Hunter Johnson Decommits from Tenn to Clemson

I think some time these guys would be better off staying close to home.  I always felt Kiel hurt his chances by bouncing around.

So would have Bryant Fitzgerald ..... Ouch !  I would not  refer any player to ever attend indiana university for football. have you been paying attn the last hand full of years? At one point IU was in the top 3 in the nation in football team member crime.  Ralph Green Punching women , Former BD great eric allen selling heroin i believe , a sexual predator a year or so ago arrested and just a month ago a player(Camion Patrick) that had been on the team the previous couple years that was said By Kevin Wilson to be the best player on the team was arrested for Murder . He had  been allowed to continue school but was medically incapable of finishing his career.. Anyways there is just something not right here in Btown .  Really i live here... Something is Awry. I am a big hoosier football fan. I sat in the stands as a middle school runt and watched Anthony Thompson break records.  But this place is screwed

I have season tickets. Tevin and Jordan seemed to have been alright with the decision to go to IU, Feeney and Spriggs too..Simmie will be soon $$$$.. . Tegray, as well. Ouch!. Bryant Fitzgerald will be there next season.

Antonio Allen was the kids name, not Eric. And apparently you don't watch ESPN.. there's kids on every other team, unfortunately, being arrested for drugs or domestic abuse.

IU was never in the "top 3 for football player crime" lol.. that is an absolutely fabricated stat. Smh.

But I couldn't care less who you'd refer to a college, honestly.

All colleges have trouble with “criminals”.   Some athletes do a good job of hiding their true character.  Some coaches do invite questionable people to be in their programs.  Some kids turn their lives around. . . . some don’t.  If a college dresses 80 kids for a game,

90% of them are good people.  There are some bad people everywhere.

I hope that Hunter finds success at Clemson, but the kid coming in next year is a stud. I have watched his highlights from this year and watched him in the Elite 11, and he is deserving of the hype.

I recall reading an article that stated IU was in top 3 in arrests.  Not a fabrication . I am currently searching to find it. However here is a 'short list' i compiled in the last 15 minutes . Just another university ehhh ? They all have criminals ? Do they all have murderers, child molesters , drug dealing felons , burglars? The list below has all of those and all of them were at IU in the last couple handful of years.   Not looking to impress you on who i would refer to a college. The devil is in the detail below bro .

And P.S. Bryant Fitzgerald lost a year of his football playing  life because of the athletic department mistake that is under the same leadership that  was present when all of these and more occurrences happened . No biggie i guess. Just a year that the young man can't practice or play for a year of his prime athletic ability  .  Let us not forget about all of the player mistreatment allegations that are still coming forward and again the same leadership at the top is still there   Great program.

Until IU starts recruiting the state harder, they are always going to be in the bottom of the Big Ten.  Tired of watching 2nd & 3rd rate players from Florida and the south playing at IU.  These are guys no one in the SEC or ACC wants.  But IU rolls out the red carpet.  You can get most of these same players in state that care about the name on the front of the jersey.

Which players are you referring to?

3 of the players you mentioned weren't even with the program at the time of arrest lol ... Fitz will still have 4 years to play football. Simme and Robinson's arrests were about as petty as petty gets. Literally, literally every school in the country has those.

You literally can't get those same players from our state.

Off starters

Ohio- 4

IN-3

IL-1

MD-1

Texas-1

FL-1

Def starters

IN-2

Ohio-3

FL-2

GA-2

Absolutely no problem with that breakdown, especially considering the lack of depth our state possesses in football talent.

Clemson may start Hunter Johnson this week if the #1 can't go. I also read that next year another higher touted guy than hunter is coming to clemson.   This 'could' be Hunter's biggest chance to start at Clemson beyond 2017 if he has a bad game and bryant comes back chances may be slim with the guy coming net year.                                       http://www.lindyssports.com/college-football/acc/column/college-football-news/no-2-clemson-may-be-without-starting-qb-at-syracuse/450815/

I really wish Harabaugh would wake up with offensive struggles don't you think its time to give Brandon Peters a shot? I mean I just think you know what your getting with O'Korn and its not anything special not saying Peters is the answer to all the offensive issues BUT considering you got beat at home by a rival and your QB threw 3 INTs weather or not, and you have former 5 star QB just sitting on the sidelines waiting don't you think its time to see what he can do?

