  1. And I think this one was 55 from after Bremen in 1995 to New Prairie in 2004
  2. Nope, you are correct. Elkhart Memorial in 1985 until Mishawaka in 2010. I was at both.
  3. Marian Football rumors

The student-athletes not being notified is not the Tribune's fault. The rumor was running rampant Friday night before the basketball game. And just because it was confirmed through Coach Glon doesn't mean it wasn't confirmed. The problem is if you announce a Tuesday press conference on a Friday, it lends itself to trying to find out why there would be a press conference. High schools don't typically call press conferences. So there's going to have to be a pretty good reason. Didn't take much to connect the dots.
  4. Marian Football rumors

For all the bashing of the Tribune going on here...the only thing missing from the article is that Coach Glon is staying on as an assistant. The article was right in that he will no longer be the head coach.
  5. When you look at the SB HS enrollment figures, what stands out is Adams continues to rise. Right now, it is the public school of choice for SB schools, for a number of reasons, including curriculum and administration. Clay and Washington both face declines, and I would say for similar reasons. However, I would say the fact that Clay has been made a fine arts magnet definitely puts it at a competitive disadvantage in all sports. And the shuffling of coaches...four in four years now in football...obviously doesn’t help. I think they had one sport with a winning season last year (baseball) and their softball team is competitive. Other than that, it’s a bumpy road. I would have no problem if South Bend wanted to take athletics out of Clay. Their fine arts program has been outstanding and recognized nationally, so it would appear to be a worthwhile curriculum. I could also see them closing the school at some point and going to three high schools.

  7. I noticed on the IHSAA release that Jerry Baker is not on any of the broadcasts this weekend. How long had he been doing the games?
  8. It's a safe bet. That's the 46 Game of the Week!
  9. Here's an oddity that baffles me. WHME is carried on cable in Michigan City, but not in LaPorte. So it makes you wonder if they would ever do a LaPorte game, since I doubt that many people there watch TV on a big antenna.
  10. Sectional 19 - 4A North

Angola-NorthWood will be the WHME Game of the Week this week.
  11. It wasn't listed because it's next week.
