  1. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2017/10/19/turkey-run-warriors-end-line-school-football-team/780293001/ A bittersweet story, but highlights the inevitable contraction of Indiana High School football. BTW, I don't mind the name of the new consolidation, but the mascot is rather generic.
  2. They have already paid their money. Just post a "no refunds" sign and you are good to go.
  3. I am considering it. They really haven't been competitive for several years. And various socioeconomic factors in the Frankfort community tend to reduce the number of OMG! Athletes walking the halls who can participate in extracurricular athletics, making FHS a '4A' school with a 2A sized talent base. And those athletes more and more are gravitating to the burgeoning soccer program which just celebrated it's first sectional title in 17 years. All the factors are against Frankfort becoming competitive in tackle football for the foreseeable future. Perhaps the resources it consumes could be better used somewhere else.
  4. Umm, unless all of those attending a high school athletic contest for free it most certainly is a business. Probably one with very low margins and basically designated as non-profit, but a business nonetheless.
  5. No, just that you should be above performing "FTFY-edits" of other GID members posts, especially GID members who post comments and opinions you do not agree with.
  6. So that is the purpose of a GID administrator? Why not let the readership decide on their own, without your own personal biases thrown in behind the weight of your position here on the GID?
  7. CP's current record since 2008, the year of the 96-0 (never forget) game: 49-54 with zero sectional titles. Less than .500 isn't necessarily the definition of 'successful'. Please elaborate on the subjective term "better off", used in 2 out of your 3 questions.
  8. Hoosier Conference 2017

Looks like the LCC football powers-that-be convinced Mr. Coller to retire sooner rather than later.
  9. NFL Touchdown Celebrations

Old fart chiming in: Just wait until a player hurts himself while performing one of these antics. Coaches and owners will put a stop to it quickly.
  10. Sagamore Conference 2017

Narrowly beating another 0-8 team is really nothing to get that worked up over. Frankly with the FHS soccer team on the rise (1st sectional title in 17 years, got beat by a p/p team in the regionals) the football program will continue to decline. Simply not enough OMG! athletes walking the halls that have the desire and means to participate.
  11. I already told you, Chief. In my response to your initial question.
  12. How do you believe high school extracurricular athletic programs should be financed?
  13. Is that how the Chatard AD runs his department?
