Is it Ben Davis or Indianapolis Ben Davis?

Regardless of which corner, hamlet , region or county of the state you come from, surely you've heard of this program.

It has always been Ben Davis as far as I have known.

I refer to them as just Ben Davis.

I would bet that if you asked where Ben Davis football is at in FL, TX or CA a high percentage of people would say they don't know. But 99.9% would answer Indianapolis if you said Indianapolis Ben Davis

When Indianapolis is used, it has meant the IPS high schools; Indianapolis Tech, Indianapolis Washington, Indianapolis Broad Ripple, Indianapolis Manual. The city name has never been used with the suburban schools in the Indy area; not that I have ever seen anyway.

It was a good move and the only move for Homestead and Carroll. They could have tried to play as independents, I guess, but scheduling would have been a pain. As stated by someone earlier, they got kicked out of the NHC anyway- and for more sports than just football, it seems.

Personally, I think it's good for the city to have them in the SAC- I really like to see Homestead play Snider, Dwenger, Luers, etc. Sounds like Snider would rather have a couple of open Friday nights to play tougher schools and I can understand. But all in all, I think it was the best thing for H & C, and for SAC football, IMHO.

I wonder if they'll ever be allowed in as a full member in all sports....
