Outstanding Players Nobody has heard of 2017 Edition

Love these threads:   Let me start one off by announcing that I nominate Jaeger Gill of Lowell Red Devils as a STUD PLAYER, that nobody has heard of.

Dude can flat out fly!!!  http://www.hudl.com/profile/4097702/jaeger-gill/videos

Justevich gets most of the publicity in land of 219 RDP, however, Mr. Gill can flat out HOUSE it anytime he has ball in his hands!!

I'll join in, obviously with a Linton boy_ Keaton cox.  Because most folks can't name a miner other than Tyler Meurer and thus don't know what kind of athlete on both sides if the ball that Cox is.....

You beat me to it Miner Pride!  Quarterback or safety, Cox is flat out great at either position.  Given the title of this thread, I guess we can't say, "Chance Howard" (Football Digest Top25 Players to watch in 2017).

We have one who I think won't be in the "nobody has heard of" category much longer. Sophomore running back Charlie Spegal. He sits in first currently in the nation (maxpreps) in rushing with 1141 yards and is averaging over 8 yards a carry. He's a beast in the weight room and has a bright future still ahead of him. He is pretty nasty at linebacker as well in short yardage situations.

Interesting thread. I will be NLC bias here, Jeremy Drudge safety from Plymouth. Kid is 6'3 and flat out hits. I believe he is averaging well over 10 tackles a game as a safety. Some may know of him because of playing D 1 baseball though.

Was this DRUDGE family that had a WR who played in the North South All Star game in Summer of 2015?   I think I remember a kid with that name on the team that year I coached.

Eli Pancol Pendleton Heights. I don't have any stats, I'm not sure on the ethics for me to share the video. The kid is an athlete who makes plays. He's a kid who's really stood out to me this season so far.

Knox has a RB/LB named Dawson Patric that looks like Mike Alstot carrying the ball. im guessing he goes 240 pounds or so and runs like a grown man. only a junior also Judson has a defensive tackle named Mike Clemons who is all over the field. this boy makes tackles 20 yards off the ball and his motor never stops moving. His motor don't quit and hes also a junior. So i guess Starke county has 2 junior studs. Caston had a kid by the name of Ault that seems to make every play.  Culver has a defensive lineman named Mcbee who is also a stud. Those are the ones ive seen in person so far who have really stood out.

Knox has an exceptional athlete that goes by the name Kooper Broeker. He's not only a good football player (QB/Safety) he also is an amazing basketball player and track star.

Pioneer has the Lewellen brothers, Ezra and Addai, both freshmen. They are both around 5'6-5'8 and weigh roughly 150. Both are game breakers and are making a big impact on both sides of the ball for the consensus #1 team in 1A. They were adopted from an orphanage in Sierra Leone in Africa when they were very young.

Believe it or not these are actually his frosh #'s. He has added about 50 to his bench and 90-100 on squat. As much as we run him it comes in handy!!

Are you just blowing smoke or can this kid really bench that much?  I mean, I have friends who played at Gibson Southern and a few that play for Wabash college and the only players i know who could bench over 375 were the big boys.  I think the smallest athlete I know who can bench over 350lbs is 6'2 270 lbs.

A former classmate of mine, 2 actually, were both 6'3 275 benching 375 and squating 600 but it took years and years of working out to get there and they werent really close to that until their junior year.

Im not trying to stir the pot at all but man....at 5'10, those are some seriously ridiculous numbers...and to add that the stats listed may be his freshman stats...idk...just seems a little young to me to be that developed.

A guy I went to college with was about 5'10 180 and I witnessed him bench 350+.....He wasn't a football player. I'm just saying it's possible.... I should add, though, that this guy did compete in bodybuilder contests....

Not smoke blowing, but I get your apprehension. The kid is a freak in the weight room. His older and younger brothers are/were as well. He definitely developed early and had experience in the weight room as a middle school student as well. The 4.5, 40 is the only one that is debatable because it was hand timed. I think he went 4.54 or something like that at a camp laser timed.

Senior Mitchell Orschell from Franklin County.  5'9 160lbs  1138 yards through 5 games.  According to Maxpreps, leading the nation in scoring with 136 points on the year.  Video timed at 4.51.  He is the real deal.  Kid power cleaned 275 before the season this year.  Not just speed but power too!
