Eliminate these AD positions but then will create 5 new Asst. Superintendent positions at $100K to oversee these new Dean/AD positions. Usually how public schools work.4 points

This victimhood stuff by you is a hoot. The impact any actual black racist attitudes toward whites have on your life is nil, zip, zilch. The effect that our society's ingrained, systemic racism and the unconscious biases of white Americans have on the daily lives of a huge percentage of blacks and other people of color in this nation is huge. The mania for drawing false equivalencies and "narrowing down" the definition of racist/racism to encompass only individuals consciously expressing racial animus toward others is an obvious ploy to avoid the responsibility that all of us, but in particular all of us white people, have to "own" this problem and deal with it. Finally. After 300+ years.3 points

WW had an awesome time at the Brownstown Weight Meet. Thank you B-Town for putting on a great event with WW, B-Town and BNL. The kids competed in 3 lifts; power clean, squat and bench. WW had 3 of the top 5 lifters in the combined weight- Michael Leach- Clean 265, Squat 500, Bench 260 Caleb Murphy- Clean 275, Squat 435, Bench 290 Jerren Roll- Clean 225, Squat 470, Bench 275 Other Notable- Hunter Pate- Clean 265, Squat 385, Bench 250 We had several of our strongest kids not attend because of our BB team winning sectional and practicing for regional. Bobby Stevens may have cracked the Top 7 with his current PR lifts. Clean 250, Squat 405, Bench 255 Charles Madden PR- Clean 225, Squat 364, Bench 260 Our skills guys all have quality Power Indexes and would have done in that capacity at the meet. Notable skills guys with good numbers are Jacob Strange, Glen Rankin, Harrison Sanford, Chase Farmer and Holden Bowsman. Overall, very excited about our winter work. The kids are working very hard and are motivated. All players are enrolled in AdvPE and that is huge with all of our multi-sport athletes.2 points

Until you know what their jobs are not sure how you can do both. Deans are in the office dealing with students, academics, issues all day long They better have good and competent secretaries For larger schools this make no sense at all - the kids will suffer Hell, St Joe and Marian both have Assistant AD's and SB schools did not2 points

Your hypothetical requires us to know the specific language of the possibly-applicable "hate crime" statute. Typically, these statutes say something like, "If in committing the underlying crime [in this case, the murder of dear old SF, may he rest in peace], the perpetrator was motivated by prejudice against the victim based on the victim's race, color, religion, national origin, ethnicity, sexual orientation or physical or mental disability, then a sentencing enhancement of "x" years will be added on." So if your hypothetical perpetrator made it clear in connection with killing you that he was motivated by prejudice against you because you were white, then he could be charged with a hate crime. But none of that addresses the point Gonzo has made that form a functional definition perspective, "black racism" is a non-issue in this country.1 point

Nothing hypothetical about it. Yes, if cause could be shown that that is what drove it. https://blavity.com/black-man-charged-with-a-hate-crime-after-an-altercation-with-white-woman-he-believed-to-be-a-white-supremacist https://www.justice.gov/usao-mdga/pr/usisraeli-man-indicted-hate-crime-and-threats-jewish-community-centers-israeli-embassy https://broadly.vice.com/en_us/article/z4jadx/can-you-commit-a-hate-crime-against-a-white-person However, hate crimes can also be performed against people for non-race or non-ethnic reasons like crimes against gays or transsexuals or, in some jurisdictions, disability, and religion. It is also possible for a Latino person to be charged with a hate crime against a Black person. Or an Israeli-American charged for anti-Semitic threats. Again, hate crimes are not tied to any definition or perceived definition of racism. Hate crime legislation usually never mentions the issue of racism directly.1 point

The solution isn't necessarily eliminating the 3 point stance. But kids don't need to be playing tackle football as young as pop warner allows or encourages. USA Football introduced a great model the Northern Indiana Youth Football League uses for 8U called Rookie Tackle. I think 10U, or even 12U, is where kids ought to begin playing tackle football as we know it.1 point

Penn, FW Snider, Carmel all crack the top ten. Care to rank them? Penn is the definitive Number One! 67 athletes for the Black and Gold.1 point

