  2. Threado donezo... Grown men, stop acting like children. Really starting to wonder if the triumverant are good for Indiana HS football, or deeply trolling the sport's decimation.

  3. Perhaps better endzone cameras can help better spot those "travesties of the game".

  4. With John. I think it was that but more so.... Knox is much closer to him then what Northwestern was.. And Knox did shell out the dough for him. Knox was always a sleeping giant. They have had good athletes, an increasing enrollment. I probably would have left NW too. The two fastest kids on the field will be the lewellen boys. Im not even a Pioneer guy but Damn. Ill put money on Ezra and Addai to beat any kid on Cass.

  5. I think I made my feelings perfectly clear with my post to Muda, competitive balance is the NFL, where every team is .500+/- and it bores the hell out of me. You seem to think that if we contract football playing schools you're going to achieve some sort of mythical balance. Educational sports always come down to Jimmies and Joes, you either got em or you ain't. I fail to see how eliminating 40-60 football playing schools serves the purpose of "enhancing educational based sports". But if competitive balance is your goal, knock yourself out, but don't expect me to go along for the ride.

  6. I keep thinking I might retire to California. That's where Hi-Pod endzone cameras are based out of. I was thinking I could maybe get a part-time job with Hi-Pod to supplement my retirement savings.

  11. The “Law of Unintended Consequences” is always in effect ... although this consequence was perfectly predictable, if unintended.

  12. Why is 280 the target? From all I can gather your interests lie in something other than what's best for the young men and women who play the game. How do you from your cushy retirement community in Arizona have any idea what's best for the kids in Pike County? And since you don't do anything for free, who's paying you to continue this crusade of denying high school kids the opportunity to play the great team game?

  17. Yes, that's exactly what I've said. I'm done with this thread: Muda, good luck getting public schools closed for good. DT, good luck getting football schools down to the magic number.

  20. I don't know. Prior to week 1 it was stated by a Pioneer faithful that Cass had lost 5 in a row and the last 4 games by a combined 171-0 and the previous 44-0. Maybe Cass just played out of their mind the first game.

  21. Knox is very well coached. John Hendryx should be coach of the year in that conference. Everywhere he goes he has an immediate impact. I think though he saw the writing on the wall at Northwestern when he decided to leave a couple years ago as wins are tough enough to come by in the Hoosier Conference even harder when you don't have the jimmies and joes. The distinction between Cass's tough Schedule (91) and Logansport's (88) is that they beat everyone on their tough Schedule. So the measure is SOS + Wins. Regardless its all conjecture. I can remember on many occasions where the Kings have been written off over the years and we pulled off upsets most recently West Lafayette. Moral of the story is that anything can happen on a Friday night. I actually consider the Kings the underdog in this one. With Pioneer coming off a state championship.

  22. The blocking rules don't change on a scrimmage kick, which is what a PAT is. The only blocking below the waist allowed is by a player on the line, against an opponent on the line, in the free blocking zone, while the ball is in the free blocking zone. Since a kick try is a long snap, that means the block must be instantaneous at the snap. Any delay and it's a foul.

  24. Nobody knows what they have in game one. Cass is a very different team from that game one match up. This is going to be a great game. I think all of Cass County can agree to that and keep this talk all positive. Just talk up your team and leave the trash out of it as most everyone has. Friday will be here soon enough. Still three days of prep to get ready.

  25. Wasn't Luers 4-5 when they entered post-season in 2009 and ended up walking away with a blue ring? Outside of Northwood and Cathedral, they might be the only other program to have entered the tourney with a losing record and left with a blue ring.

  30. I was a 3 sport athlete and never asked for break. I understand we live in a different world with different physical and demands on student-athletes. (But our coaches were smart with the physical demands of the players.) We made deep runs in the football playoffs my Junior and Senior years, and afterwards, the basketball coaches had us football players do more mental reps and less physical work (Walk through plays, practice skill development and develop teamwork, over conditioning). The non-football guys had only a little conditioning after the football guys showed up. When we hit Christmas Break, the coaching staff "flipped the switch" and started hammering conditioning during those 3 hr practices. (We did not play in a Holiday Tourney and only had 1-2 games over break.)

  31. Sectional 33: NN (7-2) has 1st round BYE RCHS @ Wheeler : Winner hosts NN round 2 BG and Andrean certainly will win their respective 1st round games: Boone Grove season gets validated if they beat Andrean in Round 2. If RCHS takes care of business 1st 2 rounds then they will be on the road to Either Boone or Andrean I am not too familiar with this year's version of Luers, but that 2009 team was littered with D1 talents but they were Freshman thru Juniors. There was a certain freshman on that Luers team you may have heard of.

  32. Depending on the size of the event. High School or Middle School. Friday Night Basketball, Wrestling, swimming etc... There will be a Coach from represented team as the "supervisor" or money taker if you will. And then 2-5 athletes that work in there. I know we do not have one, I do not remember seeing one for Lake Station either.

  33. That's the issue though, a personal foul unnecessary roughness is a subjective call made at the discretion of the referee. It's a judgement call. There's no right or wrong answer. That's why I thought the majority of them I thought were excessive. They weren't warranted. I've seen much worse go unflagged. Nearly 15 flagged personal fouls between the two teams that resulted in ZERO ejections, skirmishes, etc is excessive. The refs only escalated the situation.

  36. Thank you @JustRules, @PHJIrish, @Irish Line Momma having not watched the Jeffersonville game and not knowing the crews between the 2 games the only information I had was what the CG webcast crew stated. I'm not sure why @Bobref took exception with that part of my post. I believe I even mentioned I've no way of knowing that for sure. It didn't have to be as big of a deal as it was made out to be. My observation of the calls in the game were from what I observed not what the webcast crew felt or stated. I only brought to light their statement about many flags thrown in the game against Jeffersonville. At any rate I posted video of the game for Bob to observe, I respect his observations of officiating mechanics so I will be interested to see what his thoughts are. Of course I understand this won't be the same as game film recorded by each team which would be better.

  44. I really have no idea what you’re getting at, but it’s not unusual for teams to put starters in the game on special teams, or non scrimmage plays. As far as having seniors on the field.....well this time of year, their time is getting short, most of their careers are about to end. I’ve personally known Coach May since he’s been at BC and been on the field for many of their running clock games, including a 98-24 game, I have never seen an instance where he’s tried to run the score up, be disrespectful to, or embarrass an opponent. I’m not sure what you’re hinting at, but if you’re saying BC is running some sort of Bush League operation you’re wrong.
