Looks like Laville controlled the game?

That's along ride for Laville and the game might have been just a little longer if the clock was running at some point in the 2nd Half.

Were you at the game last night mumm6866?

I wasn’t at the game but my dad helps coach. He been the Junior High Coach for 26 years there.

From what I gathered it was 37-0 at halftime so it would seem running clock whole 2nd half and also looked like backups played whole 4th for most part.

West Noble at Knox - The Chargers' best win was probably over Eastside back in early September.  Sagarin says both teams have played comparable schedules.  So I don't think WN being in the NECC will help them much.  I like Knox winning soundly at home this week.  The Redskins are on a mission.  Knox 42-21

LaVille at Whiting - I've never been there, but for some reason I'm thinking Whiting has a nice turf football field.  If that's true, it'll be a lot of fun for the Lancers!  They'll be able to dip into their entire playbook and rack up some offense against the Oilers.  LaVille 52-7

South Newton at North Judson - Nothing to see here.  The Bluejays will be methodical as they wear down the Rebels front seven.  Lots a yards on the ground and a couple of big play-action throws for Judson.  North Judson 49-7

Triton at Culver - Looks like it could be another sloppy night.  That won't help the Cavs out any.  But I am glad it's in Culver and not on the Trojan Tundra!  We want the field in great shape for the sectional championship next Friday against the Jays.  Triton should take care of business easily.  Triton 55-6

Caston at Carroll - Running clock to begin the second half.  Caston's season was made last week.  This week they'll find out how overmatched they are in the first 2 minutes.  I think Carroll has a chance to give Adams Central a run for their money in the Regional.  Carroll 63-0

Whiting does have turf I believe, at least when we played some 20 years ago lol.

South Newton at North Judson, 8 p.m.

    *All times Eastern

    Good Luck To Everyone!

as always, the game is better

Carroll is to much for Caston

Triton as Culver has no answer for them

Knox till somebody shows can slow down that Offense

    Laville should win big

North Judson again should win big

I think LCC overall is in better shape this year than Andrean for 2a Catholic schools are concerned, youth and roster turnover at Andrean vs loaded experienced team from last year successful team in LCC.   Just throwing some context out there from my seat.  Prior to the draw and even after the draw, felt like LCC was likely to get to Semi State vs Luers.  Just my neanderthal look at things

Andean lost Bowen (huge huge lose and Clacks kids whom transferred). They returned most the oline and their QB who was hurt for a few games last year… still returned a lot of people. Also Andrean played nobody lower than a 3a team Chatard ( who smoked them). But again every week is a new week and always depends what team shows up

Maybe people were confused because this isn’t a LaVille post

Why does it have to be a Laville Post for somebody to post about a potential Semi State Matchup which these teams would be in the Regional. Guess because I’m on other Forums can post about multiple things

5 downs? Did you not read Bob's explanation?

After the IW, Laville had the choice, by rule, to replay the down and they did. The clock was reset to where it was at the start of 2nd down. No extra down was given. The optics weren't good, but the crew did nothing to take the game away from Andrean.

Exactly… Andrean didn’t seem to understand the rules or what happened

I don't even know what that means

Nope I’m talking Semi State but it seems this site has mass confusion about people posting… I would at this moment take Laville over Rochester or LCC… I didn’t realize everything needed to be explained in depth on this site.. Laville just handled Andreans pass attack with ease

Did some investigating and watched the Hudl video. Here’s what happened in the last couple minutes of the Andrean - LaVille game:

LaVille recovered Andrean onside kick, and had 1st down with 1:35 remaining. On the 1st play, the QB takes a knee immediately. On 2nd down, the Referee blows an inadvertent whistle. This was caused by the LaVille QB telling the R he was going to take a knee, and then taking the snap and backpedaling several steps before he goes down. This is a bad mistake, no doubt, but under the circumstances, somewhat understandable. But it happens, and any official who tells you they’ve never had an IW is probably lying. LaVille elects to replay the down. So, it’s 2nd down, but Andrean thinks the down counts and it’s 3rd down. This, despite the fact that the officials verbally instructed the box man that it was 2nd down, not 3rd, and the downs marker, which is on the Andrean sideline, is changed to 2nd down. Andrean apparently does not appreciate this. LaVille does another kneel down, then takes a delay penalty. On 3rd down, the LaVille QB runs around a little and then goes down. He does the same thing on 4th down, and runs out the clock.

From my review of the sequence of events, it’s apparent that nothing that the officials did affected the outcome. The crew’s performance over the final 1:35 was not optimal, but the real trouble started when LaVille said they were taking a knee, and did not go down immediately from “Victory” formation(after doing just that on 1st down). This led to the IW, which, in turn caused Andrean to lose count of the downs, despite what the officials said, and what was displayed on the downs marker.

