  1. Southridge Sectional

Southridge beat a favored Sullivan team. The Raiders seem to be really coming on in the latter part of the season. They came close to beating Jasper a couple of weeks ago. Tonight's game against Vincennes should be a pretty good matchup. SHS has the home court advantage.
  2. Current D1 Recruits: Offers/Verbals

Two Vincennes players have signed. Graham Toole has signed with Butler U and Caden Kotter has signed with Air Force. http://www.wzdm.com/2018/02/08/two-lhs-football-players-sign-college-letters-of-intent/
  3. That is not the same Carroll HS. I was talking about the FT Wayne school.
  4. Why is it always referred to as (Carroll) Ft Wayne and not just Ft Wayne Carroll?
  5. I just saw a TV sports report here in Atlanta that 36 high school coaches in Georgia make over $100,000 a year. The highest is the Colquitt County (Moultrie) coach. He makes $132,000 a year and doesn't teach any classes. I wonder how Indiana coaches are doing.
  6. Charlestown Regional

CHARLESTOWN Greensburg [20-3] vs. Vincennes Lincoln [21-4] Salem [22-4] vs. Evansville Memorial [16-6]
  7. Big 8 Conference 2017-18

It looks like Princeton is definitely going to win the Big8. Only Jasper can stop them and if they do they would most likely tie for the title. Vincennes hosts Washington tonight and I think they will end up with 2 losses and finish behind the top two.
  8. Sectional 63

What has happened to Washington Catholic over the last few years? They used to be a real factor in basketball and soccer. I know these things can be cyclical, but they seemed to have fallen off the map.
  9. I think ethnic demographics play a huge role. In Georgia and all southern states, there is a much larger percentage of AA students outside of metropolitan areas. In the north most AA students are concentrated in cities, often inner cities. As we all know inner-city schools seldom are competitive in football for a variety of reasons and produce very little football talent. I think these reasons and warmer winters are the real reasons that there is a big difference in talent coming out of high schools.
  10. Vincennes / Jasper

I am wondering if Kotter will finally be in the lineup tonight for Vincennes. He would be a big help.
  11. Vincennes Lincoln 2017-2018

Have either of the girls been able to return?
  12. Big 8 Conference 2017-18

Has Vincennes gotten all their players back from injury?
  13. Number of Games Allowed !

I would like to see Indiana increase the number of regular season and tournament games played prior to the playoffs. Both Illinois and Kentucky play significantly more games. It could be done in increments over a 3 or 4 year period. There are some pretty good reasons for doing it. Increased revenue and game experience would be my top two. I haven't done the research , but looking at national rankings each year it seems Indiana is way near the bottom of games allowed. Many nationally ranked teams have 5 to 10 more games played vs Indiana. Many states are more aligned with the Illinois and Kentucky range. I know Indiana is always slow to move forward (still no Sunday alcohol sales), but it would be a positive move I think.
  14. I think Indiana was one of the last states to begin a football playoff tourney due to basketball. They didn't want football to take the focus off basketball. This resulted in downgrading football at the high school level and it carried over into college programs as well and we still see the effects today. Indiana has nearly a quarter of the high schools that don't even play football. In Georgia even tiny private schools with fewer than 100 students play football.
