New Prairie @ Northridge, North 4A Semistate

Recommended Posts

Let's not forget Wogoman was 13 games UNDER 500 at wawasee. Not exactly Lombardi like fellas..  Clearly has turned things around at NR, but I would wait a bit before claiming he's the next great coach in Indiana. The Senior class deserves as much if not more credit than a coach that is now just 43 42 in his career.. Don't tell me all of those Warrior teams were terrible either..

With that said, I hope and think NR wins Friday as many of you know.

New Prairie is only 192 yards shy of setting a new rushing yards record for the state set by another Radke coached team.

Have to feel that they have a legitimate shot at breaking that record this week. Going against a great defense in NR but still a realistic shot.

I don't think this will happen, but wouldn't this be a tremendous let down if somehow one team dominated the other?  From what I've read, most believe that this will be a tightly contested affair (I am among them), so a blow out seems, quoting Vizzini from The Princess Bride, inconceivable.

Where do you get this? Monrovia is 2nd in the nation in rushing at 5,396 yards, Columbus East is 3rd at 5,257 yards. New Prairie only has 3,056 yards on the ground.

I think you are a little off on your #'s. East and Monrovia are both within 200 yards of the team rushing record. New Prairie need 2000+.

LOOKS LIKE MAXPREPS MIGHT BE A LITTLE OFF.

New Prairie's official stat packs lists 5,454 yards. Don't know what's logged on MaxPreps.

was unaware that NP only needs 192 yards for the all-time season rushing record by a team. I would be shocked in NP doesn't get it this week as every game they usually have at least one running back get near 200 a game.

Does anyone have a good forecast for the game or what the weather has been like in middleberry lately. i've heard it might snow, it might rain, it's gonna be in the 40's, it's gonna be in the 20's, etc.

I believe NRs JV and freshman teams both went undefeated. Losing all those seniors is tough but I think the raiders will manage just fine under wogomon.

Freshman team is impressive, they are also playing other freshmen.

One thing to think about in the JV undefeated season.  With that many seniors playing varsity it is hard to get the Juniors in the game for experience.  So most will play at the JV level against some competition that isn't at that level yet.  I know Plymouth's JV struggled this year but we also had quite a few Juniors and Sophomores playing varsity football on Friday nights.  I just feel like being undefeated at the JV level doesn't necessarily correlate to having success at the varsity level with the same kids.

It's Northern Indiana in Mid-November.  I think you have received the correct forecast.  :D

Lucky, I would add, We have had 7 undefeated Freshman teams over the last 15 seasons, clearly doesn't mean much!! lol.. yes we are Warsaw, but Jensen is a pretty good coach. None of this means anything other than NR having very very little experience returning. The least I can ever recall. Next year will be very very difficult for them IMO, no matter how good or bad Wogoman is..

In researching New Prairie's rushing yards stats at MaxPreps, I discovered that only the first 8 games of the year are included so far.  Whoever updates the stats as New Prairie's representative for the MaxPrep site has not updated any of the numbers since the October 10, 2014 game.  Hence, there are 5 games worth of data not included in the stats, both at a team level and at an individual level.

If I were other teams in the NLC I would not underestimate the strength of the NR team next year, Yes we will graduate a ton of talent  but the junior class is strong.  I would predict a plus 500 season next year  and getting a lot stronger the two years after ,  this years freshman class has a lot of talent , reminds me a little of this years senior class .   A lot  of work ethic  has been passed on  to underclassmen,  I believe the Raiders are here to stay,

Just a quick post to my   buddies in the bleachers:  It has been an honor and privilege to hold down the top row with you guys the last 4 years.  ( more commonly known as DHC,  )  while my son will graduate this year I will be back next season to carry on the tradition of being loud and obnoxious and starting the feared goose egg chants as our raiders have opportunities for shut outs.  I will see you all there tonight ,and hopefully somewhere in the top left corner of lucas oil.

With Memorial, Goshen and your out of conference being fairly easy wins, 500 ish is likely, . But sorry, no one will fear NR next year brother.. In fact, they will now have a target on their back, which they never have had before... As an earlier poster mentioned, Wogoman still has allot to prove.. Look back at his Wawasee years... He was lucky to keep his job after year 3. He was an average to below average NLC coach...  One year doesn't make a great coach or program..

Is there any snow on the field in Middlebury?

If weather was better what a crowd this could be

I don't believe the word fear was used and it won't be used when teams face Northwood next year either and trust me when I tell you no one here in Middleberry would trade Woggomon for your coach

One year? At least give us two years of success or did you already forget the 38. 14 beat down you got in 2013

Regardless of next year, no one can argue that Coach Woggomon has done a brilliant job at Northridge.  Looking at their all-time records on northernindianafootball.com, winning seasons have been few and far between in Middlebury.  It would be foolish to think that this season is simply the blind squirrel theory in action.

Get to the game tonight and enjoy it fb2.......Quit reminising with the bitter fans (backerfan) from teams that didn't make it this far.......Banking on having a better team than NR next year to back thier desire for revenge.........

(FYI - that was gloating......NR fans have historically been on the recieving end of that in the NLC........)

Go Raiders - Hope you make the Oil Can next week.....

Okay, I am making it my mission today to keep chirping if for no other reason than to keep the NR-NP thread at the top of the GID list.

I didn't see an answer about snow at Northridge.  Anyone know anything?

SF estate has a dusting - guessing the field will be snow-free.  SF recomends a butt-pad though, those aluminum bleachers historically aren't known to be warm.......SF still has 2 of the old Heritage Knights pads at home and can endorse them as able to keep the grill-marks from the frozen bleachers off the bum.....

Here's a good question, with the temperature being right at freezing and mostly below for this entire week, is the football field surface frozen??   The hardest hits in this game might be from hitting the ground?
