Bowman is pretty much irrelevant when it comes to football.  0-9 programs should have their ping pong balls pulled anyways.

If I were a parent of a Bowman athlete I would pull my child off the roster and seek transfer opportunities.  Does not bode well for their college recruiting opportunities.

With such a complete lack of integrity, I think the school itself should be facing some harsh consequences, like Being shut down. There are no excuses for what was done here, and more people than just the coach and ad were involved; all in the name of winning. But since it is a charter school, I am sure no one in the Statehouse will do anything.

Bobby Cox has said that all transfers will be turned down due to being for athletic reasons.

Not sure what I think about this one.  While I do think the ones who were there and playing while ineligible should not be able to play elsewhere, I have a hard time with them telling a girls tennis player (or a participant in a sport that had everything done correctly--just using as an example) that they can not go elsewhere and play.

Of course the report also said that only 2 of the coaches completed the proper certification classes to coach, so maybe none of the programs were entirely being operated properly

At the end of Bobby Cox's video he thanked the Bowman principal and athletic director.  The very two people who should be fired.

Was he thanking the new AD?  Their has been a change in that capacity at TBA.

What I believe Mr. Cox is communicating is that Bowman self reported all of these once the Principal was made aware.  Principal immediately fired the AD/HC of Basketball and started their own investigation.  I believe he was commending their transparency and quick action, but still holding the school accountable for allowing it to occur in the 1st place.

That stood out to me as well, like...uh...

I feel for the kids of Gary. So many gifted people from that city. I wish there were more adults who care about those kids.

I hope I don't sound like there are not any adults that care about these kids. I'm sure there are quite a few very involved, very active adults in the Gary community. It saddens me that the "AAU" adults wield so much power

Example of letting AAU mentality get into school sports.

There is precedent for all-sports punishment for one sports violations albeit at the college level.  In the early sixties the NCAA banned IU from all post season competition because of football violations under coach Phil Dickens.  I believe it was for four years.  This was when Indiana had the best swim team in the country.  It didn't matter for basketball because only conference champions made the tourney and Indiana wasn't very good at that time.

They got bailed out last minute on their charter this past academic year.   Found a last minute charter.  Ball St dropped them Jan of 2016 and Trine was approved June of 2016

Lew Wallace, Wirt, and Horace Mann have all closed. Roosevelt is state run and I'm not sure how West Side is doing. I know Gary has quite a few charter schools. From an academic standpoint, are the charter's providing a better education?

Some are and some aren't. Two years ago Tindley's girls basketball team had a cumulative 3.6 GPA. That's the team average.

Other charters, not so much. Just look at how many receive F grades in ISTEP (not that ISTEP was a reliable indicator of anything).

Then again, I used to work for McGraw Hill and I've seen these kids' ISTEP tests...their schools deserved the failing grades they received.