However good for Hunter Johnson if he does at least get his shot next weekend/ getting him in on a drive against WF at least you have some game tape to evaluate him on. Its all you can really hope for.

That's BS!  The players IU gets from Florida, Georgia, & Texas are players no one wants from football schools in those areas.  Why else would they leave home to come to a bottom dwelling Big Ten program.  How has it worked for IU?  How about we try something different.  Then maybe the top talent in the state won't go else where!  It might start being cool to play at IU.

These are major felonies, a guy doesn't just go out and commit a major felony. Which three were not with the program i have d angelp roberts camion was still enrolled in school here and was with the football team within a year. You don't think he was still a part of his former teammates lives?  The players were   within a few years at the most of leaving the program and were products of the program and their previous lives. The point that you and others  continue to ignore is that this is the type of character that iu is driving through their program    Camion Patrick was still taking classes here when arrested here on campus a month ago. Again you mention nothing about the major felonies of allen patrick enis and roberts. Murder Child molestation dealing narcotics armed robbery.  All within a year or  three of the players leaving the program .Enis and Allen and patrick were still on campus taking  classes. As well as the player mistreatment incidents and allegations that seem to get brushed under the rug . I am curious as to what will be next.    Most people will  remember these incidents. Lots though will continue to look at iu through rose colored glasses why , "Because it's Indiana " .   I stick by my comment i would not refer any high school kid to come play at indiana at least not under this leadership.  And i have good memories of IU  grew up here love the place.    Anyways best wishes to Hunter Johnson

Oh i forgot to add. Allen committed his crimes within view of the stadium. http://fox59.com/2015/06/17/iu-player-kicked-off-team-for-dealing-drugs-across-from-stadium/

Enis was arrested on campus during the season , D angelo roberts was the only major felon that waited until after leaving the school to commit his crime.

Again  Best wishes to Hunter Johnson

Only once, in 1979.

Blair Kiel and CE on their way to title were only losses. Just realized by looking up on Almanac, both losses on consecutive weeks. Only eight teams per class in playoffs (which made the opening round like today's regional) with only three classes. Quite an accomplishment. Bedford's opening win over Martinsville probably decider on who made it in with East-Bedford or Arties. Anyone know where there is data for the old qualifying points online?

Fitzgerald just turned 18 in May. He is a weight room hound!!  Yes it's is unfortunate that he was forced to red shirt because of IUs mistake but he still has 4 years of playing time! Often a closed door leads to a better opportunity!!

Bryant is still banged up but will start tonight. Hopefully Johnson is the first guy off the bench if Bryant stiffens up because Cooper looked awful last week. Trevor Lawrence is coming to Clemson in the Fall is an even higher rated prospect than Johnson was. I'm rooting for Hunter but a healthy Kelly Bryant gives the Tigers the best chance at a repeat given his similarities to what worked so well with Watson last season. Go Tigers

Should have in 1980 when they won the HHC and stopped East's winning streak.  But 2 close losses knocked the STARS out of the playoffs.  Playing Mitchell back then really hurt them for qualifying points, even with blow out victories.

The single biggest drawback to qualifier playoffs is that they limit scheduling freedom. Jasper and Mitchell made great rivals, but they could not be scheduled without a penalty.

I don’t think so.  Look at Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska...in state talent that’s competitive year in and year out.  Kids grow up dreaming of playing for their in state school.  IU could be the same. Instead we get kids from other states that IU is option C or D for.  Only end up coming after their top choices fall through...and could give a rats a$$ about the name on the front of the jersey.  I personally know of a Mr Football that wanted to go to IU and the coaches wouldn’t even return his call.

Oh and I’m not misinformed.  Actually went to IU and my roommate with a NFL 2nd round draft pick.

IU is on the right track with Allen. Give the guy time and you will see. He actually cares about the name on the front of that jersey and recruits will start to take notice of that. He's one passionate dude.
