I agree to that. Grant is probably the 3rd best receiver ever...that i've saw.. behind Timmy Mills from LCC and Sam Logan from South Newton.
  2. 1A Season Progress

I don't think Tri Central was better. I talked to quite a few of the players and none of them even think that. . You won't change my thinking on that. Winamac played their worst game of the season and Tri Central did enough to scrape out the W by six points. I guess maybe I should be proud to say... Well.. Winamac played that poorly and still lost by 6 points.
  3. Alum's Dream of Year 1 Success factor

i could have seen it as that. asked him what he meant by that and he explained that johnson just needs to change it up more in playoff time.
  4. 1A Season Progress

shooting themselves in the foot. meaning. They were a better team... and played poorly... and still was only outgained by 8 yards.... in total offense... and had 1 less first down.. and had 8 more penalties and 80 more yards... and lost by 6 points... that's what shooting yourself in the foot is.
  5. 1A Season Progress

Here are the stats from the "good company article" from the pharos tribune. Katschke 26 carries for 119 yards. Fox 8-12 passing for 172 yards. 1 touchdown. 1 interception Lynch 4 catches for 104 yards. 1 touchdown. Schultz 3 catches for 62 yards. Schultz had 1 run for either 8 or 10 yards. Kasten had 1 run for either 8 or 10 (can't remember) 12 penalties for 120 yards. http://www.pharostribune.com/localsports/x517507534/Good-company Winamac was outgained on the ground 161-127 (fox was more than likely in the negatives) Tri Central went 7-17 in passing for 1 touchdown and 1 pick. They threw for 154 yards... what it says in 1 article.. the 2nd article I read said Tri Central outgained Winamac 307 to 299 yards. Winamac had 13 first touchdowns. Tri Central had 14. (how many of those first downs came by the way of penalties? hmmm) You know whats fascinating... a team that runs 95 percent of the time.. throws 35 times against Tipton... IN THE RAIN!! what's up with that man??? on another note. He isn't going to agree with me on what i'm saying because it will make his defense "not look impressive"... i saw what i saw.. bo hundt saw what he saw.. chris mcgown (knox's coach who was on the radio) saw what he saw... pioneer's coach saw what he saw... (his nephew told me about his uncle thought about the game)... a few winamac fans saw what I saw. How come We all see the same thing? He won't agree with me because he doesn't want his defense to sound "not good". They were stacking guys in the box all night and right until winamac started passing. i was gonna stop talking about this game... but majority of you silly people make me continue this fight.
  6. 1A Season Progress

Really.. from what a lot of the people I had talked to.. and I even heard a Pioneer coach mention to a relative that.. "Winamac shot themselves in the foot... Tri Central wasn't even better then Pioneer"
  7. Tri-Central @ Winamac Semi-State

you knew what I meant. maybe i should have been more clear. I am done talking about games. I however will talk about players.. and offensive line play, defensive line play and so forth.
  8. Winamac @ Pioneer

you have good players. Justin Mersch, Sam Kiser, Jacob Lytle and Tyler Shaw to name a few. They'll be pretty good next year and have a shot at going to state. I think when Sam is a senior (depending on if LCC or Scecina isn't in 1A).. They should be the favorites.
  9. Tri-Central @ Winamac Semi-State

it wasn't wide right. it was dead on. He's a very good kicker... kinda inconsistent with the field goals but this was only his 2nd year kicking. He's a track star so I doubt he'll kick in college... when i had talked to him he wasn't sure what he was going to do at the next level. I think there are only going to be two warriors playing college football... and thats a maybe. Katschke has offers but i haven't heard what his plan is yet and schultz I think is looking too... Lynch and Kasten would be able to but Lynch is going to IUPUI i believe and Kasten last i heard planned on either going to a trade school or just working after high school. funny you mention that. I think the biggest strength all season long was the offensive line/defensive line and linebacker play.
  10. Year One - A rousing success

Winamac does graduate a lot. They lose 1 offensive lineman who was in his first year starting as an OL... he also started in spots as a sophomore and junior at DL.. and this was his full season at DT. They lose 2 year WB Levi Schultz and 3 year WB Keegan Kasten. They lose 2 year HB Tyler Katschke, 2 year WR Sean Lynch (Schultz played WR for his freshman and sophomore years and started 4 years on defense.... Kasten started at WR as a freshman.. and started 4 years on defense.... Katschke started 2 years on defense... and Lynch started 3 years on defense) They do however have some kids back. QB-Parker Fox.. will be a 3 year starter on defense... and his 2nd year at QB. He started as a sophomore at WR. (senior to be) HB-Andrew Risner he played a little as a freshman, sophomore and junior on offense.. and started some games as a freshman and sophomore at DT... did play a little DT this year. and fullback... (senior to be) WB-Chris Williamson... started early on (when kasten was just playing defense).(senior to be) T-Wyatt Spence... started defense a couple games as a freshman... played some as a sophomore (ended both seasons with injuries).. and finished a full season this year at T. (senior to be) G-Brant Howard... played some as a freshman at DT... started as a Guard as a sophomore. (junior to be) C-Devin Kistler.... played some as a freshman... started as a sophomore.. moved to center this year. (senior to be) G-Dalton Button... started from game 6 on as a freshman.. started all last season and this season.. at guard.. spot started at DT as a freshman and sophomore... and started regularly as a junior. He and Tyler Reed are the top 2 1A lineman... not going in any order) MLB-Mitch Reed... led the team in tackles... was 3rd in TFL... and will be in his 2nd year at MLB.. and 3rd year overall starting (played some as a sophomore at DE.. then started from sectionals on) CB-Jeff Nies... beat out a starter this past summer to gain the starting position.. played some special teams as a sophomore. Their backfield next year won't be as big (bulk wise) or as physical but they'll probably be quicker... Pioneer went 7-2... and there were atleast 7 back ups at winamac that could have started on that squad. Their junior varsity has went 21-1 the past 3 seasons... and none of the big four play makers were on those squads. There is talent coming back at Winamac. Their sophomore to be has some very strong athletes.. (Kolten Scott, Matt Shorter, Gavin Breyfogle, Luke Pugh... and a pretty good QB in waiting in Jack DeGroot).. the junior to be class has a couple skilled kids (McGee, Bucinski and Kole Baker)... but have a lot of lineman (most of the kids in that class are lineman)... and the seniors to be have a good mixture of lineman and skilled positions. I would adventure out to say they could be anywhere from 7-2 to 9-0... next season again.. there are some good leaders vocally coming back next year (parker fox, jeff nies, mitch reed).. and leaders that lead by example (wyatt spence, devin kistler, dalton button).. so the senior class will have good leaders and are a close unit.. should be another great season. Theres a reason why Coach Roth might return for his 34th season... winamac has a legit reasoning to be considered a sectional winner to say the least the next 3 seasons.
  11. Year One - A rousing success

