the ball down peoples throat isn't the personnel they have. I think South Dearborn is the more physical team and plays scrappy at times while Batesville is typically the "soft" team IMO. Knights-28 Bulldogs-21 Greensburg vs Connersville Connersville had a collapse against FC last week as they lost a two touchdown lead. Connersville gave up in typical fashion. This game is the battle of which team doesn't suck more! Hondaburg and crew should have worried more about installing an offense and scoring points (14pts in two games) than promoting their social media accounts this summer. I'm going to take the under in this one! Connersville- 24 Greensburg- 7 Rushville vs Franklin County FC finds a way to stay competitive without their QB1. Soph steps into the starting roll and has done well from what I hear. FC will have their first game on their new turf field which will feature coconut fibers. Suppose to be much cooler and beneficial than traditional pellets from research I've done. Finally a nice upgrade from their 3 feet tall grass. Rushville is not a football school or good at anything beside girls b-ball. FC might put up a 50 burger on the new field. Dairy cottage will be sold out of chicken and jojos after the game!! FC- 41 Lions-20 Lawrenceburg vs Milan This could be the sleeper game of the week in Southeastern Indiana. This is a get right game for Lawrenceburg to get their season on track. If they struggle this week against the Indians and Coach Lang, STC might go back into his cave and we won't see him for another 3 years!! The tigers will bounce back but the rednecks of Milan will be out in full force cheering on the boys in yellow and black. Coach K will run up the score if he can in his typical fashion and stop at Connies on the way back to the dirty burg to get ready to win his next 8 games of the regular season! Tigers-38 Indians- 17
  6. Franklin County vs Connersville: The wildcats defense will have to play tough for them this week and the rest of the season due to QB1 being out. Connersville have speed in the backfield and will try to run the ball against FC. I don't see them having too much success on the ground. Connersville will have to air the ball out if they want to have a chance to win but that's not their DNA. This will probably be the lowest scoring game in the EIAC this week. FC- 20 Connersville- 13 Greenfield-Central vs Greensburg: I was surprised Greensburg took one on the chin last week against Shelbyville. I expected it to be a much closer game with how much the new coach is hyping up the program... Based off last weeks performance I don't see this being any different. GC is a solid program and beat the pirates 44-0 last year. Similar result this time around again. GC- 41 Pirates- 7 Harrison (OH) vs East Central: Much like everyone has already said... this won't be a game. EC will put up however many they like. I'd give EC a 34 point spread and they cover! EC-45 Harrison-10 Lawrenceburg vs Taylor (OH) Don't know much about L-burg still. I didn't think they were that great of a team last year. It helps when you're in a bad sectional and you end up playing a team with a losing record in semi-state (Monrovia 6-8). Lawrenceburg will find a way however to scrap by with a win. Stinky Stinky 1..2..3 where ya at.... L-Burg: 28 Taylor: 17 Madison vs South Dearborn The knights get rolled with one and look to get back in the win column week two. If not this week I don't see a potential win until week 4. Things will not be well in knight country who had high hopes this year after winning small school EIAC conference last year. Some type of conference alignment needs to happen with the 3a and 4a schools. With East Central and Connersville being the only 4A schools in the conference. That's besides the point. South Dearborn get the win against a very bad Madison team. Knights- 34 Madison-14 Milan vs Batesville: This is my game of the week involving an EIAC school. Milan is a better team than people give them credit for. Batesville has bigger size from when I've seen them compared to Milan. However, there is something about Milan that makes me want to pick them this week. I think they will have to relay on lots of play-action and more passing than they want if they will win against the bulldogs. Batesville will relay on their 6'4 plus wideout to make plays down the field.... Milan-28 Batesville- 24 Rushville vs Shelbyville: Rushville added this game to the schedule last year in hopes of picking up one of their two yearly wins. They managed to scrape by last year in a high scoring affair but that won't be the case this season. Shelbyville surprised a lot of people and will hand it to the lions this week and try to build their program back to what it was several years ago around when Coach Parks was under the helm. Shelbyville-31 Rushville-17
  7. Connersville at Richmond Connersville graduates some athletes but they do enough to get past Richmond. The Red Devils have some decent size but lack discipline and will start off the year 0-1. Spartans- 34 Red Devils- 14 East Central at Lawrenceburg The matchup of the week in the EIAC. East Central looks to defend their 4A state title run while Lawrenceburg will try to make a run to make it back to Lucas Oil Thanksgiving weekend. This game is never has close as people expect.... EC will run away with it in the 2nd half behind their Mr. Football candidate. Trojans- 34 Tigers- 10 Franklin County at New Castle The Wildcats of FC are a very young team in places with several sophomores playing varsity. Most of their upperclassman have experience in the skill positions. Look for FC to get the ball to their playmakers if they want to win the game. New Castle is an Air Raid offense so this could be a high scoring game. Wildcats- 31 Trojans- 17 Indian Creek at Batesville Batesville has some size to their roster and their QB can sling the ball but they didn't impress from what I saw from them over the summer at scrimmages. Maybe they're still working out the kinks but I think the Bulldogs lose a close one to Indian Creek. Braves- 38 Bulldogs- 34 Rushville at Milan Milan is improved from the team they were a year ago. They have some hard-nosed football players who always play a good game. Coach Langferman does things right. Don't know much about Rushville the year... Indians- 24 Lions- 14 Shelbyville at Greensburg First game on their new turf field for Greensburg with a new HC. They should be pick up the win against Shelbyville who only has 2 wins over the last 3 seasons I believe... Pirates- 48 Golden Bears- 7 South Dearborn at Jennings County The Knights have a good core group of guys and should be able to take home the victory on the road @ Jennings County week 1. Knights- 28 Panthers- 17
  8. L-Burg is not the same team of the past few seasons. Yes, they still have lots of dudes and good o-line play to potentially win a sectional. But I wouldn't count on them to go past that. Young team this season. They are in the "Big School Division" of the EIAC along with Franklin County, East Central, and Connersville. With South Dearborn, Greensburg, Batesville, and Rushville in the "Small School Division".
