OPENINGS: Week 3, 4 or 6 for 2015? NIC schools need fill games

Recommended Posts

Next year's new Northern Indiana Conference football schedules have yet to be finalized, but two schools -- Elkhart Central and Penn -- are need of a 9th game. Not speculation, but fact.

Penn eyeing a Week 3 vacancy. Elkhart Central has a Week 4 opening.

And because of the NIC rearranging of things, Elkhart Memorial is currently in search of a Week 6 opponent.

Just throwing it out there as my high school PSA for this week.

Penn, Elkhart Central, Mishawaka, Adams, Clay and St. Joseph will have fives which count in the NIC division standings. The other seven schools will have six games which count.

I know The SAC is filled now, but I sure wish Snider could keep Penn on their schedule if both schools, fans' bases, and so forth agree on that. .Seems it would be good for both programs given the competition level, proximity, and tradition over the years.. just a thought. .

Can't remember if I saw it on here or if someone else was telling me, but I heard that Bremen was able to keep Valley, Plymouth and Triton, and has a full schedule.  That's not definite, but I'm sure I saw or heard that somewhere.  Probably on the internet, and we all know that's always right!   B)

I know Penn picked up Brother Rice, Bloomfield, Michigan for 2015/16. Brother Rice has won the Michigan State Champion 2011, 2012 and 2013.

So it was the MI Brother Rice after all?

Praise him.

Brebeuf  got the Chicago Brother Rice, I believe this year. They are pretty good too. . maybe not quite what Michigan's is this year, but usually very tough, and plays in one of the toughest conferences in Illinois.
