  1. Lawrence Central Filled

Couldn't have found a better way to say it
  2. I'll certainly agree with the fact that grades are ALMOST everything. So much talent out there, coaches are looking for character as much as talent. Even an average level of intelligence (took me 3 times to spell that right ) can get the grades in high school to impress recruiters. Just takes work!!
  3. The best thing about the cold weather, that I was reminded of on the way in this morning, is that roadkill doesn't smell as bad. Especially skunks...
  4. Hopefully the cold rain doesn't sign up THIS year.
  5. Yes, I agree, but I think Rocky IV was the best of the series. Dolph is the man!
  6. Any game I was a part of when Avon played Zionsville from 2001-04. Good GREAT mini-rivalry for that span.
  7. Spot on... Was thinking this the entire time I watched the video. I was waiting for coaches to chest bump their players after the fight!
  8. So you're fine with the way it is now beyond the LOS? If so, I'm with you on both aspects.
  9. 2017 Schedule

I miss Mugg-n-pye. Seems like people were either all dawghouse or all Mugg-n-pye. I was certainly a Mugg-n-pye guy and was sad to see it go. Still very good eats at Dawghouse! Dawg House's breadsticks though!!!
  10. Wow... Looks like a lot of work ahead. In case anyone else was wondering from the blueprint (surely I'm not the only one...) this is a speed table:I feel ridiculous now for having to look it up
  11. Flying chest bumps do not remove the respect between players and coaches. Are high five's ok? Are handshakes ok? Are pats on the head ok? People have different opinions on what is acceptable. These are a norm in society now. Are you just assuming that since they are doing this, they must be disrespecting coaches outside the lines? Are you assuming the coaches are just pandering to the players? I've watched you talk about Bro Culture for a while now, and like Veechy, I don't understand. If you were talking about coaches' relationships with players getting too friendly or "broing out" after practice, I would understand. But you keep referring to just the chest bump thing. Many find it refreshing to see coaches getting enthusiastic. I simply don't see the issue with it.
  12. NFHS Rules Questionnaire

In the first group, yes to #3 & #4 Second group, yes to #1, #4 only at state games, & maybe #7 only on plays starting within the redzone.
  13. LC job opening

Exactly what I was thinking, except for maybe to the next level...
  14. Financially, no question... not sure about your reasoning however...
  15. I think it's a good fix, but now we will just hear how #3 has to play #1 in really competitive sectionals. There will always be a squeaky wheel. Which ones will get the grease?
  16. Penn v Ben Davis 6A Title Game

Congrats to BD for being the first 2-time State Champs in 6A football!!!
  17. Agree with them or not, the IHSAA is the governing body of varsity football, and every other varsity sport in Indiana. They do so much more than just decide if teams should be seeded. The opportunity they present these kids is incredible. Without the IHSAA, there is no tournament at all. Sectional champs, Regional Champs, Semi-State Champs. There is no Lucas Oil. There is no rule placement to protect the players from injury. There is no officiating crews to cover every team. There is no structure... etc... If you are bashing on the IHSAA, I DARE you to have a conversation with Bobby Cox. The dude is in it for all the right reasons. Agree or disagree with how he goes about doing things, but don't be saying he doesn't care. We are lucky to have someone that genuinely cares about the kids. If you don't know what you are talking about, that's fine, but don't drag people through the mud that don't deserve it. I don't agree with everything the IHSAA does and says, but I sure respect the crap out of their mission to give ALL student-athletes a chance to compete and succeed. Again... If you haven't talked to him or even heard him speak in person, stop bashing the man for "not caring." He has good intentions for all players, coaches, and refs. Rant over. Good luck to all the teams at state! Even the ones that had bad draws in sectionals!
  18. This may be a big or small part of the stance against seeding... People are already arguing seeds when we don't even have them!!! Yes, it is his opinion that keeping this format is best for everyone involved. Unfortunately, many disagree, but if you've ever met the guy, he means nothing but great things for the players, coaches, and refs. Sometimes what is right is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right.
  19. Game of the weekend?!?

3A and 4A could be the closest games. Really excited to watch them all though. Very interesting match-ups!!!
  20. Penn v Ben Davis 6A Title Game

Watch the video on page 1 of this thread. Plenty of passing.