  9. If EC was to change conferences would the rest of their sports follow? I think that's the reason they haven't left yet. The other EIAC schools are competitive if not better than EC in other sports. I think the out of conference schedule is working well for them now. More times than not they make a deep playoff run in football.
  10. Kennedy changed the culture at Franklin County down in Southeastern Indiana and got the program on track despite what his 24-18 record shows. He probably would have won a sectional title or two if it wasn't for powerhouse East Central. Kennedy will be a great hire for KV if they take in his style and it doesn't turn out to be another Bloomington South experience. Good luck to Coach K!
  11. It's week 3 in southeastern Indiana and chatter has died down from the EIAC crowd. I'll get the ball rolling in hopes of STC and others joining in. Rushville @ FC: This game could get ugly in a hurry. FC put up 74 last week against Connersville. Rushville's QB didn't play last week and he might be out again. He's about all they have over there in Stewart Town. I'll take the cats in this one. (Wildcats 58-7) Batesville @ South Dearborn: This could be a very interesting game over in SD. Batesville likes to pass the ball around the yard and run let their QB be a playmaker. Somehow Coach Boom lost to the Madison Cubs last week in a upset imo. The knights need a bounce bad win here bad or their season might start falling apart already in week 3. I don't think they stop the dawgs offense. (Bulldogs 34-20) Scottsburg @ Connersville: Connersville was supposed to play Greensburg but they are shut down two weeks due to COVID. Connersville picks up the Warriors who are 2-0 on the year. After getting a first hand view of the Spartans last Friday night I don't see them winning a game all year. (Warriors 41-20) Lawrenceburg @ Milan: Lawrenceburg got the bounce back win last week. The score was a little closer than I was expecting but a win is a win I suppose. Milan just doesn't have the dudes to compete in this matchup. Lawrenceburg stays on track this week. (Tigers 48-14) Moeller @ EC: Out of state Cincinnati Moeller comes to St. Leon to face the Trojans. I hear the trojans have some injuries in key positions including their young RB? It didn't seem to bother them last week when they rolled Harrison which I was suspired in that score. I don't really know anything Moeller this year but EC picked up the dub last year so I'll take the EIAC favorite Friday night. (Trojans 28-10)
  12. Long time follower of EIAC…first time writing. STC is back! I was afraid we wouldn’t be blessed with your presence! Finally game day, let’s hope COVID doesn’t hurt any of our teams like much of last season! Batesville vs Indian Creek: I don’t know much about the Braves but hear the Bulldogs return a lot of guys this season. They may have the next best QB in the conference behind Yoon IMO. This game didn’t go their way last year but I think Coach U and the Dawgs win in a close one.(Dawgs 21-17) Greensburg vs Shelbyville: The golden bears are on a 25 game losing streak. I don’t see that changing tonight. Greensburg wins this one easy. (Pirates 31-7) Rushville vs Milan: Sounds like the Lions have higher expectations than in the past for this season. They return their QB but don’t know much about the talent surrounding him. Milan is always a tough physical team. Rushville won’t have the firepower to compete. (Indians 28-14) Connersville vs Richmond: This should be a interesting game! I heard Richmond was having issues with players not showing up to summer activities because of an incident with their HC (fight)? Connersville was a young team last year and brings back experience. Tough to predict these early matchups but I’ll give this one to the C-Ville. (Spartans 28-21) FC vs New Castle: I heard this game had a possibility of being cancelled due to COVID at New Castle. But the game is still on far as I know. The cats bring back a lot of dudes this year. They lost their QB and RB but are able to replace them. #23 for FC might be the best athlete in the conference. This game isn’t even close. (Wildcats 48-14) South Dearborn vs Seymour: Coach Boom and the knights will be ready to roll tonight! I hear they lost a All-state player to the boys down the road but no fear they will show up and let those Owls know what KFI is all about! (Knights 31-20) EC vs Lawrenceburg: The game of the year in the EIAC right out of the gate! This will be a great one for sure. Like STC said the tigers on paper look like they have a team to make it back to Lucas Oil this year. They have dudes all over the field. EC on the other hand lost a few guys including their two bookend LB’s. They will be hard to replace but EC always seems to find a way to produce. I expect a low scoring game… but Coach K and the boys get the monkey of their back! (Tigers 17-14)
