  1. I posted this in the off season topic. Onside kick is only permitted in the 4th quarter. I believe it would revert back to the traditional formations.
  2. Ware is entering the draft. I think this is a horrible idea for him. While he played well the last half of the season, I don't think he is close to being ready. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2024/03/26/indiana-basketball-kelel-ware-declares-for-2024-nba-draft-iu-hoosiers/72930443007/?fbclid=IwAR37V5RaYP2qeri9uBrZ5oOaYR5_dQE7LLUKKpyjP4p2iajgWtP-UVje47M
  3. Great story....I first learned of these ultra races from reading the book "Can't Hurt Me" by David Goggins. The audiobook is great too. His goal was to run the Badwater race that goes through the desert in Nevada. Pretty incredible. Nowhere near as intense of a terrain, a friend of mine ran one here in Northern Indiana, called the Indiana Trail 100 in the Chain O'Lakes State Park.
  4. Reneau is staying; Gunn, Banks, and Sparks are entering the portal. No recruits lined up for the coming year.....interesting spot to be in. They could be uncomfortably shorthanded if Ware decides to turn pro. https://fox59.com/sports/college-hoops/ius-reneau-to-stay-3-players-hit-transfer-portal/?fbclid=IwAR1veyVco0tznRMgyySi5hW5C66yxMRDU2rbQtTr8ACd8ScdJmhEG4LEhaE
  5. One of the biggest "Oh HELLLLLL no's" I have ever seen.
  6. A proposal for changes to kickoffs has been published.
  7. Someone in Chicago is sold on Caleb Williams
  8. And how quickly it changes......by 2026, the playoff will expand to 14 teams. The B1G wants a guaranteed slot in the playoff. Notre Dame and conferences agree to protections regardless of future formats. https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39738322/conferences-notre-dame-agree-new-playoff-deal
  9. I do not get why so many are so high on Xavier. When he is on, he is unstoppable, with shooting and passing. My issue is that he so rarely shows that level of play. I see much more of him dribbling into traffic, putting up crazy shots, throwing passes that are way off. He just seems to be responsible for far too many turnovers. That said, that ranking list was from June. There were very high expectations for him back then. I did not see it then either. I rarely agree with Dakich on things, but blogger boys is hilarious; and sooo true.
  10. 46 years at Scecina as an assistant and head coach...quite an impressive run. He was an assistant coach there for all 5 of my brothers. The last of my brothers graduated in 1982; probably the most infamous class in Scecina history. 😄 Coach Hurrle is a class act, and so many have been blessed to be on his teams and in his classrooms. Best of luck Coach Hurrle in your retirement. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2024/03/14/indiana-high-school-football-coaching-legend-ott-hurrle-retires-scecina-memorial-ihsaa/72972519007/
  11. Property tax revenue cannot be used for salaries. A referendum could allow money to be moved from one fund to another, but without that, his pay is based on dollars from the general fund. property tax dollars go into a different "silo", as the State calls it.
  12. Have to find a new backup
  13. well damn, so much for Jacobs and Jones in the same backfield.
  14. I love this day....the first official day of the new season. Has there ever been a free agency period with so many quality RB's in it? Josh Jacobs from Vegas signs with Green Bay Saquon Barkley going from the Giants to the Eagles Tony Pollard from Dallas to Tennessee...Not sure it's an upgrade for TN, but they could not hang on to Henry Derrick Henry from TN to Baltimore. Big upgrade for Baltimore.
  15. While sad to see him go, it had to happen. 13 starts in 3 seasons. When he was healthy, he was dominant. I LOVE this moment. From the last game he played for Green Bay, and his final salute to the Bears....Classic Bakhtiari! I am guessing he will be A A Ron's teammate soon
  16. Packers upgrade the offense/run game. Would love to see some 2 back sets with Jones and this dude. I love this signing.
  17. 4 in a row to close out the season. Eating crow a bit now as I predicted 3 wins when there were 9 games left. I am going to guess an agent or two, or someone close to agents told Ware and Mgbako they needed to see more if they want to be high draft picks. Johnson is still more of a liability than an asset. They only won 4 in a row a couple times in the pre conference part of the season. Clark Kellogg brought up the word bubble in the post game. I do not see it. They need to win the B1G tourney in my opinion.
  18. He got 23 He is 3 inches taller and his arms are 4 inches longer It always impresses me to see what the skill guys do for strength numbers
  19. Great point about in season. Not sure how many people are on the athletic department staff at EN. A number of schools have also added assistant principal responsibilities to the AD job description. Another similar issue to the one you mentioned could come in any number of decisions that need to be made for other sports, any time a decision is made about football that could give the perception of favoritism is one more headache for a Coach/AD to have to deal with. On varsity football game nights, other admins will have to pick up some of the responsibilities of stadium management because the AD has coaching duties.
  20. I thought he had beaten his cancer. This is sad news.
  21. But he and MLF are buddies lol
  22. IU's Women's team won at Northwestern. It was fun to watch. NU packed the lane on defense to start to keep IU from scoring in the paint, so they started the game dropping 3's. NU extends the defense to shut that down, but IU scores in the paint. It was that way the whole first half.
  23. I guess that eliminates Wendy's from the list on Fridays during Lent. Cannot imagine what those fish sandwiches will cost
