  1. Big 8

Vincennes 4-1 @ North Knox 2-3 Vincennes is the favorite, but NK would love to stop them. Vincennes is without some players due to suspension. Mt Vernon 1-4 @ Boonville 2-3 This will probable be a close game. I think BHS has the edge. Princeton 2-3 @ Jasper 3-2 I have to go with Jasper in this game by a couple of touchdowns or more. Mt Carmel 1-3 @ Washington 3-2 Mt Carmel is having a down year. This will probably be close. WHS may be looking ahead to Vincennes next week. WHS for the win.
  2. Youth/Feeder Programs

Here in the Atlanta area there are youth football associations that run the programs from Kindergarten up through 8th grade. It is all tackle. The K teams are kind of fun to watch and they don't get hurt really. They look like the Michelin tire guy running around and bumping into each other.
  3. Jasper (3-1) at Vincennes (3-1)

Great game. Congratulations to both teams. I think they both can continue to improve as the season goes on and be ready for tournament play. Here is a picture from the Vincennes Sun Commercial of #3 Spencer Corrona and Jasper's Sam Dewitt.
  4. Jasper (3-1) at Vincennes (3-1)

Levi Salters is the new coach and it looks like he is the real deal !
  5. Big Eight 2017

The game is in Vincennes. It looks to be dry there , but probably raining in Washington for the Princeton game.
  6. Big Eight 2017

Looks like rain for tonights game.
  7. Big Eight 2017

Vincennes JV over Boonville last night at BHS 20-16.
  8. Big Eight 2017

Week 3 Schedule : Lexington Christian KY 2-0 @ Vincennes 2-0 Vincennes had a big win over Boonville. L Christian won big over Pikeville. They were 12-1 last year and return 19 starters. Jasper 1-1 @ Boonville 1-1 Jasper got a close win over Southridge and Boonville will try to get back on track . Mt Vernon 0-2 @ Mt Carmel 0-1 Both lost last week but MC looks to be the stronger team. Princeton 0-2 @ Washington 1-1 Washington was impressive in their win over Bosse. Princeton lost a close one to Pike Central.
  9. Big Eight 2017

I am suprised by the Vincennes score and by Washington pounding Bosse. Vincennes had two different QBs throwing for tds. Vincennes plays Lexington Christian at home this week. I have no idea how good they are. They are a 2A or 3A size school out of Kentucky.
  10. Big Eight 2017

I am going to make my picks for this evening. I think Vincennes will handle Boonville. Boonville is improving , but not there yet. I have to go with Jasper over Southridge. It will be pretty close, but Jasper should get the win. I like Princeton over Pike Central. The Tigers seem to be the stronger team. I expect North Posey to take Mt Vernon. They looked great last weekend. I have not idea about Mt Carmel. I'll pick them since they are a Big 8 team.
  11. Big Eight 2017

Week two in the Big 8 : Boonville 1-0 at Vincennes 1-0 Boonville will try for a rare win at Vincennes. Southridge 1-0 at Jasper 0-1 Jasper tries to bounce back after a tough loss to Memorial and Southridge is coming off a big win over Linton. Princeton 0-1 at Pike Cenral 0-1 Princeton had a tough loss to Ev North and P Central lost to Bosse. North Posey 1-0 at Mt Vernon 0-1 NP rolled over S Spencer last week and MV lost to a strong Heritage Hills team. Mt Carmel 0-0 at Harrisburg 0-0 Illinois teams get their season underway.
  12. Big 8 2017

I think Vincennes would be much easier and closer to get to than Jasper. Only Pike Central would travel further and longer. Huntingburg would most likely be used for a 2A sectional. VU has a nice facility with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby also. Parking is pretty easy also.
  13. Big 8 2017

Jasper has been moved up to 4A due to the success factor. They were 3A runner up this year. They will now play in the Evansville 4A sectional. That leaves Vincennes, Princeton, Washington, Pike Central, and Gibson Southern in the 3A sectional. I wonder if Vincennes U's Blemkin Field could be the new site of the sectional ?
  14. Big Eight 2017

Lets see some Big 8 JV scores.
  15. Big Eight 2017

It is strange that Illinois schools haven't started their seasons yet. Georgia schools have already played two games.
