  1. Hello everyone, my name is Cory Smith and for the last year ( started August 2018), I've run a Pro-Warren Central Warriors Football Podcast called, True Warrior Football. In the time that I've done this show, I've learned so much about the history of the program that I have loved for so long. If you want to see the work I've done so far, here is the link to my podcast website, https://audioboom.com/channels/4970501 The show is also available on Apple Podcasts and all major podcast apps. Just search "True Warrior Football" Last Saturday, I did a live podcast show at Indy PopCon and I had a livestream that can be viewed below. In that livestream, I announced that I am going to expand and do True Football: Indiana. My goal for that show is just about the same with True Warrior Football. I want to talk about the history of Indiana Football. I want to talk with the greats of high school football from across the state and have them share their stories with those that don't know them. I also want to cover the teams that are great around the state that don't get the promotion and coverage that they deserve. I'm looking to cover the teams from The Region all the way down to Evansville and everywhere in between. I'm very excited about this venture and look forward to working the many high school programs from across the entire state. If you have a great story about your team and would like for me to interview you for the show, so you can share it with others, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I have always felt like high school football here in Indiana doesn't get the credit it deserves for being really good and my mission to change the mind of people all over about what goes down here on Friday nights at stadiums all across our great state! Thanks for your time folks and enjoy your day!!!! https://twitter.com/TrueWarriorFB1/status/1137384496146341889

  2. That's absolutely not true. *** If you read the entire thread, you will see that I posted this on June 2nd: I have only looked at these sports-- Football, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Baseball, Softball. So if anyone has looked at the other sports (Volleyball, etc), please chime in. As mentioned, two bumped-up Football programs earned 2 Points in the current 2-year cycle but the IHSAA has bumped them DOWN-- FW Snider from 6A to 5A, Cathedral from 5A to 4A. In Boys Basketball, Marquette earned 2 Points (2 Sectional titles) in the current cycle-- the IHSAA is keeping them UP in 2A. In Girls Basketball, no bumped-up programs earned 2 Points. In Baseball, Lafayette Central Catholic earned 2 Points (2018 Regional title, lost in 2019 Sectional) in the current cycle-- the IHSAA will be keeping them UP in 2A. In Softball, Gibson Southern earned 2 Points (lost in 2018 Sectional, 2019 Regional title) in the current cycle-- the IHSAA will be keeping them UP in 4A. To my knowledge, there are no other bumped-up Spring sports programs which will be impacted by the recent change from 3 Minimum Points to 2 Minimum Points. *** The whole purpose of the thread was to ask why the rule change was being implemented for the WINTER & SPRING SPORTS but NOT the FALL SPORTS. Fortunately, the IHSAA (eventually) recognized the fact that, if the rule change was going to be implemented with the cycle ending in 2018-2019, then they needed to apply it to all sports.

  3. # of schools with football in Illinois: 564 # of schools with football in Michigan: 556 # of schools with football in Ohio: 732 # of schools with football in Indiana: 338 Im sure these numbers are not exactly right as there has been consolidation and some schools stopped fielding teams....I pulled these numbers from max preps

  4. I know it's early...but I wish more coaches had this done! (as if they aren't busy). 😁 Calpreps team previews! http://calpreps.com/preview/football_index_new.html

  5. I tried my best to recap that in my response. But @slice60 did a much better job!

  6. Yes. The state football tournament was not an all-in tournament back then. Please don't even attempt to make the argument that the Points system (or whatever it was called) or the Cluster system was better than the current format. Those formats SUCKED. Worthy teams were left out when the tournament field was set. The champion gets decided on the field instead of with a Points system or Sagarin ratings or Win-Loss criteria. So keep doing it. Indiana HS Football is more high profile today than it was 40 years ago & the all-in tournament format has played a role in that.

  8. I may be wrong but I don't think that the 1A, 2A, 3A sectionals will be impacted. The only bumped-up teams who earned exactly 2 Points were Snider & Cathedral. Somebody will drop from 5A to 4A to replace Cathedral. But it won't flow down below that. Caveat-- all of this is my best guess.

  9. I'd like to see 10 regular season games and then not let everyone in the tournament. And obviously then seed the tournament.

  10. https://reason.com/2019/06/18/oh-deer-3/ That would be nice, I would probably purchase some. Letting the products resulting from sports hunting and culls be sold on the open market is a smart idea, as the situation in Australia clearly demonstrates. And personally I have been involved in one deer/vehicle incident in my life, something I never want to repeat. If these polices reduce the deer population enough to reduce vehicle accidents involving the animal then it's a good policy.
