Angola at Eastside - Eastside upsets Angola. "NECC Championship" goes to Eastside

Churubusco at Fairfield - Busco...hopefully Fairfield bounces back next year

Garrett at Central Noble - Central Noble over Garrett. Watched Garrett vs Dekalb earlier and was not impressed with either team. CN riding high still after a loss

Lakeland at Fremont - My game of the week since Fremont did not play Lakeland last year. How high can scoreboards go?

Prairie Heights at West Noble - West Noble brings PH back down to earth after their huge win vs Fremont

Weather will be cooperating.

My picks minus the FF game....

The comment above is CRAZY.....I know one can't go game to game...but humor me just a little...West Noble lost to Eastside 9-8....the next week they lost to Angola 72-21.  that was a while ago....and maybe I'm wrong....but Eastside is NOT in the league of Angola this year...neither is anyone else in the NECC.  Unless Angola has a tremendous meltdown, or they have key injuries, or players ineligible for some reason (not hinting at anything...just saying).........there is no way that this is a close game.  Sorry Blazers, but Angola is legit.

Angola 42  Eastside 7

Garrett at Central Noble....I do believe that Garrett could get man-handled up front tonight.  We shall see.  Everyone is picking the Cougars, but I think it could go either way.  I will go with the home team in a tight one.

Central Noble 21 Garrett 20

Lakeland at Fremont....I agree with everyone's comments on this one.  There is a huge difference from top to bottom in this conference, and unfortunately for the Eagles, they are near the bottom.  Will see how compassionate Coach T. is tonight.  Lakeland gets my vote for most improved NECC team so far this season.

Lakeland A lot Fremont....0

West Noble vs. Prairie Heights....this is a perfect example of the difference in our conference.  This will be a lopsided matchup.

West Noble 35  PH 0

My picks this week minus the FF game:

Angola 45  Wawasee 7

Central Noble 35 Whitko 0

Churubusco 49 Northfield 21

Eastside 41 Southern Wells 7

Fremont 6  Southwood 50

Lakeland 21  Heritage 0

Garrett 21  Ft. Wayne Concordia 28

West Noble 7 Ft. Wayne Luers 21

Woodlan 70 Prairie Heights 0

I think at least 5 (hopefully more) NECC teams will be left tonight.

It'll be hard to pick these games.  I think that Angola has the best chance of winning.  I think that both games could be close.

Congrats to Angola on a Sectional Championship and to Central Noble on an amazing season.  Kudos to Coach Thomas and Coach Moe.

I agree.  What a great turn around for CN, and a great run thus far for Angola.  Angola has beat some impressive teams in Leo, Jimtown, Northwood, and CMA.

Can see them winning some more! Great to see an NECC team really make some noise in the playiffs

Congrats to the Hornets, they came out on top of the toughest 4A Sectional in the state....I like them vs BD this week, but you can't sleep on a BD program that is so used to November football.

I know the teams aren't looking ahead...but that Lowell/New Prairie game should be on par with the Angola/CMA matchup last Friday...setting up an epic Semi State battle

Lowell and New Prairie are both very tough...should be an interesting game, and the winner is most likely the favorite to make it to LOS.

Definitely true, both are great teams, but if you believe the hype going on in that thread, we might as well distribute the trophy's now!

back on the topic of the NECC, did anyone see the video of the Central Noble/Woodlan game where the kid was ejected/suspended for their upcoming regional against North Newton?

Not sure if any of you NECCers were in attendance and had thoughts beyond what the video showed.

Laville a 1a school made the 3 hour drive to N. Newton at the beginnng of the year and squeaked out a 3-0 win.  So hopefully N Newton has improved a lot since then.  If not Woodlan should be able to handle them fairly well.

Woodland 17

N Newton 3

I was in attendance, and from the stands, you couldn't really see much and didn't know what happened. All people knew was the one of the best players in the game suddenly was no longer in the game. Pretty unfortunate.

Any NECC coaches going to be in attendance to scout Angola next year or is this not a concern? I know a few Leo faithful will be there as we have watched Angola since our game earlier in the year.
