  1. If a 1A or 2A player wins next year they can always add managers, trainers, Cheer Coach and Cheerleaders to potential voters. And don't forget about adding parents, siblings (half or step), and possibly grandparents (must be alive to qualify). 🤔😂

  6. https://www.cnn.com/2019/04/01/health/minnesota-boy-robotics-car-trnd/index.html FTA: Due to a genetic condition, Cillian Jackson, 2, can't walk. But the Minnesota boy now motors around in style, thanks to some enterprising students at his local high school. It all started when Cillian's physical therapist told his parents about a program called Go Baby Go, which provides modified toy cars to children with limited mobility. They looked into it, but there wasn't a Go Baby Go chapter near the Jackson family's home in Farmington. And motorized wheelchairs can cost more than $1,000. So the parents turned to the robotics team at Farmington High School and asked if the students would be willing to take on the project. The students accepted the challenge. Using plans and models from Go Baby Go, they got to work, modifying a Power Wheels toy car to fit little Cillian and give him more freedom in his movements.

  9. No, not at all. Your idea, not mine. Purging can come from any direction. Can certainly be based on racist, misogynistic, etc. activity, but could certainly be as simple as purging the old rolls to make room for newer blood or shifts in ideology. The President is working on purging his party over ideology and opposition to himself. Again, my point was actually looking at both parties over similar issues and merely observing that Franken was forced out mainly due to calls and push from his own party. Similarly, if Biden goes, it'll likely be from push of his own party. That has not been seen, on this issue, from the GOP side ... especially in the case of the one guy who actually has cases lining up waiting the go ahead. As for Clinton, I see him as irrelevant to the situation at hand unless he's planning to run in the upcoming race. It's been a couple of decades since he's been in the mix, but if the issue is pointing to Clinton then that kind of just shores up the issue with the GOP as they took the moral high ground that he was "diddling" around and used that as a rallying cry to gin up, specifically, the Evangelical base, so that should also have them in the position of purging their own too a couple of years ago ... but that didn't happen and won't happen either.

  11. Not sure where y'all are going with this...not sure I am following. No one is denying the excellence of New Pal these last few years or the long term greatness of Snider. Historically (I have said this 1,000 times), I felt for many years that the best classes pound for pound were 2A and 4A (prior to the expansion to 6A). 5A initially was fairly weak (Snider had a couple of down years about then). Then some 4A teams (maybe just one - Cathedral) moved up to populate 5A. Since then, it has changed with 3A becoming a stud class (which it had not been historically) with both 2A and 4A weaker. 4A for a few years has been pretty weak (since all the great 4A teams were now in 5A)- almost as weak as 5A in the beginning. Probably the greatest (certainly the most entertaining) State Championship game I ever saw was New Pal v. Snider. Last year's Evansville Memorial v. West Lafayette game was pretty amazing too. No one is denying just how good New Pal and Snider have been these last few years....and I certainly don't forget how many years Snider provided Carmel their toughest playoff game on the way to LOS.

  12. A belated reference to his passing. James Edward “JDub” Warren passed away on February 22, 2019. He was a Senior at Indiana State University when he was first diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma in September. He took part in 2 State Championship teams as a Lineman. He could have played in college but chose not to do so. Knowing him, he was just a wonderful kid who had a laugh for everyone…yet he was so much more than that. It’s not my place to speak as to just how special he was..…or how hard he fought and how much his Mother and Father loved him…and fought with him, as well, until the end. For those outside of the Chatard Community, I don’t think you will understand just how much so many people gathered round his family and just what they did. He was a special kid. As all in the football community here are…and those outside as well. Chris Ballard (GM of the Indianapolis Colts) and Frank Reich (Indianapolis Colts) spent time at his bedside. Frank Reich even came back a couple of days later and prayed with him for an hour at his bedside. “JDub” wrote a letter to his friends and another to his mother in the sad anticipation of his passing. It was printed at the funeral but I will not post it here. It was inspirational and, yet, broke me to tears. He cared so much for those of us yet living. Perhaps the most seminal part of the funeral was when a coach and so many players there said the Chatard Prayer as they do before each game. The prayer is not so much about victory as it is to bless all those on the field. It was one of the most touching events I have seen in my life. This is a kid I knew. A special kid. https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/indystar/obituary.aspx?pid=191654380

  17. Tell us NightHawk, why can't the private sector fund an activity of such great value as the Special Olympics? If it costs such a paltry sum why are you not volunteering to pitch in? #NightHawk 2020 ~ government spending is automatically the answer to ALL altruistic endeavors, the private sector just sucks.

  18. To help with with NightHawk's righteous indignation/rage at taxpayer money not being used to fund Special Olympics, Inc.: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/special-olympics-budget-controversy-behind-the-numbers-at-nonprofit-group/ I'm sure that 10% could have easily been covered by the generosity of the private sector, why hasn't NightHawk mailed a check himself? And why does government have to be involved in this organization at all?

  19. http://reason.com/archives/2019/04/02/stuff-sparks-joy Yep. Government wants to grow, to control every aspect of our lives. It wants to tell us what we can buy, when we can buy it, and how much we will pay for it.

  20. How exactly does a major political party "purge it's own"?

  22. So those to be "purged" have to be racists, misogynists, etc. that are accused of some kind of heinous act? If so why hasn't Bill Clinton been "purged"?

  24. Blah, blah, blah. Concerns about propaganda mmasquerading as journalism from The Daily Caller?! Priceless. "Oh, it just happened because people were upset because [Trump] is so terrible. Well, that in itself is a propaganda talking point for the Progressive political movement and Media Matters for America." Or, alternatively, Trump is terrible.

  25. So if one is "purged" do they get a letter on official uni-party national committee letterhead stating something like "Dear X, your membership is our special club is hereby revoked. Get the f*ck out and don't come back."?

  29. http://reason.com/blog/2019/04/01/12-year-old-michigan-boy-is-filling-poth#comment Michigan, meanwhile, has the worst roads in the United States, according to a study released in October. The state and local governments there have shown themselves to be utterly incapable of filling potholes on a timely basis. While Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) may have campaigned on a promise to "fix the damn roads," it sure looks like a 12 year old is actually getting real results. I live in Michigan for most of the the 1990's, and the roads were pretty bad then. Stories of flat tires, broken rims, bent axles, etc. due to potholes were not uncommon. It appears nothing has really changed. Kudos young Mr. Scott for his initiative. Unfortunately if he wasn't 12 and this wasn't such a "feel good" story he would probably be arrested/fined for his actions.