No. Racism and discrimination aren't the same thing ... as pointed out earlier by @gonzoron and expanded on in @Wabash82's posts. Blacks could stop discriminating against Whites, but racism would still exist as Whites have the leverage of court systems, business structures, etc. to still have racism continue in application. Even if Whites stopped discriminating against Blacks, there could also still be racism if infrastructure remains in place and unchallenged even if people aren't discriminating anymore.1 point

T32 you have all the calprep scores posted with VL and Jasper. You talk about domination by GS football for the next several years. You talk about GS being different. And you reply with being married and you win??1 point

My last comment on this. I suspect we have hit a impass here. I can recognize this from years with my wife LOL. Take a breath and remember that I said..you win! You are right. Our methodology for our 1st -8th is the exactly the same as the other quality programs in SW Indiana and there is no possible way we can identify a nice group for us by the 5th grade. My hat is off to you sir for catching me in my attempt to deceive the knowledgeable fans of SW Indiana. Again...I am wrong and I apologize to the rest of the thread for the hijack. Back to the topic at hand, does anyone know the exact date of the vote?1 point

I hit up Ale Emporium any time I'm on that side of town, or within a half hour drive. Love that place, Hermanaki or Hermincan wings, and pizza!1 point

Yeah, I understand the difference. The strawman argument you made was that the Act we were discussing was designed to address strawman purchases. You mischaracterized the purpose of the proposed law in order to argue that it would not do a good job of achieving its supposed purpose. The mischaracterization of the law's purpose was the "straw man" that you erected for the purpose of knocking it down.1 point

Well GS has reinvented the wheel. So it takes parents and players to buy in? “We have to build things differently than I suspect what your used to.” Would love to hear WTH that means.1 point

Might want to read again.....90% of SW Indiana. Can’t speak for teams out of this area. I visit enough schools and coaches in this area to see that most have really good feeder programs. What is different about GS compared to programs in SW Indiana. Enlighten us less knowledgeable fans.1 point

We never talk about low man winning, because that tends to encourage kids to have their heads down and lead with their heads. We talk about striking with a double upper cut, landing our hands first on a specific target and keeping our eyes below our hands. Some people like the 2 pt. stance, but you rarely see it amongst the best in college football. I would argue as well that the older and better an athlete gets, the easier it would be to get away with the two point stance. I just think most younger players like to play high already, and do tend to stand up too much and I have found the two point stance encourages that. Just my experience. If you can make it work for you, awesome. However, against the dudes we have to play, want to have strong and quick footwork out of our stance and like to strike our defenders on the rise. We use a balanced stance with little weight no the hand.1 point

Yeah, watch any college football minus the academies.1 point

I work a number of Youth Camps at our High School and Coordinate the O-line portion of the Bishop- Dullahan Youth camp and have not had much trouble teaching stance. USA football has a very easy method of teaching the stance. We use a few simple commands and it is done. I do agree that with kids below the 3rd grade level, it does tend to get more difficult though. I have played with the thought of going from a two point stance with my varsity guys, but it is my opinion that you lose your angles of leverage when coming from a two point stance in the run game. I also will say, that we never lead with the head. We lead with the hands and want our eyes below our hands.1 point
-
This REALLY bothers me. The stance is an absolute fundamental. Imagine a Little League baseball coach not teaching the kids how to stand in the batters box. Just the ramblings of a 35 year offensive line veteran...1 point

https://inpolicy.org/2019/03/morris-hate-crimes/ I agree with Mr. Morris. Designating crimes as 'hate' crimes is a redundant and fruitless exercise. A crime is a crime is a crime.0 points

So if somebody of a different racial group from my own deprives me of life, liberty, or property that is a "hate crime"?-1 points
-
Because I still don't understand exactly benefit(s) the classification of "hate crime" bestows on American society. Is it the belief that such a classification is an effective deterrent, that somebody from the racial majority whose is about to or is plotting to harm an individual from a racial minority will suddenly stop and think "gee, I'm about to commit a hate crime, I had better not do this thing."?-1 points
