  1. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

Sure, all they have to do is find a college coach who has school aged children who wants to move to Floyd's Knobs, and put together a travel Football team .
  2. Noblesville hires new HC

    Are video taboo as well?
  3. Noblesville hires new HC

You sir win the Internet for the day. I ain't going to lie, I really like where this thread is headed.
  4. Noblesville hires new HC

I can drive! This place you say you're looking for That's a place I used to know Don't know the number of the road But I can tell you how to go James McMurtry @7979 I haven't read this entire thread, but I think you're a little blinded by your own glowing resume. Belhmer is an animal, he coaches his :p off. I'm not sure why you'd take a shot at a fellow coach that you seemingly don't even know.
  5. You're such a wordsmith, I guess it was the Catholic education. I would agree. I knew at the time decline wasn't the word I was looking for. Definitely a play on philosophy and I get that. NFL refs are still the best in the business as far as I'm concerned, but IR has changed the way it's officiated. I've tried to be forthcoming, wearing either a coaching hat or a fan hat, I don't like IR and never will. Make a decision and lets play.
  6. We had a high profile ejection in week 9 some years back, requiring a player to sit out the first round of the tournament which was a huge game for the team involved. The HC involved was very quick to offer up an iPad on the sidelines, claiming he had all the answers. Oddly enough he still hasn't released the game video to us via Hudl that we asked for prior to the game. I understand many teams are using various video programs on the sidelines today. And there are certainly instances this could help us. The issue I have is the actual implementation. Yes many teams have this technology available to them, but most do not. For the record, I am not an advocate of IR. I think any stoppage of play gives an advantage to someone. TO's are a given and both teams have them, that's fine. But seriously late in a game where a team has used all their TO's and you're essentially give them another one. As @bobref has stated, I think officials as a whole want one thing, they want the call right. But at what price? Time, money, advantage/disadvantage? I have no evidence to support my opinion, it's just my gut feeling. I believe that NFL officials are hands down the best officials in sports. But even with the NFL, as IR has become more pervasive, I think there has been a decline in the level of officiating in the NFL. Perhaps decline is not the right word, as they are still really good.
  7. I should preface by saying I'm not a fan of instant replay. I think it totally screws up the flow of the game. Who's paying for the infrastructure? You're paying me 70 bucks for my time/gas on a Friday night, offer very little training with zero feedback, not to mention my cash out of pocket for licensing, study materials, gas, and time. And now you're going to spend tens of thousands to add instant replay......makes perfect sense to me. As far as the officials in the tournament, those are the officials the coaches want. That's who they voted for.
  8. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

It is my understanding that you play your cluster on specific weeks. The non-cluster games are also on specific weeks, thus setting up a fairly simple rotation. Leaving three specific weeks for non-conference games. Agree on the football scheduling. The real issue in this mess is picking up the 1-2-3 year contacts in the interim why you get it changed around.
  9. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

Why are four schools playing 6 and four schools playing 7? Can you tell us what the clusters are?
  10. Hoosier Hills Conference 2017

18-19 was the agreed upon year HHC teams only had to play 6 conference games. It appears Madison, New Albany, Jennings County, and BNL took advantage of that. East, FC, Jeff, and Seymour did not. As to why the change in date, my guess is it has something to do with the CI shakeup.

  12. Given the Colts O Line, perhaps they should go after him.
  13. 1. Pretty much sums up my thoughts. 2. Running QB's are fun to watch. But you're not going to win a championship with Fran Tarkenton, Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick, Vince Young, or Baker Mayfield. 3. I guess time will tell. 4. Purdue certainly gets the nod, but we'll see how many championships to two of them bring to West Lafayette. 5. FC will fare about the same as they did in CI, upper mid pack in most sports. 6. Quite a year for the Warriors. If they complete the double Saturday what a year for BB. From what I heard from the SS, they were out played the entire game and NA snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. I was told they led twice in the game, after the first shot, and after the last shot. 7. Hopefully the young man will find the right fit for him, whether it's OSU, IU, or Franklin College. 8. I really could not care less. 9. Good from MC. 10. I believe this situation to be a natural progression. We are losing a lot of really young coaches to burnout. And who could blame them? I'll ask the same question I continue to ask, does it really require all the time that coaches put in, or do they just do it because the guy the next town down the road is doing it?
