  2. We are closer to Nashville, Tennessee than Chatard. You will have even better warm up facilities on your playoff run in 4A this year.....those schools are waaaaay nicer.
  3. Doesn't everybody remember when they (the Biden administration and the Fed) said higher prices were temporary? Econ 101 - the only way for prices to come back down is called DEFLATION. That is NOT going to happen. The inflation rate may be back at the 3% level now, but THAT IS STILL INFLATION - WAKE UP - Prices are not coming DOWN, they're just going UP SLOWER. They're still going to call this a win when inflation settles at about 2.5 - 3% sustained, down from the 9 - 10% that built up from 2021 all the way through 2022, but these high prices are here to stay. Inflation is still inflation.....I was alive in the late 70's and early 80's when my father was starting his business, prices never went down then and they won't now. "Inflation is proving to be stickier than usual" says Yellen.....Who knows very well, inflation doesn't ever leave for any length of time. https://thehill.com/business/4529787-yellen-regrets-saying-inflation-transitory/ Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said she regrets describing inflation in 2021 as “transitory,” the term several Federal Reserve and Biden administration officials used to describe the pandemic-induced price surges they initially thought would be temporary. “I regret saying it was transitory. It has come down. But I think transitory means a few weeks or months to most people,” Yellen said during an interview with FOX Business Network’s Edward Lawrence on Monday. Treasury spokesman Christopher Hayden said in an email to The Hill that this was not the first time Yellen expressed regret for calling inflation “transitory,” which she previously said during an interview with WBUR in January. Headline inflation fell to 3.2 percent year-over-year in February from its 9.1 percent peak in June 2022, a significant improvement but still higher than the Fed’s mandate to keep price increases to 2 percent annually. Fed Chair Jerome Powell, who was also dinged for initially calling inflation transitory, and the central bank have hiked interest rates from near-zero in March 2022 to a range of 5.25 percent to 5.5 percent to try to curb inflation by cooling demand. While many economists feared the rate hikes could push the economy into a recession a year ago, it now looks like the U.S. economy could be coming in for a rare “soft landing,” the term for slowing down the economy just enough to bring down high prices without triggering a recession. The runway for the soft landing may be a bit bumpy as inflation is proving to be stickier than usual, but Yellen, a former Fed chair, was optimistic about the overall downward trend in price pressures. “I wouldn’t expect this to be a smooth path month to month, but the trend is clearly favorable,” Yellen said.
  4. This is prime example of the sheer stupidity of these Palestinian supporters.......Although with her nose-ring on prominent display, she must be pretty bright...... https://nypost.com/2024/04/25/us-news/clueless-columbia-student-at-nyu-rally-why-are-we-protesting/ Anti-Israel protesters at NYU admit they have no idea what they’re protesting: ‘I wish I was more educated’ Does this drag queen really understand Palestine.....and what really goes on there? https://nypost.com/2024/04/25/us-news/outrage-as-drag-queen-leads-kids-in-free-palestine-chant/ Video of a drag queen in Massachusetts leading a group of young kids to chant “Free Palestine” has sparked fierce backlash — with some calling it “indoctrination” that is “wrong on every level.” The encounter, which unfolded at a “Queer Storytime for Palestine” event organized by the Valley Families for Palestine group in Amherst last week, had gone viral by Thursday as outrage mounted. “Today what we’re going to do is shout ‘Free Palestine.’ Can I hear that?” the drag queen, known as “Lil Miss Hot Mess,” was filmed telling the children in the 30-second clip. 5. Today
  6. Just re-posting incase anyone forgets why the Senate "Border" Bill didn't pass.....And a reminder that the House passed a very good border bill that would have passed the Senate had Chuck Schumer brought it to the floor......
  7. The Boomers are the ones voting these big-government, uncontrolled-spending, politicians into office. I hear Hillsdale College in Michigan has an Economics department.
  8. Yeah, I was including SA with AC for this. SA made it to regionals how many times and fell to AC. Be curious to see how they do without AC around, though they were in a bit of rebuilding last year instead of reloading.
  9. Rich guys have done this, not the boomers. I think I'll need to take an economics course at a conservative Christian university and at a public school and see how they differ.
  10. Go Hot Dogs: Pretty pitiful Proficiency scores there as well. Fault of the teachers/admin or the students/parents?
  11. Still have yet to a Skyline Chili, any good?
  12. IHSAA website says the Executive Meeting is April 30th.
  13. Forgive him, he moved in from out of state to get his boy a ring.
  14. Heritage Hills is north of Bishop Chatard/Indianpolis?
  15. I don’t know about all that, but rich donors can get the mascot changed.

  18. Is this an appropriate "football" thread, BTF?
  19. Adams Central and East Central are the outlier to this theory. There should have been a dot on those two small towns rather than a line that included the entire southeast portion of Indiana. The Jets are, arguably, the best football program in the state of Indiana regardless of class. Disclaimer: There are probably 15 programs in the state that could make that same claim.
  20. But no one plays indoors. Add the two together and you have the perfect storm.
  21. You have beautiful facilities up there in the cornfields. Between the stadium, gym and school grounds it must have cost you tax payers millions. I am sure Chatard will miss using them during their warm up for their playoff run this year.
  22. Hardly anyone in 6A plays on grass these days in Central Indiana. I'd have to go back and look to see the last time Ben Davis played a game on a grass field. It may have been when Terre Haute North and South were in the MIC.
  23. Man we send a Class 1A state finalist 4 years in a row and aren't good enough to be in the area to pick from. Bummer.
  24. Nope, never have in all the many years I've been here. No plans to start now. Let's go
