The days of walking into games and the other team rolls over for you are long gone. Penn in my mind needs to get that chip on their shoulder.

Rosey is in Cali last I heard. quit coaching so he could support his son's volleyball career.

Scott Dreisbach, has head coaching experience or OC experience down in Texas if I am not mistaken.

Rosey's son is an incredible Volleyball player. Miss that dude.

The ball is in the hands of the administration , lets hope they don't fumble it .

I have little faith in the Penn AD Jeff Hart to make a good decision here. There are zero good options internally to fill the head coaching role, but one current assistant is politicking big time and it would be a travesty if he got it.

Elkhart High has an enrollment of over 3100 students and their combined football/basketball record is 4-23.

I thought combining Central and Memorial would bring about a more competitive athletic program.

Its the Elkhart attitude. All of the kids think they're the next big superstar and can make it on talent alone. Then when coaches get on them and discipline them, they quit. Lots on infighting within the Elkhart school system as well. Not to mention the school board is a joke. It's really sad.

Because Corey cares so much about conference titles, he wont do this, but you want to give your underclassmen good experiences...Have your JV play most of your NIC games....Send the Freshmen to play the rest....who cares about winning the game at this point. We want these young men to get better....well have them play the NIC varsity teams their Freshmen and Sophomore years....Keep the JV playing the JV's of Valpo and Mishawaka but, send them to play Marian and St. Joe...those are good games. Send the JV to play Riley and the Freshmen to play Washington and Adams. I am torn on sending the JV to play Elkhart as well as NP, but if the Elkhart program continues to slide, then screw it.

pipe dreams. At that point I see the NIC kicking Penn out.

They'll never kick Penn out due to the ticket sales they bring. I wish we would get kicked out.

When it comes to high school football, Chatard does things the right way.  They don't just win because they are a Catholic school.  SB St. Joseph, Mishawaka Marian, Hammond Noll, and Indy Ritter used to be good, but they don't win much anymore.  Did those school let in some bad seeds?  Public schools can win state 5 years in a row and nobody will say anything.  When LCC won state 4 years in a row, some people on here were going crazy.  This year they are after Chatard again.

I can provide a little insight to the St Joe and Mish Marian question. In short, yes, they have let some bad seeds in due to vouchers and more has been swept under the rug at these 2 schools and tolerated than before vouchers came into play. There is now a fear of losing voucher money in these schools, so the discipline and standards they used to have have now been reduced. I know several legacy catholic school families that have pulled their kids from St Joe and Marian and are now sending them to Penn, New Prairie, and Edwardsburg, Michigan.

Both Goshen High School and Elkhart High School have Football Head Coaching Positions Open.

Elkhart is a train wreck. Poor facilities. 2 AD's that are pretty much brain dead. A school board that's pure chaos. A temporary superintendent because they can't find anyone that wants the job. They have 2 regimes within the school system constantly trying to undermine each other when their person isn't the coach.

Yes....but going back much more than just a decade.  Completley different community than it was around 2000.  The changes are well beyond the high school.  Questions such as "What has happened to Goshen Football/Athletics/High?" would be better phrased as "What has happened to the City of Goshen?"

I heard they have a heck of a soccer program now...

Just years and years of kids not seeing and therefore not expecting any success?  The last winning season was in 2016 and before that you have to go back to 01 and 02 to find back to back winning campaigns.

What does Goshen need to do to hit the "reset button" in football?  If coach Wogomon couldn't see a way forward.....that speaks volumes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Goshen demographic has changed drastically over the past decade or so.

If Snider played Homestead again, they'd win by 21-28 points. Anything can happen on any given night. Damn, look at the Carroll/Warsaw game. This week Snider's playing a team that utterly dominated them for two quarters last year and some say this Caveman team is better. Snider better put their best foot forward is all I'm saying. I don't think this is going to be the 21 point game some are saying it will be. I'll be the first to eat crow if it is.

This Mishawaka team is not better than last years.

This game has the makings of a good one.  New Prairie's offense scares me a bit against NW's defense.  They run that misdirection...however....different than most schools NorthWood plays (IE Warsaw / Mishawaka)...NP is no stranger to throwing the ball.  NW's defense will have to prepare for both attacks.  Judging by the couple of common opponents, NW has played them a bit better, however, this time of year you can throw that out of the window.  The weather looks great for regional football so I'm sure Andrews field will be a packed house.  Turnovers and field position will play a huge part in this game.

New Prairie has a very good offensive line. They have decent size, move well, and are pretty strong. Should be a really good game.
