  1. Rushville Hired: Dan Rector

Congratulations to Coach Rector. I played football with Dan in high school and followed his career at Franklin. Rushville is not only getting a great coach, but a true leader of young men. Rushville is in good hands.
  2. Here is the official parking and tailgating info from the high school:
  3. Looks like the game will be streamed live on-line @ www.mtcsports.net.
  4. Here is a map of Danville High School and the set-up that was used last week vs. Chatard. I can't guarantee there will not be changes, but there was an available area for tailgating.
  5. Bishop Chatard at Danville

The Lawrenceburg and Evansville Memorial game can be found at http://seilocalsports.com/sport/football/. Congratulations to Coach Woods and his staff. Danville played a great game and had the answer for everything Chatard threw at them.
  6. Bishop Chatard at Danville

Here is the game capsule for Friday night on John Harrell's Football: Indianapolis Chatard (7-5) at Danville (12-0) GAME TIME: 7 pm ET, Danville. COACHES: Rob Doyle, 7-5 in 1st year at Indianapolis Chatard. K.C. Woods, 22-3 in 2nd year at Danville. SAGARIN RATINGS: Indianapolis Chatard, 81.21, 25th overall, 3rd in Class 3A. Danville, 77.83, 32nd overall, 5th in Class 3A. LAST OUTING: Indianapolis Chatard defeated Indianapolis Ritter, 56-27. Danville defeated Greencastle, 44-0. OPPONENTS' RECORDS: Indianapolis Chatard 56-41, Danville 57-73. SERIES LAST 30 YEARS: Indianapolis Chatard, 13-1. LAST MEETING: Danville, 40-35, Nov. 4, 2016, sectional. PREDICTION: Danville, 28-27. This predicts Danville as the winner by 1. Sagarin has Chatard as the favorite by 3 or 4. You can see how dominate Chatard has been in the series. It has all the makings of a great game.
  7. Sagamore Conference 2017

Congratulations to all 3 remaining Sagamore Conference Teams and good luck tonight in their sectional finals. Friday, Nov. 3 Southmont at Brebeuf Jesuit, 7 pm Greencastle at Danville, 7 pm Western Boone at Park Tudor, 7 pm
  8. Sectional 30

Danville will host Greencastle for the Sectional 30 final. Tri-West certainly had their chances against Danville, but Danville's defense and their ability to run the ball against a tough defense led to the win. Greencastle avenged a regular season loss to beat Sullivan. Sounds like they had success running the ball and playing tough defense as well. Danville and Greencastle played each other last year in the sectional and Danville won a close game 21-14.
  9. Sectional 30

SECTIONAL 30 [BRACKET] Sullivan [9-1] at Greencastle [6-4] Tri-West [5-5] at Danville [10-0] Sectional Semi-Finals this week. Both of these games are re-matches from earlier games this season. Sullivan beat Greencastle 41-10 at Greencastle on 9/22. Danville beat Tri-West at Tri-West 27-14 on 9/15. It's always tough to beat a team twice during the year.
  10. Sectional 30

I think Danville has to be the favorite in the bottom of the bracket based on their undefeated record. Monrovia has played some tough competition this year and has a championship pedigree. Tri-West is playing their best football heading into the tournament and has gained some confidence with a few wins in a row. I don't think the Warriors can sleep on their first opponent either. South Vermillion has a lot of momentum heading into the tournament as well. Coach Barrett has the Wildcats believing.
  11. Sectional 30

I don't think you can ever count out Tri-West or Monrovia either. Both programs have great tournament histories and are used to playing in big games. Sullivan is the favorite to come out of the top of the bracket. Looks like there will be a slug fest in the bottom of the bracket. I am looking forward to an exciting 3 weeks of football.
  12. Sagamore Conference 2017

Congratulations to Danville on a Sagamore Conference Championship! Coach Woods and his staff are doing a great job with the program after some down years. Those kids had to be excited. Hopefully, Frankfort can get some more kids out to play football. Good luck to all the Sagamore Conference Teams in the State Tournament as well.
  13. Game announcing

We have had similar questions about the "play by play" at Southmont. When an announcer declares the quarterback drops back to pass, declares a hand-off, or maybe even announces a reverse, does it give the defense an advantage? It seems like it shouldn't be allowed.
  14. Sagamore Conference 2017

Heading into the last 3 weeks of the regular season. Hopefully Danville and Webo can stay healthy this week. It should be a great showdown in week 8.
