Barr-Reeve 29 Dubois 26

Recommended Posts

Another slow down affair led to a bad night for BR, and perhaps a catastrophic one.

BR's two starting bigs, Keegan O'Neil and Austin Ainscough both left the game in the 2nd half with injuries. In the case of O'Neil it looked like just a turned ankle, but with Ainscough it was the knee. Hopefully for their sake the injuries are not serious.

Kind of an interesting end game in this one - With approximately 3 minutes left BR had just gone ahead by 1 point and dropped back in a zone. Dubois decided to stand with the ball and let the clock run down for the last shot. BR stayed back. From the BR perspective I thought it was clearly the correct coaching decision. They had 2 starters out with injury, had not shown the ability to really pressure Dubois, and had not been good on the offensive end either. In addition the officials (a good crew) had not called many cheap fouls so you didn't have to worry about them bailing the offensive team out. The interesting thing is I also thought it was the correct strategy for Dubois. They played the entire game with a strategy of wanting to stay close enough to have a chance to win at the end. Well, there it was. In fact they did get a good shot as their guard beat his defender and caused help to pick him up which left not only a good look but a good chance for a rebound. The shot missed and Quentin Yoder made a great play to get the rebound (he was the help side defender). He was fouled and made both free throws. Quentin Yoder is a good player that struggles to get on the court because of match up issues. However there will be teams down the road where he will match up better.

That is the second time this year a team has tried to slow it down against BR and it almost worked but BR was able to find a way to win both.  These type of games are good for them and definitely will help come tournament time because I'm sure this will be the same approach from other teams.  I hope for the best for the Ainscough kid but seems like anymore knee injuries are usually more than just a sprain.

:07_v:No. I'm not good with names, but the crew was guys we see a lot in this area. They are good officials and did a good job in this particular game.

It was a joke. The Cave brothers were notorious homers way back when.

Update if anyone hears anything about Ainscoughs injury  . I think br has got to have him to have success this year .

Report is sprained MCL. Could have been worse.
