NIC Coaches. Where are we?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

I have been away for awhile and thought I would see how life in the NIC is moving along.

1. With the merger of Central and Memorial, which head coach from those schools will now coach the merged Elkhart High School?

2. How is the Mishawaka coaching search coming along? Have they began the interview process? Who is in the running? Andy Thomas of Angola? Craig Redmond? The leftover Elkhart coach? Someone on the inside that was a coordinator? Cory Betzer?  Barron from Plymouth? Who did I miss?

No. No. No. Yes. No. No.  Just because you apply does not mean you are in the running.  The Elkhart coach is not going to be an issue until 2020 I believe.

Thomas and Kinder are the names I hear most for the Mishawaka job.

Keith is a great educator and coach.  Very good guy and deserving.

Andy is also, though I have not had the pleasure of working w him as much as Keith in our (KV) times at Option Camp.

Mishawaka would hit it out the park with hiring Thomas but I don't see him leaving Angola. Having family play for Leo and WN the Angola program is amazing to watch. Can't imagine seeing him leave after what he built.

Would have been 8 out of 8 if they would have used the 10-1 defense.

why did you remove the "press conference tomorrow" post?

i was wondering why a school would do a press conference at the high school level?

I know WLFI in Lafayette has a HS Coach Live every Friday night after games in studio as well, part of the Frenzy .

Any positive exposure is a good thing.

Long story.  Spoke out of turn.  As to why high schools do pressers, good question.
