Will Beech Grove ever take the next step in trying to improve on getting deeper in the playoffs by leaving the Crossroads conference?

One would have to ask

Why would leaving equal improvement in tournament performance?

I would like to see Delta and Yorktown leave the Hoosier Heritage Conference, and have Greenwood and Beech Grove take their place.

I wonder the same thing, it's not like they have a easy go of it in the ICC, all smaller school's then Beech Grove and recent state champ's in the ICC and deep tournament teams pretty much year in and out. Seems to me they have it pretty tough where they are, at least till they start dominating the ICC which they haven't as of yet.

I guess they would think about leaving if they actually dominated in the ICC. One would have to ask, why would they want to leave to improve when they still have improving to do within their own conference. They are a 4a school in a conference of normal 2A and 1A schools.

I would simply like to see those schools in a conference that doesn’t stretch all the way to Shelbyville and New Pal.  I would like to see them in a conference that includes similar sized schools closer to them like Jay County, Mississinewa, Eastbrook, maybe Blackford.  It isn’t happening any time soon because they aren’t leaving the HHC, and the CIC isn’t interested in expansion.  That’s why I said “I would like to see...”

Your view on travel for conference games is genuinely adorable.

Delta to Shelby  1h 30min

Delta to NewPal  1h 14min

Yorktown to Shelby 1h 49min

Yorktown to NewPal  1h 44min

On a Friday night that is still a long trip yes. But for JV and Freshmen Games during the week is tooooo far.

I see your point.

@Butter Bean and @DanteEstonia are you guys experts on EVERY conference and what schools need to be in it?

I simply bring in a different perspective on travel for HS athletics, but that's bound to happen when you have to ride a bus for 8 hours, one-way, for a playoff game.
