if Pioneer plays Southwood it will be at Southwood, another disadvantage for PHS.  So we'll hope for freezing temps and high winds and see if that Southwood offense is made for late November playoff football!!!

Wouldn't it be an advantage for the Pioneer players to have good footing and a fast track? They wont get that at the Pit.

Laville played Southwood at Southwood last year for sectional finals and you are 100% correct on the disadvantage. That game was so poorly officiated that when the officials left the field they were surrounded and escorted to their vehicles by law enforcement. Even Southwood parents were coming up to us after the game apologizing.  1 touchdown we scored was called a fumble a full yard after crossing the goal line. We actually had a photographer on the goal line taking pictures and video that proved the score. But Laville should never had been in such a tight game so we didn't blame everything on officiating. We blamed ourselves for not capitalizing when the opportunity presented itself.

Understand this thread has run its course but..

LCC was effective throwing the ball...When they had time. Was surprised we didn't see more bubble game or trips looks from LCC. Was that because of the push up front that Pioneer's D-line was getting?  I felt like Pioneer should have came with extra guys more often.  Sat back in coverage too many times and as was said on here multiple times, passing game was able to exploit Pioneer's only weakness. Even with #4 deep over top, a good qb will be able to look him off. He did make a great play to be in the area for that first INT. Little luck never hurt anybody but he had to get there in the first place to have a shot.

YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR THE DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR POSITION

Would love to but I travel too much and I'm more of an offense guy myself.

Look the result is what it is. Pioneer got the job done handily.

Was my assessment inaccurate? Seemed pretty obvious that when the QB had time, he completed passes, and when he didn't have time and was flushed he didn't.

My mistake for making conversation on a message board.

Regardless... The game is over. On to the next thread.

Just watched the game on youtube and Pioneer's o-line was incredibly fast coming out of their stances.  I sincerely hope that Walker and Nic R. are not seriously injured.  I feel Walker is the best center in Class A.  I noticed Pioneer was using him to pull block during the game which isn't something you see everyday at the high school level.  I felt Pioneer had more depth at the line positions this year in comparison to the 2015 team for example, and now that might be sternly tested.

I have no problem with the time out at the end of the game.

If I was a LCC coach I wouldn't worry about trying to get to the end zone I would want my guys to end their season on a clean properly executed play.

Southwood's field sits in a valley between the High School and White's Institute.  No wind.