Mmm… seems like I explained this in my post that (had grammatical errors as you say)… even Laville AD said the refs messed up the last 1:35 but it doesn’t matter as Laville won and Andrean didn’t.. on to next week

Should be a great game!  Rochester will have had two weeks to get ready.  I think it will be a 14-13 type of game.  Is Rochester going to throw the ball this year?  They didn't throw the ball one time in the first half of last years game.  The winner of this game has a great shot to make it to semi state.

Yeah after watching Laville play against pass happy 320 plus offensive lineman I’m ago with Laville

All I know is that the radio guy was losing it at the end of the game when I turned it on. Lol

He was completed dumb founded by what was happening.

As was everyone on Laville side as they understood! It was baffling how bad last 1:35 of game was! But on to next week!

Whether a team is taking a knee is communicated all the time in game ending situations.

Then I’m sure it was as they took 4 of them. The problem started when the ref blew an early whistle when the QB wasn’t down yet. That started the events that took so long to figure out. They then replayed the down but Andrean coaches and fans didn’t seem to understand that

At this point of the season, and in this game situation, every member of the crew needs to be aware of any clock issues.

I'm wondering how the "kneel downs" were communicated? Was the crew told "we're taking a knee"? Was the QB allowed to take his time, after this was communicated to the D?

Uh? Why would the D need to be let know taking a knee? Does the offense tell them hey we are running power right before the run play… never seen or heard of that in my lifetime of playing and watching football

  13. 5 minutes ago, Bobref said:

Ironic, isn’t it, that you’re criticizing the officiating crew for poor communication? 😂🤣😅

Well since I’m not paid to post or be correct in a forum doesn’t matter does it 😂😂😂. Unlike the refs who are paid. The AD for Laville said worst crew has ever witnessed and he was the coach for the past 10 years so time to get a life lol 😂

“Well let’s start with the refs weren’t not good..”

    “it’s a reply of 2nd down”

    “Laville takes another kneel“

“Andrean then runs our field goal“

“Andrean goes ape shit because didn’t understand as refs didn’t horrible job of last 1:35 of game“

If the referees were no better than the gibberish you wrote, they must have been very bad, indeed, Mr. Member.

Sorry didn’t realize this was English class as I was just explaining the last 1:35 of game. My bad that some words are missing. Get a life if that worried about explanation as also typing from my phone which autocorrected a bunch to wrong words

    All:

After watching much confustion during the final plays of the Andrea-LaVille game Friday night, a few questions came to mind.

Checking if anyone can shed some light for me?

Not trying to be a wise guy here, trying to understand better.

Is there an appointed game official (the guys in the stripes calling the game) that watches the game clock/play clock?

Friday, there seemed to be multiple opinions on how much time was on the game clock and what down it actually was.

Since we have no instant replay in Indiana high school, who decides if/when time is put back on or taken off the game/play clock and to adjust the line of scrimmage.

Friday, the clock was changed from 10 seconds left in the game, to 40 seconds left, to 42 seconds left in the game.

There was confusion on both sides of the field - coaches, teams, and fans.

    Thanks, guys!

as always, the game is better

    from_the_sidelines007

Well let’s start with the refs weren’t not good..

Now back to the last 1:35 of the game.

Laville got the ball back with 1:35 left and Andrean had 1 timeout left… one would think game over right well refs made that 1:35 last 35 minutes with mistakes.

1st down Laville kneels and Andrean uses last time out.

2nd down 1:32 left on clock Laville goes to kneel but Plummer stays up as long as possible to use time and ref blows whistle early.. (all hell breaks loose after this). After much discussion it’s a reply of 2nd down but Andrean coach and fans must have not got the memo as they think it’s 3rd down.

3rd down(Andrean thinks it’s 4th down) Laville takes another kneel but again Plummer this time runs around to waste enough time that to put the clock at 40 seconds (enough as play clocks so game will be over when whistle blows to start game clock). Andrean then runs our field goal unit thinking it’s a turnover on downs when it’s not and thus began the 25 minute discussion because Andrean coach doesn’t understand and refs didn’t explain very well..

4th down now and Laville runs out clock and Andrean goes ape shit because didn’t understand as refs didn’t horrible job of last 1:35 of game

It's time for the semifinal round of the IHSAA state football tournament.

Defending 2A Champ Andrean at 2A No.2 LaVille is already a conversation piece and will be followed closely on Friday.

The projection tool has LaVille favored by 5 points.

John Harrell's site has LaVille favored by 10 points.

Our games this week involving HNAC teams include:

    West Noble at Knox

    Andrean at LaVille

    South Central (UM) at Culver

    Triton at North Judson

    What say you?

West Noble vs Knox - Knox

Andrean vs Laville - Laville - to put a little more into this game. I think Laville will be more physical for game for the win and do it by 3-5 points.

South Central vs Culver - Culver

    Triton vs NJP - NJP

Should probably know the teams you’re talking about before posting.

I know exactly what teams posting about. If I got one messed up when typing it happens. No need to “lmao” comment about it. That’s childish. Lowell and Norwell my mistake. Wasn’t like purposely did. My comment was about game so I got team wrong owell
