  2. That's interesting. Not very often do you hear just Jefferson, it's Lafayette Jeff. Or Riley, it's South Bend Riley. Evansville Reitz. Indianapolis Ritter. I think when a city has more than one high school, it's common to label them with the city name in front. When there is one high school, it's just named after the ciy..............Warsaw, New Haven, Angola, ect.
  3. Weak, I'll bump it up to 20 points it u make your pick now
  4. Ur not wrong Or at least they can find new more entertaining differences
  5. They need to drink more beer, that will solve their differences…🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
  6. To be fair, It is not Fort Wayne Wayne, it is just Wayne. Example, it is not Fort Wayne Snider or Fort Wayne Luers or Fort Wayne Dwenger either
  7. https://fox59.com/indiana-news/lafayette-elementary-school-to-become-first-in-indiana-with-a-4-day-week/ Hmm. I assume teachers and administrators will still make their full salary as if they were teaching 5 days a week, and now they even get more time off during the calendar year. And support staff that gets paid hourly, like custodians and cafeteria workers, will make less. Nice. And the real losers will be the children. The dumbing down of the government school system. Maybe this will make more parents decide to home school their children.

  11. I’ve been asking for parity in 6A since its inception…finally gotten it in terms of a state finals matchup…now the next step is for someone out of the metro area to be competitive in that state finals matchup.
  12. I think Elkhart may see the writing on the wall, the NLC is a better overall fit for them, and I think Elkhart would be a bit more competitive? maybe. Not so much with the top tier of the NLC right now, but they could be a middle of the pack team unless this new coach is able to change the culture over there.
  13. Penn was good that year. Missed opportunities are a tough pill to swallow. Homestead was also very good that year. Both teams would like a do over I'm sure.
  14. He will be missed by many! We were happy to have him at most practices and on the sidelines last season! Great coach, great man! https://www.huberfuneralhome.net/obituaries/Mike-Spencer?obId=31211585

  16. If my memory serves me correctly we played two tight games in a row against Valpo in regionals back to back years that saw us go down. Gees had the ball on the 1 with 4 downs to punch it in and we ran Tony West our speed back rather than Bruce Ore who was our big back that may have been able to use his size to push the pile. Give the credit to Valpo they didn't break on those four plays. But, dang that was a let down as well.
  17. arguing about the duties of the IT guy this place has reached a new low
  18. Strength of schedule in any single season is less important than it is when repeated year over year, but, to your point, there are many important factors that bear on any program's success. SoS really only comes in once everything else is in place. We had several drives die inside of Valpo's 5. Some might say Gees called that game too tight more than we played awful. There was some procedural controversy around Valpo's go-ahead field goal, but we still got the ball back with enough time for a legitimate chance to win. We were really good that year, and 2002 was a huge lost opportunity for Penn. To bring it back to SoS for a second, Sagarin from '02 is pretty interesting. Penn's SoS was 23rd with 5 top 25 games on the schedule. Warren Central (1) and Penn (2) both went out in the Regional. Also, Ben Davis beat WC and CG in consecutive rounds after losing to both in the regular season. If––not to overlook a semi-state matchup with Snider––Penn had made it to state, then Ben Davis's last three tournament games would have been against the three teams they lost to in the regular season.
  19. https://mises.org/mises-wire/social-security-and-decline-employer-pension-system Yes, it will harm future generations. SSI is scourge on the American Dream.
  20. That "buzzword" seems to trigger many folks as if it is demeaning of programs and coaches that do not have to "worry" about such a thing but its real and shouldn't be marginalized or overlooked. You sure it wasn't the "sign stealing", lol? (Sorry, I had to.)
  21. NPR's Uri Berliner Has Shown That DEI Is About Punishing Heresy: https://reason.com/2024/04/17/nprs-uri-berliner-has-shown-that-dei-is-about-punishing-heresy/ Indeed they are.
  22. Oooh, somebody sounds testy. Thanks for the typo correction, our GID English Teacher.
  23. I wish Elkhart still played Goshen. I know Goshen has been down for a while but in the old days this used to be a really big game. I know Central was playing Goshen until Elkhart went back to 1 school and Goshen dropped the game.
  24. Growing up in Southern Indiana, I heard my father and family friends speak of his leadership abilities and was able to play against him one year. What a loss to the Indiana Football community.
