Actually meant last years seniors and year before. I’m guessing a combined 14-0 or close to it?  I’m just not sure looking at one age groups record when they are 14/15 years old means much.  Numbers is overrated. It’s more about finding a few athletes from different classes along with a few tough kids and making the pieces fit.

It’s our approach that every level from 7th to JV is critical.  It’s how we rural public schools have to play the game to have even a glimmer of hope against the P/Ps.  Guess we just come from two different worlds.

I was just asking because of the numbers mentioned about Memorial's freshmen.  I just wasn't aware of any SIAC school that hadn't fielded a frosh squad in a while.  Especially after a state championship season.  Memorial could very well bump up a class due to the success factor after this season.  That could be a little rough in the coming years with those numbers in the current frosh and soph classes.

I don't think anyone (at least anyone posting on the GID) knows the numbers for the EM incoming frosh at this point...  But based on prior years (and unless something radical has happened) the numbers for the incoming frosh and 8th grade classes should be fine.  Unlike GS, at EM we have to compete for numbers with another fall boys sport that has had a lot of success too....

IB Memorial will be happy to jump classes if success factor happens. :07_v:

IB No one in Gibson County wants you to bump up.  I'm also thrilled how much you seem to like our little mantra.  It's hard to duplicate that kind of community pride when you don't really have one.

Unless the overall current quality of 3A drops off versus the last couple of years, a move up to 4A would be a welcome respite for most upper end 3A teams.

Central wins it maybe splits between memorial.

Central is far more athletic than ppl give them credit for. Memorial has very very little depth.

Memorial air raid will be difficult to stop, but Central maybe the only team with the speed to run with them!  Just like last yrs game I witnessed first hand.

Memorial doesn’t have community pride?  That’s funny!!

I think Central will be really good.  Regional will be tough with East C. Two years ago Memorial gave one away to Central and last year Central took over in red zone on D. Then Evans put the game away quick. Hopefully this year will live up to hype.

I don’t think EC is going to be the same!  Just my opinion. We will have to see.  I think memorial gets stopped in semi state by Chatard this yr! I am excited to see and learn more about some smaller schools down there

I think Memorial fans would be thrilled to host Chatard at Enlow and see what happens.  I’m more concerned with trying to survive sectional 32

I was at Enlow in '08.  Love the facility......hated the outcome.  Maybe the coldest game I ever sat (stood) through.

As regards 4A, didn't Central lose their primary tailback and his brother?  I watched the Central v. East Central (who have a lot returning) game last year and it just seemed like EC controlled the 2nd half.

Right now, to me, Memorial has to be looked upon as the favorite in 3A.  Frankly, I would argue that the 3A State Championship last year was likely determined in the Sectional 32 Championship game.

32  definitely had good shot at getting to semi-state last year. Looking back I would rank the 4 teams we played for titles 1. Danville 2. Brebeuf 3 GS/Burg.

East Central will be better than last year. They return a TON from last years team.

Memorial has very very little depth.

Memorial will have the deepest group of offensive skill guys and DBs that I can remember. Not as much depth on Oline would be only concern.  But overall athletic depth in skill positions is off the charts.  There are 2 WRs that won’t start that could start on most teams. RBs will be really good.  FBs will be best in town at blocking and catching football out of backfield. Have about 10 DBs that can rotate and not lose anything. Basically looking at finding good rotation on Oline to keep them fresh for tournament. Memorials QB who is difficult to tackle and contain will help give Oline time to gel.  Obviously no team can replace an injury to a top player..ex Dunham last year.  I don’t care how much depth you have. Reitz has depth all over but couldn’t overcome Dunham’s injury. I’d say same for Memorial. If key skill guys stay healthy I like the Tigers chances.

Picture for the cover of courier and press football preview had QB theme. Weitop from Reitz is in the picture. Any truth to rumor he’s not playing QB this year?  Not sure why the courier and press wouldn’t just pick the best senior players in area for the cover every year. Combs kid is the best football player in SW Indiana and it’s not close.

Worse than that, they're going to have to replace the whole team..
