  1. NIC Coaches. Where are we?

No. No. No. Yes. No. No. Just because you apply does not mean you are in the running. The Elkhart coach is not going to be an issue until 2020 I believe.
  2. I assume you are talking about head coaches but it happens all the time for assistant coaches who do not move out of the area and want to coach.
  3. They are consolidating but the plan as I understand it is to use the field at Central as the home football field. Might want to revisit those plans.
  4. My tax dollars hard at work! Hey good for them. I would love to see the mock up of what they are going to look like. That way I can drool on my keyboard.
  5. I am sure it will be posted. I am also sure there will be internal candidates applying. It takes time to get these things posted. They have to be approved and uploaded etc. This is a pretty fresh situation. As of this posting it has not been posted yet.
  6. According to the School Board minutes he will be the Dean of Attendance.
  7. Washington has replaced Clay (Clay moving to week 4 to replace NP) for week three with Kankakee Valley.
  8. Saturday I could see for sure. I personally hate Saturday games. Throws off the whole week before and after. Not worth it to play on turf. With that being said I don't see Washington giving up any Friday home games this season. Even years they have precedent over Adams. Plus they are looking at about 6 home games this season.
  9. The straight timing of double headers would be very difficult. You are talking 3+ hours for a game including warmups. You would have to start one game at 5 and then the next at 9 or so. You have to allow proper time for warm ups and clearing the stadium. Not to mention the concession stand changeover and other such pieces that go into putting a game on. I just do not see it as feasible. Plus it takes away true home field from Clay and Riley. I do not think they would enjoy that to be honest. Hopefully this opens the door to renovations at all the SB fields.
  10. Definitely throws a wrench into scheduling since Washington and Marian will have to find new opponents for week 3 and week 1 respectively but overall I think it is a good move for the conference and those schools. NP wasn't gaining anything from playing the southern schools. They may not go unbeaten in the regular season but they will be better for it in the playoffs. Clay needed a lifeline and this is all the conference could do for them at this point. Contraction is a real possibility for Clay, especially with yet another coaching search in full swing and Clay not having any feeder schools due to Focus 2018. I think the writing is on the wall but time will tell.
  11. Just to be clear the "varsity roster" was the roster for the entire program, freshman through seniors. They did not have a freshman program and the JV and varsity are one in the same. They have 30-35 in the program as a whole.
  12. Clay is nowhere near 1500 students and frankly they are nowhere near 50 on the football team. Focus 2018 is also taking away both feeder schools from Clay by closing Brown and making Clay IC into an IB school which will directly feed Adams. The writing is on the wall people.
  13. Markese Stepp

This is accurate and from what I have heard ND is helping him with his recruiting to another institution. Unfortunate for both sides that this did not work out.
  14. Week # 6 in the N.I.C.

The NIC is stuck on a four year cycle no matter what. I believe this is year 3 currently. Once that is up there will be new enrollment numbers. I can tell you for certain that NP and Clay will swap positions by then as Clay's enrollment has dropped severely and I am guessing NP is only going up and if you keep the North at 6 and the south at 7 then those two would just flip flop. Then based on enrollment alone Riley and St. Joe would flip flop as well. It is my understanding that St. Joe voluntarily stayed in the north even though their rightful place was in the south based on enrollment. IF all parties stay in the NIC then it would be interesting to see if there will be any realignment moving forward. I think there are some strong cases for this discussion.