i see. So Central Catholic and Scecina would have to make it to the can for them both to stay in 2A?
  12. 1A Season Progress

i am closing the matter of Winamac Football for the 2013 season. As long as I'm alive... and I can remember.. Winamac was the best team in 2013 for 1A football. Sometimes.. even the best teams don't win championships. It was a good season. I hope the young warriors that return remember that semi-state game and use it as fuel for the whole entire up-coming year. This loss can do one of two things... either break the program... or make it even stronger and closer. I hope the 2nd happens. There is tons of talent still left and I am excited to see what the 2014 team can do.
  13. 1A Season Progress

best defense in the state??? hmm winamac.. knox.. varsity defense gives up 0 touchdowns Pioneer.. varsity gives up 1 touchdown North White.. shut out South Newton.. 1 touchdown Tri County... shutout (2nd team gave up touchdown) West Central.. shut out North Judson (jv gives up 2 touchdowns) Caston (jv gives up touchdown) Frontier (special teams give up 1 touchdown, jv gives up other) Sectionals Lake Station (varsity gives up 1 touchdown) Whiting (varsity gives up 3 touchdowns) West Central (varsity gives up 1 touchdown) Regionals Pioneer (varsity gives up 2 touchdowns) Semi-State Tri Central (varsity gives up 3 touchdowns) so winamac's varsity gives up 13 touchdowns in 14 games.... tri central gives up 14 touchdowns in the regular season (4 against sheridan, 7 against eastern hancock and 3 against carroll).. they may have given up more... but the those games i know more than likely.. their varsity had to play a full game... due to all three being so close. you claiming that Indianapolis Howe was going to be state champions in 1A.. and they didn't even get out of the first round... and also kinda like you a few years ago claiming that Indianapolis Howe was amazing at basketball and would win the 3A state title that year.. and what happened an early exit... atleast when I say my team has a legit chance to win a state title.. they atleast come close.
  14. 1A Season Progress

First off. The passing didn't work? They attempted I would want to say.. 3 or 4 passes in the first half... one was by the back up QB... that was just thrown over the Quarterbacks head. Parker completed a pass for 17 yards.... in the 2nd half he passed for 155 yards. so obviously they threw more in the 2nd half. They obviously had more success running the ball too... 73 yards in the 2nd half. (55 in the first half). I believe if they had tried to pass the ball more. It would have opened up the offense much more The two fumbles that TC had did help... but if you mention that.. then you can take into consideration the silly penalties that helped continue drives that you scored on (two of them) and also.. the safety wasn't in the right spot (that first pass that the TE/WR made). So there.. 1 bad play.... and your two "scoring drives" were helped by silly penalties. So there for... you were helped out by mistakes that winamac made.. just like Winamac was helped out by turnovers that Tri Central did.... and one of the turnovers Tyler Katschke made himself.. He plowed over the lead blocker and knocked that ball loose. I've seen him do it a couple times... I still can't believe the ref actually debated who recovered the ball. So basically the points you were trying to make just back fired on you. lol. Winamac was outgained by 9 yards.. and had 12-13 penalties and tri central still won by 6 points... what's that tell you? Winamac plays the worst game of the season and almost won the ball game... so therefore winamac was on their A game. That game wouldn't have been close. (like the pioneer game) I think if Linton was healthy (completely) they would have been the 2nd best team in the state (behind Winamac)... then Pioneer 3rd.. Tri Central 4th. Eastern Hancock 5. Pioneer was a lot better then Tri Central. Winamac just played exceptionally well against Pioneer and won by 2 touchdowns.....Winamac played their worst game of the season for 3 quarters... AND STILL lost by 6 points... so whats that tell you? So your calling BO Hundt a liar and he knows nothing about football? I think he was one of the top players in the state of Indiana during his high school years and knows a little bit of something about football. 9-10 guys were stacked. If Seth Blunck was a safety.. then why did they announce him at linebacker? (on maxpreps hes listed as an OLB).. I think what I noticed and what a couple people I talked to notice... trumps you. You won't ever admit if I was right. So I don't know why I'm talking to you.... and yes... they did yell "its on 1".. I heard it.. the two kids standing next to me heard it... and 3 people in the stands i talked to heard it. So again with the lies. oh coach nowlin. i'm glad that i'm back on... did you have to go over and give coach murray a shoulder to cry on.
