Very excited as I am expecting to have a horse in the race.  I told him that they need to start building a showcase so they can display his all-star jersey at the high school for future generations to ladmire and aspire to.

Will Grand Valley let Buck play in the game?

Nate Andrews of Northwood was named Head Coach of the North as well.

I believe the North's Assistants are :

Pete Koulinous HC at Hanover Central

Mark Reid, Ast. Coach Griffith

Mark Kerrn Jimtown

Luke Amstutz HC at East Noble

Chad Sutton Ast Coach at Garrett

Terry Peebles HC Lafayette Harrison

Clay Scott, Ast Coach Logansport

Curt Funk, HC at Mississinewa

Richard Green, DC at Monroe Central

I don't see any reason why not.  Buck is going a red shirt freshmen next year at GVSU.  We are all looking forward to the All-Star game this summer.

Coach Matt Mitchell said on the GVSU signing show that there are going to be 10 spring practices between March and April.

Buck is going to face a lot of competition at RB at the next level joining East Chicago's Marty Carter who will be a junior who was named the Division II national player of the year along with a very talented group of recently signed freshmen.

Future plans are to use Buck primary as a blocking back in the Lakers spread offense.

How are the teams chosen? Being named in your region qualifies a player, but for the team does the North staff pick the players?  Is there any media involvement?

Zero media involvement.  I would contact your local Northwood coach, considering he is the HEAD COACH of the North, he maybe willing to shed more info for you

Good for Clay Scott. He was a good color commentator on the radio for Pioneer and a great contributor to Panther athletics.

What are the rules used in the all-star game?  I believe on offense only four formations can be used at any time and on defense only the four down linemen can rush the quarterback, i.e. No Blitzing.  Usually the team with the best qb's and wr's unually win.

We exchanged playbook formations in June 2015 game.  Though there are conversations about going back to stock playbooks.   It is a 4-4 stack Def but can adjust to cover trips etc

No blitzing.....My LBs I coached were told that too.  We just read ready well a.d got down hill fast :)

My son has made it to the region 6 team . We are anxious for the teams to be announced . Do they give equal consideration to kids from all classes ? He is 2A .

It is a representative all star game.   Quotas have to be filled based on long standing selection process.  Ie:  certain amount of kids from each region, certain amount of 1a/2a kids, and its a large puzzle that needs to be put together that satisfy many components that goes into each year's all star game.

Every year very deserving and talented players do not get the nod, part of it, but I will say that being part of the process, stay ready, injuries, de-commitments, etc come up all the time.  One of our better LBs I had came down Monday Night of All Star week!!

I have thought for years that it would be cool to have two All-star games. 1A-3A and then a 4A-6A game.

http://ifca.net/regions/

If you click on each region:  1-5 in NORTH  6-10 in SOUTH:   you will find each region's "Officers"   There will be listed a ALL STAR COACH and ALL STAR AST COACH for each region.  All Star Chairman is the HC coach from previous year who helps guide the incoming ALL star coaches.

I'm curious to know how the IFCA All-state team selectees relate to the region selectees?  My understanding is the all star team is made up of region select players but I don't see much overlap with All-state selectees from each region.
