  1. NLC 2016

Not trying to crown anyone at this point. It may be a new coach, however, it is not the same situation that NW, NR, and Goshen have with completely new head coaches, that came from elsewhere to take those jobs. Where as the Concord staff remains much the same, therefore, one could hypothesize that the success and culture wont be changing. Also, I will say that it was stretch to say any sectional. I do agree, that they don't play a difficult schedule or a difficult sectional (even the new sectional). The only team in their current sectional that is consistently solid is Snyder. I do think that is something that Coach Koehler should try to change, and start playing better competition for their non-conference games. Snyder for example, or Dunesland teams, Indy teams, or even Penn. Other than Mishawaka and Snyder, who else in 5A Northern Indiana is going to give Concord a "run for their money" year after year?

While this is true, they have only played in that sectional for one year I do believe. Concord would probably win any sectional they would be put in, except for one with Snyder. What does a weak sectional have to do with having a successful program?
  3. NLC 2016

Although Concord may have a 2nd year head coach, he was promoted from within. Therefore I think that you still have to consider Concord as having one of the best coaching staffs in the NLC. The only change to my knowledge was Coach Dawson leaving, all the other coaches that Dawson had on staff, still remain there. Another fact that I think really contributes to the success that the Minutemen have had over the last decade, is that Concord had one of the first, if not the first, youth football programs in the area. Which the HS coaching staff and players are heavily involved in. Yes, Concord always has a massive amount of talent, but talent only takes you so far. Plymouth is really the only other program in the NLC that has a coaching staff that could be considered "the best". As for NW, Goshen, NR, and now Memorial; they all seem to have great head coaches now and appear to be heading in the right direction. I do believe, if I am not mistaken, their Sectional now is: FW Snyder FW North Goshen Concord I don't see this as being a joke of a sectional due to the fact that you probably have 2 of the best 5A teams in Northern Indiana in the same sectional. If these teams were not in the same sectional I could see this as being a Regional or Semi-State match up (Snyder vs. Concord). Good luck to eveyone tonight, I think NW vs CHS tonight will be a fantastic game, however, I think the Minutemen win a close one and keeping the streak rolling.
