As a Fountain Central fan I can honestly say 2 is too high

After looking what the teams have done that  LCC has played so far,  Undefeated jeff , Guerin and Tipton I think catholic is probably too low.  Definitely will b ready for  pioneer by season end.

How about Covenant Christian getting votes...still a young program there. Coach McWhorter's doing a great job.

Saw Neddenriep post the same results for 6A. Does Lake Central really have 18 votes?

People were impressed with the 45-0 loss to 2-2 Crown Point.

I used to be an AP voter back in the day. One of the issues is the voting takes place with drop-down menus - or at least did in the past. It's possible someone was trying to vote for Lawrence Central & gave Lake Central a second-place vote (the AP uses a sliding scale where a first-place vote is 20 points and a 10th-place vote is six).

I think we all know Pioneer is DARN good. Not sure who gave us a first place vote but hey, we'll take it. We aren't particularly concerned with polls either way.

Hmm...I've never gotten that from Kyle. I think he's very fair. Kyle talks up the teams that need to be talked up. Always has. One of the best writers at the Star.

Tell Coach Gilbert that Jon Easter says hello.

Neddenreip needs to venture outside of the MIC.  You never know, Kyle may find an additional school or two to "talk up." Anyway, no big deal that we disagree and I will certainly tell Coach Gilbert that you said hello!

I read an excellent article just this week by Kyle on Covenant Christian.  http://usatodayhss.com/2016/insider-meet-indianas-most-unexpected-undefeated-team

That article is from last year.  it was the Indy Star's annual small school "human interest" profile, following Indiana Deaf and Howe in the two years prior.
